Hi..im a senior citizen who recently purchased tested glasses from specsavers ixopo south africa.the optometrist was very pleasant. but did not advise me about the difference in the multi focals and bifocal.lens . .
As Its my first time i was unaware of multifocals and bifocals
And after having my eyes tested my glasses arrived after 2 weeks .
im verry dissapointed at the demarcation of the biofocals lens and am feeling it difficult to adjust . .to it....
as i payed a large amout of money for it .why was i not advised in the beggining about the difference
I don't mind paying the differnce ..but all my friends have the multifocals and their lens are one whole glass . .not a blob of thick glass at the bottom end ..like mine ..
Whereas here now the optometrist is telling me that if i change them .a small portion at the bottom of the glasses will be for reading and will have that blob of thick reading part at the end ..but other ..optical retailers offer the whole glass being clear making vision much easier . I chose to come to specsavers thinking id get the best service .
Now i must return these pay extra money and still be unhappy as its my first tested glasses .kindly advise dussapointed senior citizen .

I transacted 2 pairs for $249 in 04/21 at Chadstone Melbourne Vic and paid an extra $19 for the ones I wanted. Unfortunately I bent one of the arms on the sunglasses. I was passing Specsavers Oakleigh and asked if they could repair them and they said no, I must take them back to Chadstone. Is this correct and if so can are they covered under warranty? Thank you

Specsavers Redbank Qld insist that I am not entitled to have the original lenses from the sunglasses that I have just purchased from them with prescription and polarized lenses. Please tell me this is not so because I also wear contact lenses and that would mean that I cannot use the original lenses as sunglasses when I am wearing the contacts? Why are Specsavers advertising RACQ members discount when they havent applied it to my account?

Hi Maureen,
Yes I'm sure Specsaverswill address your complaint. You are entitled to get a copy of the original configeration of your glasses. If your glasses do not conform to these specifications, you have a very strong case for incorrect lenses.

1. I have frameless titanium arm glasses from Specsavers. Every 2 months I have to go back to the store to have the frames re-plugged because they become so loose they fall off. Is this normal.
2. My major problem with Specsavers glasses is that the coatings (which they insist MUST be applied to strengthen frameless glasses) simply wears or falls off after about 18 months and looks so awful my friends comment on it. I use Specsaver microfibre cloths and cleaning fluid. What is the problem please?
