Great Car
I am a new owner of Skoda Octavia VRS (bought second hand) and I must say that this is one of the best car I have driven. I love every moment I drive my car. Amazed with its performance, agility and comfort. It is really an under rated car in Australia. The punchline 'Simply clever' is what I would say about this car.

Pretty good
Positives - Performs well; looks good; deceptively has plenty of room (fantastic boot space); great connectivity to devices (2 at once); nice gearbox; nice tech options
Negatives - air conditioning keeps playing up, stops working intermittently (Skoda can't fix); no adjustable headrest; odd high pitched noises while driving as it warms up; gear stick leather started peeling after 3 months
Overall happy with the car, but the air-conditioning issue is a big one that Skoda aren't able to resolve

Performace with a great Value
First of all disregard all the previous stigma related to the Skoda brand back in the day, because they have definitely picked up their game with the Octavia RS. Just done my first 10k on the 2017 RS TSI Sedan without a problem so here's a few points to consider once you had your test drive:
1- I could definitely vouch for the good performance and the even better steering and handling. Good economy fuel for performance with roughly 8-9 L/100KM. Great exterior looks and adaptive cruise control comes standard even on the base model.
2- Inte...Read more
rior is well-designed with a huge central screen with android auto and apple carplay which are a huge plus adding more useful features to the default navigation system - especially since traffic isn't included in Australia for some reason, however a con for the hard plastics similar to VW cars. 3- Regardless of its sports marketing, it comes with generous space actually practical with great overall size for families plus a huge boot for a sedan, however I did find the sport seat with bolsters to be a bit uncomfortable, i got used it to it by now but would still consider it a con. Overall recommended !Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Parts availability
I bought my Octavia vrs sedan from Essendon Skoda in March of this year, I have always liked the Octavia body shape and size and was happy with my car but realised at less than 2000km there was a rattling sound from the transmission when idling with the clutch pedal released. I assumed that the car had a faulty clutch release bearing and booked the car in for a weeks time.
After inspection by the garage I was told that the Dual mass flywheel had unacceptable tolerances and would have to be replaced.
This is where my gripe with Skoda begins, ...Read more

I Love my Octavia VRS
The Skoda Octavia VRS is a great drive with impressive performance and handling, really does drive around corners like it is on rails. The steering is the best of any car I've driven. When you consider the performance the fuel economy is also good with mine averaging about 8.7 L/100KM.
The car is surprisingly comfortable for a car with sports oriented suspension and the seats are excellent, and it is remarkably practical with loads of space and a huge boot for the cars size. I have the tech pack and the adaptive cruise control is very effect...Read more
ive as is the sound system and while the park assist works well I don't really use it. I did have one problem with the transmission and the service team dealt with it very professionally and quickly leaving me happy with the service received. I would happily recommend this car to anyone who wants fun I've now had this car for almost 3 years and still love it, it is reliable, comfortable, economical and practical.Nearly time to update but what would I go to?1 comment

Great car but reliability and poor dealer network detract
Owned the car for 12mths and 25k kms. It is a great design, practical, powerful and frugal. The 2.0 Turbo is an immensely tractable and flexible engine with minimal turbo lag. There is plenty of power and torque for a daily driver but it is excellent on fuel even when driven hard. It has great interior space and passenger legroom is amazing - the engineers got the most out of the interior space. The suspension better than almost every other econobox Camry and is fairly flat but rolls more than I like. The boot is amazing, you will be amazed how...Read more
big it is, even having the hatch I can fit my whole 29er MTB no problem when seats are down. Reliability: I think these are better built than the Golfs they're based on and consumer reports from the UK are quite high, I think Skoda made it top 3 one year and rate higher than VW. They also recently topped awards there as well. Being a duel direct and multi port injection the carbon deposit problems that affect prior TSI shouldn't be that much a problem. I had few issues when I first got the car: suspension bolt needed replacement which took the dealer 5 visits and intervention from VW to find what the problem was. There was a very annoying door rattle buzz linked to fuel line so they replaced the fuel line from driver side including fuel filter. If there was more dealers or they allowed VW dealers to undertake warranty repairs it would have been much easier. Since then, the car has been running fine. Get a 5yr warranty for peace of mind. The sound from the car is a bit dull and the sound module is lame - put on a cat back exhaust and the sound should improve.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Well now coming up to 4 years and still haven't got around to updating, the VRS has now done 90000 km and it continues to impress.
