To their credit, Sunbeam finally suggested that I return the mixer for a store credit, which I have done with no problems. Have bought another mixer... no it's not a Sunbeam. Will see how this one goes, but so far so good :)

i love my mixer all was going great till i made a batch of cupcakes tonight when all of a sudden the large bowl became stuck on the base and i was unable to get it off... still unable to get it off. it was a good mixer up untill now the only thing wrong i noticed with it was it the beaters where too hot to touch after ejecting them from the mixer, oh and that it was quite loud. other wise brillant the bowls turned. but now i'm stuck with a 5 year olds birthday tomorrow and none of his cake made.
really pretty, work well untill it broke

It certainly sounds faulty. If it was mine I'd take it in for repair.

    Hi Briza,

I do apologise for the issues your experiencing with the MX8500R. This does sound like an issue with the PCB.

Hi the recipe I'm making says I need a paddle attachment but I have the sunbeam mixmaster Classic in red which I purchased 6 months ago and
Just noticed you can't get a paddle attachment, what do you suggest I use instead of paddle? It's for making a polish babka yeast cake? Thanks Donna

Hi, Whilst not an expert in this, the paddle is used for heavier items that a whisk can't take eg creaming (not melted) butter and sugar. So if you don't have a paddle (which is odd as this is the most general purpose tool for a mixer), then you can use a wooden spoon and a lot of "elbow grease" and it should be ok.
