The best washing machine I have ever owned
I have just purchased this washing machine last week. I have been using the machine since Friday and I am extremely satisfied with it. I don't know why I waited so long to purchase one, as all the other washing machine I have owned could not even come close to a match on this one. It is wonderful to finally have well washed clothed.

Love It
excellent, it washes so well, and is very quiet, the whole machine is my favourite feature. I choose one with time delay because of my limited time, but I rarely have to use it, it is so fast. The Machine is very well manufactured so very solid. You only have to look at the machine to see how well it is made. I have had other brands of washing machines but never have I used one this good. I hope I never have to use any other brand ever again. I love my speed queen.CES

From a Bad experience from a Simpson Washing machine(only 3 year old) to a great Speed Queen washing
I thought when I did my first wash from my new speed Queen that it was broken but no it was so quite, it did not bang across my laundry floor and the clothes came out clean not like my last two washing machines (two in 6 years). I brought it from Harvey Norman in Townsville and what a nice experience I received from a wonderful lady called Dora, so full of information on the washing machine and the follow up information she and her helpful staff emailed me. Wow not used to good service. Do not let me get started about Retravision and their junk . I was most surprised when Speed Queen rang me to ask how my washing machine was.

IF FOR HOME USE ONLY PURCHASE FRONT LOADER
Everyone knows that speed queen is the best, yet what i feel people are unaware of is that the machine is commercial. I read this forum before purchasing and only wish that someone would of pointed out what i have found after 2 months of use. This machine is very tough on your clothes, I MEAN VERY TOUGH. All our clothing is very expensive and i may have to purchase a new machine as it is so strong for fine materials, the clothing will fall apart. The lint is a massive problem so my wife must be very careful with different loads as everything is covered in fluff. Great machine but for home/ personal use only go for the front loader.

Solid Reliable Machine
Great machine. Works well and is easy to operate. We had a Kleenmaid for 20 years before this one and quality seems to be the same. Machine is quiet. It is good comfort knowing that Speedqueen offer 5 years warranty on both labour & parts. We would recommend this to anyone prepared to spend the extra money.

Fantastic Speed Queen
I love my new Speed Queen. Washing cycles are short and the machine is so quiet. It washes well in both cold and hot water. The controls are easy to use and I love that I can set my favourites. Customer service has already been in touch with me to make sure I am happy and can use the machine. I would recommend Speed Queen to anyone.

Fantasic makes washing a breeze
The clothes are cleaner even in cold water, the clothes come out tangle free,it is a lot quieter than my old machine I love the simplicity of use and the how quick it does a load. The soak feature is a real bonus just set and forget
Without a doubt the best washing machine I've had in a long time
I would recommend Speed Queen without hesitation and i have already
Did I mention the great customer service I had when I rang Speed Queen direct! Nothing is a problem

New Speed Queen
I moved to the Speed Queen from a front loader that use to always stop mid cycle and took forever to do a load of washing. I love the ease of getting a load of washing done quickly and the ease of the settings. The machine is quiet and before I know it the washing is ready to hang out. My only complaint would be that now my black clothing now has fluff or lint all over it where this didn't happen with the front loader, maybe it could use a lint filter. I'm very happy and hope for a long lasting lifespan.

Great Machine, very reliable, great quality, easy to use
We had a Kleenmaid (rebadged Speed Queen) for 39 years that used to get used every second day 2 to 3 washes. It was a fantastic machine, breaking down the purchase price over 39 years it cost us approx $33.00 per year. When it finally died we didn't even consider any other brand of washing machine. The only maintenance that was ever done to it was approx 3 years ago I replaced a water pump. I'm sure this new machine will be just as great, there are things on the new machine that are identical to our old Kleenmaid. When you have a great product why change it !!!!!!!!!! Have told a number of people about the long life of our old Kleenmaid (Speed Queen)

What a blessing
We had a Whirlpool dud which finally died after 5 years. I didn't want to get another machine that would potentially have a similar lifespan and was keen to find a machine that didn't have a computer panel on the front. The SpeedQueens had great reviews and our model AWNA62 only has dial's to operate it. The price make's you suck your breath in but if it lasts 20yrs (a possibility) it'll be worth the $2500 pricetag. It's a fantastic machine, washes in the time it says it will - 30 mins for basic normal wash. Everything comes out clean, and...Read more
you can fit so much in even though it has a 7.5kg capacity...I really can't believe how quick it is, our old machine would programme for 35 mins but always take up to an hour, and it is no more noisy than any other machine. In fact it reminds me of my mum's old Hoover that she had for nearly 20 yrs when I was a kid. Great machine - all white goods companies should be taking note and make washing machines like they used to. SIMPLY with no silly computers.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

A Real Washing Machine
After a Hoover and a couple of Simpson Washing Machines over the last twelve years. ( None of which totally failed but developed various faults ) again I needed a new machine.
After those "cheaper units" this time I decided that I wanted something more substantial.
That is commercial grade, like the ones in laundrettes, and that turned out to be Speed Queen, because laundrettes is where they are installed
Commercial quality comes at a price and with the Aussie dollar down, and with the Speed Queen being made in the USA the cost is a ra...Read more

