higher prices than others but does the same job
I bought this from Myer ($85) to replace my old from from Harris Scarfe (used 4 years, $39). First impression is - they are the same.
same dial, same function, same design.
One thing that I don't like about Sunbeam is it doesn't have any "light" in the oven. So you can't really see too clearly if the area is not bright enough.
I have only used the Sunbeam for 2 days, so far so good. It does the job but so did my cheap one from HS.
I will report back in 6 month time to see how it is travelling.

Love it
We absolutely love it, but we've had it about 2 years and all the writing has rubbed off the machine still works beautifully but we have to guess the settings. Would be good if we could get a stick on with settings on.
Oh one big tip don't leave lid on after finished cooking as the steam can effect the motor.

When it works its Great!! BUT!!!
Last time I used it,after maybe only 7 or so uses, it appears the fan in the cooking lid unit packed it in.
Got smoke from the cooking lid, obviously the cooker section was overheating.
Its out of warranty now,so not much one can do.
Servicing in australia can now cost as much as the product cost originally, still i'm not willing to cough up another 190 bucks for another new replacement.

Good so far
First lamb roast did on top shelf as per directions, cooked nicely but burnt on the outside. Next two roasts did on bottom shelf...perfect. Best pork crackle I've ever had. Once meat removed I cooked the veggies on the bottom shelf basted in meat juice, they cook very quickly. Purchased this for caravan trips as van only has cooktop. Next will try cakes ect will let you know how it goes

Doesn't work, poor customer service
I have had 2 of these in 2 months. Both bought from Myer and neither of them even turned on. Rang sunbeam and they won't issue a recall. They said its "probably" a bad batch and to buy my third one from a different store. Absolutely no help. How am I supposed to go to another appliance retailer with a myer refund card to purchase another one? Will never buy sunbeam again if their after sales support is so unhelpful.

WOW. It has made my life very easy
I just pop my chicken, fish and chips or lunch stuff and before i know it, its done. No need to turn the food. It browns excellently cos of the fan. Food is succulent and does not dry out. No need for fats and oils and excess oils from food drain out. It easy, economical and healthy. I recommended it to my friends. They love it too.

OK but deteriorated very quickly.
I wrote a review on another brand that died within 18 months and this unit is nearing that vintage. It is working OK but the heat markings have worn off (common problem) and it came minus a silicone plug that helped steady the bowl on the unit. This was actually needed as the whole unit would vibrate t certain times but do you think I could get any sense out of Sunbeam? No way. They initially replied that they had a unit in their work kitchen but the support staff said he wrecked it trying to get it out. He just pulled at it and sheared off the...Read more
flange at one end. Didn't think to push it out! This led to many emails and they had no idea and just stopped replying to me. The concept of these bench top ovens is brilliant and the Sunbeam unit is OK but I wouldn't buy another. Plus if you have a problem good luck with getting any sense from their 'technical' staff.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Ok if you are desperate
I bought this item,as my wall oven was unrepairable, and I was trying to avoid buying a new one until I had the kitchen completely renovated. Unfortunately it is not really good enough. You can't fit much in if you are trying to bake something on a rack ( e.g. 6 muffins at a time only or one very small frozen pizza) and things burn on the top and undercook on the bottom ( even on setting and rack position as per instruction book). I did try a number of recipes and different settings, but it was next to impossible to get it right, so in the end ...Read more
I gave up and bought the wall oven. As a result, I never tried to cook a roast in it like the claim on the box, but it also says you can bake in it and you really can't. On the up side it heats up quickly and comes with enough accessories to use it for many functions so if you had to have a bench top compact item, and you had the time and patience to learn how to avoid burning the top of things, it's OK for the price.Similar opinion? Starting to emit a plastic smell when cooking
Please note that what I'm about to review probably applies to many other convection ovens.
I recently purchased a sunbeam convection two months ago and I often cook with it over the last 2 month. FIrst of all, it performed well and cooks food well and its easy to use. I was able to cook a size 12 chicken within an hour from near frozen.
Unfortunately cleaning is a problem. Now what the ads and others say about self-cleaning is only partly true. The large glass tempered bowl is easy to clean and can easily cleaned via the self cleaning fu...Read more
nction. What they don't tell you that is that the top unit where all the motors and heating element is nearly impossible to clean without using a screw driver. Over the last week, I also noticed some of the grease has gotten onto the heating ring and white holders securing the heating ring and it looks like both have black stuff against them in some areas. When cooking of course, there will occasionally be some grease splashing against the unit especially if you use the higher rack. Unfortunately it seems as if it the build up of grease against the unit overall is causing the unit to give off a mild burning smelling that is quite irritating (its a mild plastic smell) or possibly a loose wire somewhere. Now I can't cook because my whole apartment stinks of this strange smell which is irritating to my nose and throat. There's no smoke or anything indicating anything is amiss but since last week as mentiined, I haven't been able to use it without coughing. I've run the cleaning cycle a few times but it doesn't really seem to affect it. The grill is attached by screws and there is nothing in the manual which suggests I should be unscrewing them to clean behind or to use anything stronger than standard liquid detergent and water to clean. If this were a 'normal' oven, I would suspect a baking with jif or baking soda would sort it out.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great but broke way to soon
Bought one of these, had at holiday house for 18 months, cooked fine but after maybe 6 times used just stooped. The idea that Sunbeam means quality seems a little ridiculous now. Will probably just buy cheap brand in future.

