WWK300AWe purchased this heat pump 3 months ago and have been very unhappy with it. Apart from the normal fan noise, it also emits a louder vibrating noise and a ringing. We all shower in the evening so it runs all night and is vey noisy. After complaining to Steibel, they sent out an electrician who placed a bit of extra pipe inside and walked away, saying "that's how noisy it is". After further complaints to Steibel, they sent their "electrician with attitude" out again. This time he unscrewed the top, removed some washers and was unable to pu
... Read moret the top back on properly so left it partially unsecured. He recommended we put some sort of muffs around it to quieten it and put it on a timer so it only runs during the day. We are now faced with another $900 to move it further away from the house. Haven't received a power bill yet, but let's hope it makes up for all the extra costs. Good size - provides enough hot water for a family of five. Despite their claims, this system is much noisier than an air conditioner.
Happy except for P & T valve
WWK300AVery efficient - reduced h/w electricity bill by approx. 60%
Initially had it on Off Peak 1 (I'm in Sydney)which only heats at night, but didn't cope so switched to Off Peak 2, which heats middle of day as well, and now does the job very well. Just have to pay a higher off peak tariff but well worth it compared to old element system I had.
Noise is not a problem, can't hardly hear it 10m away inside the house

Pressure and Temperature (P&T) valve started dripping after approx. 14 months and the installer (PROFLO Sydney) won't cover under warranty. Wanted $280 to replace it. Stiebel Eltron did however send a free replacement valve to me..

WWK300AWhen the guy told me that it uses less power than a toaster I was skeptical, but when I did the research I found that it runs on about a 1/4 of the power. That is if the toaster ran for a full hour... very clever sales guy!

Great Product and technology
WWK300AWhen I first started looking into my options for hot water I came across the heat pump system and I thought it would be perfect as I can't get gas to my house and the fact that it uses just 2 amps(the same as my toaster) was a great selling point.
I had never heard of Stiebel Eltron before and after doing my research found that they are not only one of the biggest hot water companies in Europe but they are market leaders for heat pump technology.
This system has saved me money and although when it is cold it does run for longer than I expected it hasn't affected my electric bill.
I haven't had any problems with mine yet and all seems to be fine.

WWK300AHAfter some communication hurdles, i have to say the Customer Service from Stiebel Eltron was excellent. Thanks to Simon Weatherburn and his team I had my problem resolved within 3 Days. I have a WWK 300 AH Solar hot water system that worked well providing our family with lots of Solar heated hot water. We had a hiccup & Simon and his team were quick to respond and i am one happy customer. I recommend Stiebel Eltron Solar Hot Water to all.

WWK300AWe have ongoing problems with our unit. The first unit lasted just under two years before being rendered useless, although it took nearly a week to sort it out and get it replaced. (Try having no hot water with 3 kids and 2 adults for a week) After replacing the entire unit, the second one has now died only 8 months in. Very dissapointed as we were sold this unit under the promise of reliability over compeitors!

WWK300AIt provides us with plenty of Hot Water. I still believe that all these Heat Pumps are to expensive for what they are. Hopefully our electricity bill will be cheaper???? The other matter to consider is I hope these units last at least 20 years because they are all ver expensive a the moment and it will take a long time to recover your up front costs on all these style of Hot water sytems.
The Stiebel Unit so far hsbeen very good. We have hd the unit for 3 months now. I would recommend for you Hot Water heating purposes.

WWK300ANot suitable for urban environments: too noisy. Not suitable anywhere near any living spaces. If you can hide it behind a concrete wall then the efficiency might be worth it, but otherwise I would recommend against Stiebel.
Seems quite efficient... it has been cheaper to run, even when temperatures drop to near zero.
Very, very noisy. Unacceptably. As another reviewer mentioned, Stiebel have shrugged their shoulders and walked away: ours does the loud vibration and ringing as well. A friend has another brand which is whisper quiet... so this is not "normal". As a comparison, when standing beside our house's heat pump (which is 4 times as powerful) the Stiebel is 20m away and around a corner but is louder even at that distance.

