Hi - is there anywhere that lists the details of each Cycle? I'd like to know warming period, knead time, rise time, & bake time and can't find all of that in the manual.

Hi Jenn P, the instruction booklet does not list the actual times for all the functions.
All the times vary according to the actual type of bread you are making and therefore listing may not be entirely accurate.

I have been very happy with my bread maker & make 2 or 3 loaves a week. It is just that I read somewhere you can remove the paddle after the ‘knock down’ before the final rise so you don’t get a big tear in the loaf & wondered if it is possible with this machine.

Sunbeam
Customer C.Sunbeam

Hi Laraine. There is no option to pause the bread maker during any of the cycles. Some people switch the power off mid cycle to flatten the paddle but this is something that Sunbeam don't recommend as it has never been tested in our test kitchen. This may also compromise the end result of your loaf of bread.

I took mine back for a refund Luisa, out of three loaves I managed to make one that was sort of edible. Flat and heavy but we managed to eat it with soup. By itself I probably wouldn’t have. Getting back to your question, if you’ve set the timer for 12 hours the bake process is normally about two hours. It will mix then knead followed by rest/rise the cook.

Sunbeam
Customer C.Sunbeam

Hi Luisa. At setting 9 the machine will start with a 30 minute preheat cycle to activate the yeast and prevent the bread from becoming too dense.

Hi Rebecca...Please follow the instructions on the Lauke packet. You will need to match up the quantity as close to as possible as in what size loaf you are making. The water amount may be adjusted. Can reduce by 20 mls. Hoping this helps...if you need any further assistance please call us on 1300 881 861

How do i know when it is going onto second cyle to add other ingredients required in the recipe?

Is it when the fruit dispenser is emptying is that a good indication?

There’s one of the programs that gives you a chime when it’s time to manually add ingredients. Otherwise use the automatic shute

Urs

Some recipes require you to add most of the ingredients but then ask ypu add remaining ingredients like say salami or a dry mixture on the second cycle so.im just confused when to do it as im sure i didnt here any beeps only the dispenser dispensering.

I love my bake house, I tend to use the dough recipe though because the blade doesn’t collapse (not a problem) my problem is that occasionally the blade comes off during the cycle and leaves a horrible grey mark in the dough which if I don’t get it all out looks bad in the loaf. Any suggestions on how to avoid this would be appreciated.
Thanks

The paddle in mine seems to have a ceramic type of coating so I haven’t experienced any discolouration in my loaves. Maybe consult the manufacturer

Thanks Beekay, I think I will do that, I am getting frustrated with the problem, I tend to go through phases where the blade doesn’t come off during the kneading process so no problem..

Same problem as you - went online got instructions for BM2500
If you are an Aussie you are lucky - us Kiwis only get 2 recipies. My no-fail recipe I used for my last breadmaker doesn't even work!
The Bakehouse Compact allows you to delay
the completion of your bread by up to 13
hours, so you can wake up to the smell of
freshly baked bread, or go out for the day
while your Bakehouse Compact does all the
work.
Note: Do not use the Time Delay when the
recipe has perishable ingredients such as
milk, eggs or cheese as these may spoil.
(1. )Follow steps 1 – 4 on page 6:
Step 1
Insert the kneading blade into the bread pan.
Step 2
Add ingredients into the bread pan before
placing in the bread maker.
1. Liquid ingredients
2. Dry ingredients
3. Yeast
Step 3
Insert the bread pan into the baking chamber
until you hear a click sound and close the
lid.
Step 4
Select the desired menu using the MENU
button..
(2.) Press and buttons until you reach
the number of hours and minutes you
want your bread to be ready. Press to add
or minus time in 10 minute intervals.
(3.) Follow remaining steps 6 - 7 on page 6.
Step 6
Select the crust colour using the CRUST
button.
Step 7
Press the START button
Note: You do not need to take into account
the amount of time required to cook the
program selected. This is automatically
registered in the Bakehouse Compact

I've just used the wheat function (menu selection no. 3) & it doesn't start... just some strange clicking sounds as though it wants to but can't. Is there normally a delay with the wheat function # 3? I've changed it to French setting & it starts right away. All other setting I've used so far also seem to start straight away. No delay to the timing was programmed in so can't be that....

I use only program 3 for multigrain bread using a bought premix. There is a 30 delay before the mixing begins as standard. After 30 mins it should start and then some minutes later, clicks occur with the opening for the nut/raisins, etc, additives. If mixing doesn't start after 30 minutes, then there is something wrong with the machine.

I have had a lot of trouble getting a decent loaf, Finally managed it this week, but jury is out pending next one and the 'Hole' in the base. As far as I can see, one is always going to have a hole of varying size in the bottom, as the blade ALWAYS sticks laid down in the bread. Sometimes it comes out with the bread, but I believe that's if the dough was too wet. Then it has to be hooked out. If it cooks correctly, the blade stays in the pan. Frankly, I turn the pan over as soon as it's done and shake it as carefully as I can. I also use a flexible spatula around the sides to ease it a few times. If the bread is the right consistency, the blade does stay laid down in the pan and in fact I find it needs to be soaked in water before you can get it out to clean it. I use a bought ready made multi grain bread mix with 600 gm mix and 350 mls water, but it obviously depends what you are using. I am in Queensland, Aus and buy a 5kg bag from Coles. Not much more I can tell you, but like you I am irritated by the blade and the damage to the loaf in that area. People tell me this doesn't happen with the Panasonic, but how that is avoided I have no idea. All the best.

Sandi

Thank you Nelson - my blade has never come out it seems to be stuck but I just tried another load (mmmm herb and garlic) and I waited 10 minutes before I tried to get it out and I rang the spatular down the sides and I twisted the blade from the outside a few times before I tried to get the bread out and it came out much quicker (phew). I am in Victoria so will head to Coles I have just been using flour I had because I wasnt sure who well I would do and didnt want to buy a huge bag and then find I didnt like the breads. but I love them so off to get big bags for me.

I only use the dough cycle the blade falls out with the dough. A little kneading shape into loaf pop in the appropriate tin leave in warm spot wait till doubled in size and bake in the oven, perfectly cooked bread each time. try it sometime.

Hi Katie,
The blade is supposed to be loose so that it can collapse ....all you need to do is to make sure it is upright when you put in your ingredients...when your bread is finished you will see that the blade has collapsed and easy to take out and if too hard to remove you are supplied with a little wire hook to help you, hardly leaves a hole in the bottom....I hope this helps you, Good luck Katie

Hi All,

Our machine makes a very loud springy buzz sound when it changes from mixing to kneading. The noise is loud enough to startled us when watching TV in the next room and woke us up (with nearly 3 hours until the bread was ready) from down a hallway when we set a loaf to be ready in the morning.

Should this be happening?
And if so, is there a way to turn it down / off?

Thanks,
Adrian

I did not like this machine at all. The noise is supposed to be the mixer paddle going backwards so it will lie down flat (didn't happen with mine, it remained upright and made a huge hole in the bread.) As far as waking you up in the night goes, well yes, the mixing is quite loud so it's a choice between sleeping and waking to hot bread... um difficult choice... You will get used to the noise and not hear it after a while, like the steam train that used to pass our house - after a while we never heard it anymore but the first time we quite literally jumped out of our beds.

AdrianDennis
AdrianDennis

Thanks Bread Lover - not ideal at all.

Our paddle has never dropped flat (only about 5 loaves in), it's always in the loaf but comes out quickly and easily so we've not really had a problem with that yet.
