I hooked up a 3.5 TB external hard drive to my soniq, and it is asking me to format the hard drive, but it will not start formatting! Is the hard drive too big??
I have a soniq 48 inch and it doesn't always turn on. Doesn't turn on by the stand by button but will the remote after turning off for a period of time at the power sorce. Is this common? Do I reset the tv?
This is a design fault of the TV. See posts re "stuck on standby". Mine started playing up on hot days, but would turn on in the cool of the evenings, but progressively got worse. Blowing a fan on back of TV worked for a while but it reached the point where it cannot be turned on. I intend to replace the $1 faulty component, but no time now.
I have a 2Tb hard drive plugged into my E48W13A-AU I have movies in it, and works fine on my computer but now the last 10 movies on the list contain the top 10 movies of that same list???? Not only that, get weirder. Let's say I have 100 movies, named 1, 2, 3, 4,..., 100. All of them are inside a folder named "movies" so 1 is 1, 2 is 2, but 90 contains the carpet "movies" which contains all the files again, like inception. 91 is 1, 92 is 2, 93 is 3. I can endlessly keep going inside the carpet "movies" endlessly because it contains itself instead of movie 90... Any one know why??? Could it be because my HD is too big?
My Soniq tv remote (QT166) flashes but the tv does not come on. I've had to turn the tv on and off several times in the past to get it working. However no luck today. How can I fix this problem?

Can I turn it into a smart tv and if so can someone please tell me how
No, not possible
Well yes & no
No as in not the TV its self but yes if you bought yourself a Android TV box or something similar or plugged in a PC into it then you would have a TV with smart TV features on that TV.
Also you could run software like Kodi depending on what device you plug into your TV which would be better than a smart TV.
My Soniq remote freezes when I'm on DTV mode but works fine in hdmi or av mode, anyone know how to fix this??
If you have a USB device plugged into tv such as a USB stick or external HDD it will freeze for about 20-30 seconds when switching to DTV mode, as my TV does the same thing.
Thanks for your reply but this is not the problem.when I'm watching normal digital tv my remote does now respond.only responds when I'm in hdmi mode with games console or av on DVD mode
Popup on Soniq website explains this. I was about to go out and buy a new tv before i saw this as I could not even change the input. Hopefully will be fixed soon.
Thanks Greg that's very helpful.my head was wrecked haha.hoefully it will be fixed soon
What is the lifespan of this model with say 3x more the adverage use than normal?
no idea. But I think if you use a good surge protector it might last longer. My last 2 cheap TV broke a little after a year. I suspect that it might have something to do with me not connecting the antenna to a surge protection. Because with the last 2 TV, the TV started acting strange after a violent storm. IT will turn on by itself and sometimes off. than theres a strange flicker. I have not experience any of this ever since I connect the antenna cable to the surge protection board.
Tv instand by mode, new batteries in remote tv will not come on??? Sometimes it will come on when remote on button pressed several times in the past i switch off the tv at the eall switch.
The sensor for the TV is on the left corner. This is really annoying because most TV have the sensor in the middle.
Try to move anything blocking the TV's sensor. I found this out when I had a similar problem to you. I remove all my items and kept moving my remote to find the angle the remote needs to point towards to make the TV respond. I'm not too sure which TV you have, but have a try of this.
See post "stuck on standby"
Soniq e48w13a remote will not switch tv on. Changed batteries many times. Cannot find a on off switch on tv - can someone help?
feel the under side of the bottom right of the TV. there are manual switches there. there is a possible chance that your TV is dead. if your remote is working and nothing changes when you press menu, than its probably dead. happen to me a few times. but still find the soniq a better TV to buy.
Do you have the remote that plugs into the tv via a usb cord.. if yes.. then plug it in and charge the remote
Did anyone have any luck getting Remote for Soniq TVs ?
My neighbor has this LCD TV
E48W134A-AU Revision AA
He does not like to spend much money
I can push him to get his android phone working (not in contract at the moment), if anyone knows of an app that can be used as a remote?
as far as I know you won't be able to get one. either use the manual buttons that is on the bottom right of the TV or buy a new remote on ebay. I discover all the android app works for Sony and samsung but bot AWA and soniq but that was at least 3 years ago. not sure if there are any new apps at the moment.
Thanks for replying.
I have since ordered this for the neighbor -
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/222127137955
$15 including shipping.
I wrote to the seller, and he said - "This remote is compatible for all Soniq TVs. It will not support smart TV features."
In parallel I searched Logitech Harmony Data Base, and they say - "Soniq E48W13A All Harmony products can control this device"
I have a 600 and a 650
I am considering adding it to my 600, and perhaps training a cheaper 'universal learning remote' with some of the commands
If I do, I will provide feedback, if anyone asks me to,
Rob
Does anyone know what P100 means? Its displayed on the screen whenever I try to use the remote control, I also can't change channels even using the functions on the tv itself.
I can't remember. But that happen to me. I think it's because I press one of the button on the remote. I fix it by pressing all the buttons till it goes away. I can't rememeber which one.
Hey, I have a Soniq E48W13A 48" Full HD LED-LCD TV. I got it in October last year. The picture has gone very dark. I've tried everything but nothing is working, I even tried restoring it back to factory settings. I can get into the picture bit but I can't change the contrast or anything on the little list. Please help!
if you are able to aceess the menu. push menu button on remote. select "picture". check if the first option is "picture dynamic". if it isn't select the "ok" button on remote than push the "left arrow" on remote till you find "dynamic". hopefully this will fix it.
TV will not turn on using either the remote (with good batteries) or by the standby button. The ready light at bottom left corner is lit (red). Any Ideas?
Mine had the same problem just after 6 months. The only way I got it to work was by unplugging it. Jiggling the power cord at the rear of the TV (the part closest to the back of the TV, not the power point) & then using the remote to turn it on. It may take a few tries but make sure the ready light is off before you move the cord around.
It's probably dead. Sounds like the issue I had.
The price to fix it is almost the price of another soniq. I had several tries myself and I thought it was okay but it died it's a cheap TV so its expected it'll die after 1 year.
my soniq turns on and off by itself, any ideas?
Scroll through the menu and check the timer setting. I have my TV on set time to turn on and off because I like having the TV on to help me sleep and wake up.
If your TV won't turn on at all. Check to see if you can access the menu button. If it won't turn on, or after its on there is no picture and menu won't appear than its possibly dead.
Could be something as simple as the remote batteries. I've had that happen with other devices when the remote batteries were discharging.
I had my Tv on a wall mount and I lost The stand that originally came with it and was just wondering if I could use any soniq Tv stands ?
No idea. If it fits than great but to prevent damages to your TV, why not make a stand from timber purchase from Bunnings, place wall mount system on it and then mount TV.
I got to admit, I don't like the stand that comes with my soniq tv. My TV tends to want to fall backwards more.
My Soniq E48W13A after 2 hours the picture just freezes and says "no signal." If I turn it off and back on it makes no difference but if I leave it off till the next morning it starts as if nothing is wrong. Just wondering if there is a sleep timer or something that I can't find which is causing this to happen? I have checked that "sleep" is off but thought there might be something else causing this to happen.
I had this issue. But found that i had to re-tune my TV. What kind of attennna are u using? The problem youre describing is the issue i use to have when i use a bunny ear attenna and last year when it kept saying no signal. I discover that the signal changed so re-tuning fixed it.
