Sick of eating Teflon!

This is our second Sunbeam cooker and still the teflon is coming off. I tried to buy a replacement bowl; was quoted $80!!! only $10 less than whole new cooker.
rice doesn't have to be watched. just turn on and leave.
Teflon started coming off within the first month of use

We have found that this rice cooker lasts about 1 - 1 1/2 years. Our first one which we got, 1 week before the warranty ran out, the non stick coating on the bowl started to really lift off giving grey flakes of ? teflon at the bottom of your rice. Needless to say we returned it to David Jones and got a replacement. Unfortunately the 2nd one has the same problem but after 18 months. The non stick coating is poor. We have never used any harsh cleaning agents apart from elbow grease to get rid of the dried burnt rice.
Completely sealed unit. Rice cooks well.
Non Stick Coating on the rice bowl just doesn't last. Burnt hard rice at the bottom if keep warm left on too long.

Excellent rice cooker, have had mine for 4 years and is used at least weekly and there are only a few very light scratches on the non-stick bowl. Much better cooker than those with removable lids, as the sealed lids cook quicker and less mess from steam/condensation.
Consistent and quick cooking. Sealed lid keeps steam in really well.
I find using the 'keep warm' function for any longer than an hour or two results in burnt rice on the bottom. But if used within 2 hours its fine.

I want to make black garlic using steamer which means steamer will be on for 14 days or longer. I have 2 questions to make. 1: can I skip cook mode? 2: can I keep steamer on for many days safely? Thank you for your immediate response as I am keen to make black garlic sooner.

Hi Kt. You cannot override the cooking times. this machine is not intended to be used for such extended periods of time.

RE: Sunbeam RC5600 7 Cup Rice Cooker and Steamer (RC5600)]
Harvey Norman advised me that you can purchase a replacement bowl for this rice cooker directly through Sunbeam as a spare part, quote the model number RC5600 :-
Sunbeam spare parts Ph:1300-881-861. Trouble was the part was horrifically priced. I think around $30 + shipping. I didnt rush out and buy the spare.

Sunbeam do the right thing: reduce the price of your aluminium rice bowl and improve the flaking teflon coating

Yes I want to be environmentally responsible and not just throw out Rice Cooker due to small amount of teflon coming off the rice cookers bowl ...