Recovering from front loader
After going through 3 front loaders in 6 years (each having a different issue, all just outside of warranty, of course), I took the plunge and bought one of these. It arrived yesterday morning. I have done maybe ten loads since then (banked up laundry).
The biggest upside is that it gets in and gets the job done fast. It's very basic. Clothes come out clean and fresh and well rinsed. Rinsing was a big problem with the front loaders, not just because of the soap, but things like nappies and sheets still smelling like urine. No issues with this...Read more

***Life Changing!!!*** Speed Queen AWNA62 7.5kg Top Load Washing Machine
I'm in love. By far the best machine I've owned! Never did I think I'd be raving about white goods to my friends and family. I have two small children under 5yo who, as you can imagine, generate a great deal of washing on a daily basis.
This marvellous machine perfectly washes larger items such as quilts and quilt covers etc with ease. No more taking them to the Laundromat or dry cleaners! As long as I put my delicates in a zip-up delicates-bag, they are never tangled or damaged like I used to find would happen with my old machine.

vourite features (it's a long list..!): a robust but nice-looking machine, surprisingly quiet, so simple to use, can easily handle a large volume at once, and a full cycle is complete in under 30 minutes which makes it so easy to get through a weeks worth of washing in no time at all... meaning I'm no longer spending my entire weekend trying to get through countless loads of washing.. bonus!! A Speed Queen Electric Dryer is now firmly on my wish lift for 2016!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

New it wouldn't let me down.
I new that I had to buy the Speed Queen after having a Maytag for 15 years then a dodgy LG. Perfect wash every time. No tangles, no lint, easy on the clothes and simple dial turn wash cycles that are quick and efficient. If your looking for a quiet washing machine this isn't for your. It is a bit noisy but so many positives outweigh the one negative. Make the investment you won't regret it.

Speed Queen number 2
I am just saying goodbye to my old Speed Queen washing machine. It is 22 years old and the serviceman who came today is the first I have ever had to call. It has washed for a family of 6 for 22 yrs and has never missed a beat. I really feel like I got my money's worth.
I am looking forward to meeting my new Speed Queen on Tuesday.

I'm in love.
I have to say that we took a giant leap of faith in buying this machine, which has been completely worth it.
Our Simpson front loader died suddenly after 10 annoying years of smelly washing, mouldy door seals which couldn't & wouldn't come clean, and ridiculously long wash cycles. Sadly, it happened after a series of other household mishaps and we were absolutely skint.
We are a low income household and are struggling - we simply couldn't afford to choose poorly and find ourselves in the same situation again a few years down the track. My n...Read more

What a Washing Machine should be..SOLID WORK HORSE
I have only had my Speed Queen for 2 months. At last a washing machine that has the basic functions that I wanted. No touch sensitive pads and lcd display but knobs. Select your wash size, temperature setting, wash cycle and press start. Simple and Just perfect. I am so happy with the wash result, no sign of lint on clothes and as I use the normal wash cycle and water option, 35 minutes to complete my wash. Spins the clothes very well and no tangles. This machine also takes a huge wash including a very large velour blanket which washed bea...Read more
utifully. The machine is not noisy either and I love the flat lid. I did not want a washing machine with 30 plus wash cycles and flimsy electronic displays with annoying beeps and just refused to buy one. I love my new Speed Queen for its solid simplicity and hope it lasts me for the next 20 years. Yes it is unfortunate that you have to pay so much money for this machine and I struggled thinking about it and if I could afford to but to date have no regrets.. Thankyou Speed Queen for bucking the trend with this sturdy commercial quality machine.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Old fashioned, expensive & reassuringly solid
I had my Hoover top loader for 20 years with a couple of small problems (belt wore out, part of the controller failed) & I like things to last. This machine is solid & washes & spins very well. The water use is extravagant but I have found a way to recycle the wash water (eg after bedsheets to wash jeans) by its self siphoning action. I have to be a bit careful with lint because there is no lint filter so I return the water through a fine gauze.
The user guide book said that the "mini" water setting was suitable for 1-2 permanent press shirts ...Read more

I have accidentally pressed the High Efficiency button, how long will this soak for? And how can I get out of that setting now during this wash? It has been flashing for an hour
4 answers
Hi Leah, I checked the manual because I don't personally use the high efficiency setting . All it seems to say is to expect soaking during the agitation portion of the cycle. The IN USE, RINSE and SPIN status lights will flash one after the other during the soak periods. It's been several hours since you posted the question. Did your machine eventually complete the cycle? If it's still flashing I'd contact SpeedQueen in case it has a faulty module.
Hey, sounds normal, it has multiple long soak times and some washing actions with this setting.
My machine on this setting, washes / soaks for around 90 - 100 mins. ( A light flashes when its doing the soaking thing )
thank you
Shara F.asked
Hi there. Can you tell me how we add extra water when we add extra clothes? I dont think it can be done. Also I found that I could not start at the beginning of cycle unless I turned off the machine at the machine then turned it off at the power then turned the dial to the beginning. Is there an easier way?
2 answers
Not too sure whether this will work, but if you haven't started the cycle in wash mode, you should be able to increase wash level by leaving the lid up during water fill.
Ill try that next time. Thank you.