Nothing but trouble - very disappointed.
WWK300AUnit cannot cope with cold winters.We live in the Southern Highlands of NSW and had the unit installed in 2009 after reading reviews and being sold on all the "state of the art technology". Bad decision. We have suffered over the past two winters with virtually no hot water at all.The unit heats the water to a mild warm temp during the day and then chills it overnight. We wake every morning to luke warm water which lasts for about 5-7 mins of showering then turns shockingly cold.

WWK300AProvides enough hot water for 2 adults and two teenagers (who take long showers) and sometimes extra visitors without ever running out of hot water. Operates on Off-peak tariff No.2. There will be extra expense in 3-5 years time when the sacrificial anode needs inspection and possible replacement. Stiebel Eltron in Sydney could not tell me how often the anode needed inspection or how long it will last. ... Read moreome orange staining down the side of the unit from where the upper pipe penetrates the tank. Stiebel Eltron Sydney advised that both these things will not affect the operation of the unit. The Stiebel Eltron has had zero problems so far (12 months since installation). It provides all the hot water we need and saves on electricity. The unit only cost me $400 after applying all rebates and RECS a year ago in Sydney. Not a criticism of the unit but of the installer. He mounted it on the existing concrete plinth which turned out to be too small for the unit. One of the three support feet was unsupported. He had to return and reinstall on a bigger plinth. There was no extra cost involved but only inconvenience of emptying out the tank and remounting on the new concrete plinth. You would think that an experienced installer would check such a detail before filling the tank.

WWK300AWe got our unit 2008 . We had trouble with water blowing out of fan in March and was told to remove a plug did that. In June kept running out of hot water told by the office that this was normal and they freeze up in cold weather .Had a new fan put in June not cheep still running out of hot water great it is not under warranty, how much this time

WWK300ASunshine hot water installed this hot water heater today & i must say how easy the process was, did not have to pay a deposit, just paid after it was done & given the state & federal rebate forms to claim them back.
Not sure how last persons review could even reflect the experience i had. 10 out of 10 for product, service & price it took 5 hours from enquiry to being installed, hot water makes happy wife & kids

WWK300AI needed to replace my leaking hot water tank quickly, and when my plumber suggested Heat Pumps, I got a little timid and decided to look into it. WWK300AHas slashed our hot water heating costs by about 70%. Has provided hot water for all our family (4 sometimes 5) through these winter monhs without a problem. Does what it is supposed to do. Well engineered piece of kit not like some of the other junk heat pumps out there. Do your research and then buy this one if you need a hot water heat pump.

Can be a little noisey if it is near a bedroom window. Can be slow to recover which coulc be a problem during the heart of winter. With a family of 4 you MUST run it on OFF PEAK 2 controlled load.

None. We thought noise might be an issue but we were advised to install a timer so the unit only operates in daylight hours. Works great.

WWK300AI have had the heater installed for just over 6 months now, replacing my old electric storage unit. I have noticed my electricity bill has been lower & we are not running out of hot water anymore. I look forward to the winter period where i should save more money.

The price was a little more expensive, but I will get over that. You have to pay for Quality. The plumber was not aware of the brand.

WWK300AI am currently waiting to have this product installed (is being installed next week) but I am posting for the person who couldn't find anyone in Brisbane to install. We are having ours installed by the Solar Guys and so far they have been very courteous and efficient unlike 2 other companies, one of which did not turn up on the install day! I am confident that this product will live up to my expectations and I will review again once it is up and running.

This is something we take up very seriously as anyone with "attitude", as you say, undermines our continuous effort to provide top class aftermarket support and service. We do have noise reduction baffles that are screwed on the casing, in front of the grills. These cut down unacceptable noise considerably and it would be a much preferred (and cheaper) option than moving the entire system. Usually, one of these baffles on the compressor side is enough.
