TOYOTA ALTISE 2010
I bought this car brand new. Worst thing I ever did. When I picked it up, by the time I got home I noticed a rattle coming from the car. It was hard to work out what it actually was and where it was coming from. I took it back to the dealer. He yelled at me asking why I had tried to take the door off lol Well I told him I didnt, he didnt believe me and was so rude. Apparently the door was loose, this should of been a warning something was wrong with this car. After picking it up I was driving home from work down the Toowoomba range (ve...Read more
ry steep hill) and I noticed the car was vibrating badly. I took it back to the dealer and he said there was nothing wrong with it. I took it to Goodyear to get it checked out and they said I needed new discs errr what its a brand new car!! I again took it back to the dealer and told them what Good year said and they laughed and brushed it off said there was nothing wrong with the car. I ignored the vibration cos by this stage I was just sick to death of them brushing me off. I got a flat down at the end of the range grrrhhhh. The cars tyre and rim was stuck I couldnt get it off and had to call Road side assist. The bolts had rusted completely on the wheel, the poor guy had to almost break the bolts to get them off, which proved that the dealership had never rotated the tyres when it was serviced. So I decided to take the car else where to get it serviced. I told the the guys about the vibration of the vehicles front end that Toyota ignores. So he gave me a wheel alignment and a wheel balance. Didnt do anything, vibration was still there. IN the end coming down the Toowoomba range again the car lost control of its steering. Was so dangerous I pulled over without hitting someone, which was amazing. The car was then towed to Toowoomba dealership and the rare toe adjuster had completely snapped and told me I was lucky to be alive. They refused to fix it under warranty stating that I must of hit a curb lol (I hadnt, I dont have curbs where I park nor in my 200 mtr driveway). I no longer felt safe driving this car. I took it to Pedders in Ipswich to have a very good look at it. When I picked it up they told me that the front left hand side strut was almost at a right angle and that I must of had a major accident in the car. Hmm nope. He said that I couldn't of bought the car new and it must of been a demo, again I said no. I took it back to Toyota, again they refused to fix it and said that it was within their guidelines. I had to pay to get it fixed myself. If that wasnt bad enough. Coming down the range again the car simply died. I rang up Road side assist again and he told me the cars motor was stuffed and again the car was towed back to Toyota. Again the refused to fix it. I threw the keys at them and walked away. I paid $38000 for this hunk of crap, due to the issues with the car they only got $12000 for it. I went out and bought a 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer 1 yr older and have it till this day. Never skipped a beat and paid half the price for it and it was a hired car haha. I have always owned a Toyota. Never ever again In the market now for a newer car. Its hard to say no to a lancer but the car hasn't changed much over the years and want something different. Shame or I would of bought another one. Verdict, this car is a hunk of crap. Toyota do not honor their warranties. Car was less than 12 mths old and had only done 88000km haha according to the malfunctioning taco, which they claim there was nothing wrong with. Had my Lancer now for 7yrs and has done just over 150,000, what does that tell you? If you are looking for a used vehicle go with a Lancer and keep away from these cars, my friends has done over 300000km and still doesnt have to put oil in it unlike my Old Corolla which had done 100 000km after 5yrs. Never ever buy a car from Ross llewellyn Toyota in ipswich QldSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Cigarette and aux socket, bluetooth connection with phone is......pain....
1. I tried to connect my phone to camry 2011 bluetooth is not easy so watch it in the youtube.... give up...
2. Aux and cigarette socket to charge my phone is terrible. It is deep inside and very hard to reach even though I have small hands. Every time I connect to aux or charge my phone in pain.
Otherwise the car itself is fine.

Hybrid Battery replacement - no drama
I got 443000 km out of the original HV battery on my Camry
Yes, Toyota is expensive but Prius Battery Exchange in Sydney did it for about half the cost .
They keep the old one.
Could not be happier and can see why most Taxis in Australia changing over to Hybrids now.

Another great machine from Toyota, very quiet inside, fun drive, this car has very comfy seats and plenty of pace for the whole family, only negative thing is less boot space due to batteries in the back of the car the. Never had any problem with this car. Very fuel efficient. I have done over 60,000 km it still hasn't required breaks replacement. Highly recommended.

Its okay but there are some pretty bad problems.
The car is a 2007 Toyota Camry Altise and it looks okay and is nice to sit in, but driving is a problem with the back window being really small with no reverse camera or sensors, there are huge rear blind spots which make changing lanes risky. The car feels well powered but the automatic transission feels sluggish and hessitant. I would recommend this car however but not the Altise I would recommend getting a model with reverse camera or parking sensors to make the car better but other than that it is pretty comfortable to sit in and a huge roomy boot.