Happy consumer
Recently bought the product, cooking seems to be super easy and quicker compared to our normal oven and usually less mess. I have only had this product for a short time but has worked well so far and will try and cook meals more often using the NutriOven

No longer love this machine. Its no better than the cheap microvecs half the price.
I wish to add to my review of May 2012 (which was somehow wrongly attributed to Jill0353).
After less than 2 years my Sunbeam NutriOven has stopped working, so it actually lasted no longer than my previous 2 cheaper microvecs, less actually. The cheaper ones at less than half the price lasted longer than 2 years. Disappointed with Sunbeam.

Best birthday present ever!!
I have wanted one of these since I seen Mr T advertising the airwave.
My mum bought me the nutriOven for my birthday last October and I love it. I rarely use my oven any more and when I do, it's to roast veggies or bake cupcakes and muffins since I haven't got around to buying trays to fit in. It has been out of action for a few weeks though after my partner turned it on to preheat and left the tongs inside and the red plastic stuff melted off :( very disappointed and don't know where to buy a new pair.
Reliable, inexpensive, easy to clean and I think everything smells better in a nutriOven

Hi Jess90, for spare parts please contact https://www.sunbeam.com.au/en/Service--Support/Service-Support/
I did send a message to sunbeam when it happened (Christmas 2012) but never got a response. I still love using my nutrioven for cooking roasts.

Worked OK until the glass exploded. - Update
After the last glass bowl exploded, we were provided a new NutriOven free of charge.
Apparently you're not supposed to use it for casserole type meals unless using an inner dish.
I made the mistake of braising my dinner directly in the glass bowl, and then topping up with water which created a thermal shock, cracking the glass.
I don't remember reading in the manual not to use this product this way, but I may have just missed it.
I will continue to use this oven, although very carefully.
I'm giving this review 5 stars to balance out the previous review.
Good customer service
Must be extra careful not expose glass to thermal shock

perect oven
Simply the best ovens on the market. nothing beats this for roast meats, chops, sausages. crispy pastry when reheating pies / pasties. can even do spring rolls / chiko rolls without he oil.. line the bottom with foil or an aluminum pie tin when cooking meat to collect fat for easier cleaning, Roast spuds don't remain crispy for long. health benefits of food cooked in these are amazing. also can be used in caravans when going away, i would be lost without 1 of these
Perfect roasts, glass bowl.efficient, price
Needs a flip up lid. heavy

I enjoy cooking with oven
This is the best cooking machine I have used it saves me time in cooking and cleaning is so easy much better than cleaning the oven I hate cleaning my oven there is no difference in the flavour of the food I just find I use this machine for almost everything.
Easy to clean and easy to use

I have one of these and it's fabulous for doing roasts without the fat spatter to clean up afterwards. the self cleaning feature is easy, but I find roasting vegies a little difficult.
I bought one today after reading your good reviews, worked really well for half an hour then the top glass shattered all over our dinner!! it was only set at 190c. I'll see how I go when I take it bac... Read more

How long should it take for the nutrioven to heat up when you first turn it on?

Hello, I have had my oven 3/4 months, I use it every day and it’s never missed a beat.
However, I went to clean last night and noticed stain on base if holder, then found two long cracks in the base of the glass?
Also, after reading posts, I ld like to add that my controls panel had been rubbing off early in use too - I think this is a manufacturing fault?
Thank you and kind regards,
