Was my birthday gift, pink toaster.
Unfortunately didnt last long.
When it was working it was great but then one side of the element stopped working.
Replaced with 2nd new Smeg and less than 6 months later same thing. My pink Smeg kettle had the “S” come off so it became “MEG”.
It was a joke. Im suprised my Smeg oven is still going.
Maybe I just got a lemon but wasnt meant to be.

I only brought this toaster on the 19th November this year and whilst it looks very impressive it fails on its primary function to toast bread. From the beginning it’s toasted one side more then the other, no matter what settings I press and how much I play around with it. I’m so disappointed as this is my first smeg purchase and I thought it was such a reliable brand and I would have this toaster for many many years. It’s not an investment, and it’s not worth the $179 price tag. I would prefer to go back to my $20 Kmart toaster.

I bought this toaster just over 2 years ago. I loved the styling and like Smeg as a brand so I was prepared to pay the exorbitant price seeing you can get a toaster for a quarter of the price. I wouldn't say it was a great toaster from the start as it always tended to toast the bread on one side more than the other. Now however the internal elements have both stopped working. I am very disappointed to say the least after spending that amount of money I would expect the quality to be so much better.

We purchased Smeg toaster and kettle a few months ago, what a disappointment,the jug is so heavy you need two hands to fill it and as for the toaster, have not had a decent piece of toast, it is either toasted on one side only or more often than not burnt, no matter his many times you turn it down. Don,t wsste your money we would have been better off buying a $20/30 toaster and jug as we have in the past, they worked much better and never wore out.

Bought Smeg toaster and kettle and the toaster is now only toasting on one side. Very disappointing and I see it's not the only person who has experience this with the Sneg toaster. The kettle is heavy and pretty slow to come to boil. All in all very disappointing, what has happened to quality of Smeg????

We bought a Smeg Kettle and toaster in July last year as loved the look and the reputation of Smeg. Unfortunately the toaster now only toasts on one side, worked really up until the warranty ran out . Would love to get it fixed but probably not cost effective. The Kettle had to be replaced as the lid was faulty after a few months use . What's happening to Smeg reliability ?

I bought this toaster to go with all my other Pink Smeg kitchen stuff. Adore the styling and colour! The toaster not brilliant, very uneven from day one and it has just quietly died, I can see only one element now lighting up and the lever won't keep it down at all. I am super disappointed wth the longevity having paid $179.00 my expectation would have been it lasting many years longer. Too much money for too little time!!

This toaster is our second Smeg purchase and we have finally learnt our lesson. Smeg make pretty boxes and then fill them with low quality garbage. Each side of the toast browns a different rates, so you have to pop it half way through and turn it over. It is not even consistent. Put a second lot of bread in to toast on the same setting and it burns. Nor is the browning even over the slice of toast. $200 is a total rip off. A $20 toaster from K-Mart will give better results. Never again. Oh, if your wondering about the first purchase, it was a microwave oven whose internal light bulb blew every few months. Another pretty box filled with low quality garbage.

Beautiful to look at but the performance is very disappointing for a product of this price. I'm onto my second toaster. The first had to go back as an element stopped working after about 8 months. It was easily replaced at my place of purchase.
We are now having problems with the second, with bread burning on the first heat setting. I hate to think how toasty it would get on the highest setting! I'll be checking the warranty to see if this one can go back - for a refund.

Looks are deceiving with this Smeg toaster and I fell for it. It looks great it's just a pity it can't do what it was purchased to do and that is TOAST BREAD. I bought the toaster and the kettle - silly me. The dial on the toaster implies that one could dial up the amount of TOASTING you like. No. No No. In facet not sure what the dial does as no matter what number I dial it to it makes little difference. My advice don't buy this toaster.

This Smeg toaster looks great which is why we chose it with matching Kettle. Potentially one of the most expensive toasters you can buy. The few reviews we could find online all commented that looked great in kitchen (agree) and worked fine (disagree). I feel other reviews potentially written by SMEG PR. The toaster is very basic in controls yet can't get basic needs right. Toast is often burnt one side yet not done on other. For nearly $200 you expect a toaster that can at least toast consistently! Back to Harvey Norman with this and search continues. AVOID!