ACV 40 Toyota Camry
The only problem I'm getting with my 2008 camry is the dashboard, it's too soft it is deteriorating and I am using alot of fuel don't matter how much servicing I do. The steering rack keeps noise sometimes and the stereo isn't the best but it carries some nice sounding speakers my kids and I love it.

This car is perfect. Low running costs, good performer roomy interior!
Have just clocked 160,000km and this car is still going very strong. 2010 model. Quality is on par with any Toyota. High K's and all components still work perfectly. Nothing has ever gone wrong with this car!! Definitely recommend. Fuel economy of a small 4cyl car with the space and power of a larger 6cyl car!

Soul destroying driving
I had a Camry provided by work and I'm so glad I don't drive it anymore. The car is oversized and underpowered - hard to park, very uncomfortable seats even for long journeys (imagine doing 800km trips!) and the most under featured modern car I've ever been in. Mine didn't even have an input for MP3 player just a really bad CD radio which looked like it was from 1995 and sounded cheap and tinny.
The fuel consumption was fairly high and overtaking was risky on country roads. Like other posters mine had suspension problems where it would pull to one side when driving and it needed significant work done. If you like driving a fridge on wheels get this but if you like driving and value comfort and dynamics get something else.

5 Star car
A well put together, fuel efficient car. Cheap to service and very little if anything goes wrong. Interior materials and paint is above standard as you would expect from Toyota. Probably a bit thirstier than other four cylinder cars due to its size. Japanese definitely know how to engineer cars. 5 stars .

Toyota Camry Review
Steering pulling to the left, first 100 yards, U turn back to dealer. I had several wheel alignment, both dealers and specialist, then fitted "Redranger" caster of set bushes with camber adj bolt kits. To finally fix the steering.
Radio too bright at night, my modification to earth return circuits of air conditioning control three knob unit radio bevell and radio dial, by installing reostaes in series. In north american Camrys the circuit diagrams radio dimable with speedo.
Now I have fixed these factory inbuilt faults it a good car.

Sticky dash, rattling sunroof steer clear
Although reliable, I have a late model 2007 Camry, the car had vinyl protection applied now its sticky and falling to bits. Motor One group have washed their hands of my claim saying its a manufacturing issue. Its now in the hands of Toyota to come to the party to fix we shall see what happens next ....

An example of world class engineering
I bought the 2011 Toyota Camry Hybrid, and from my first test drive I knew this was the car I would buy. I have owned other Toyota cars, hybrid and non hybrid cars like the Prius and also a 2005 Camry Altise, this car which is a 'Camry Hybrid' is in its own class. Dead quiet engine, really good pickup and braking, it glues itself onto the road. Gives a feeling of luxury and smoothness. Fuel efficiency doesn't get any better. One of the most family friendly cars ever made. Once you buy a hybrid, you will always continue to buy one. The technology is ever improving each year and the hybrid battery is made to last the life of the car.

Best Car that I have Had Since 1996
I have had my Toyota since January 2014. I do not understand why it took me so long to get a Toyota. After 2 goes at buying Korean cars which were just ok and a 1 go at buying a Chinese car which was bad news. I listened to my children all of them drive a Toyota and got a Toyota. I cannot praise my Toyota to the High standard that it is there are just no words to say other than perfect.
Forget Korean and Chinese cars and Get A Toyota.
Reliable never lets you down.

Love my big 4 cylinder
We test drove a range of 4 cylinder cars before purchasing our Toyota Camry Touring Edition 2011 Sedan.
We chose it because
- biggest 4cylinder at the time (it was hard to downgrade from 6, wanted best power, best economy)
- best performance/acceleration of four brands
- Toyota is so reliable - last new car was also a Toyota (V6 camry) lasted us 16 years
- excellent servicing, too.
It's been 2.5 years now and we LOVE it!
Smaller motor, still performs well on highway

Boring but reliable
I purchased a 2009 camry altise at the end of 2009. 70,000 kms and 4 years later, it drives and looks exactly the same as when I bought it which is a (mini) testament to its build. I have heard of cases where regularly serviced camry engines lasting more than 500,000 kms.
When compared to the V6 Arion and falcon/commodore, etc., it does lack in power, especially when we take the large heavy body into account. But having said that there has not been a situation where I needed to be doubtful or wary or mindful of its lack of power, for example...Read more
, while overtaking. Maybe you would need to be mindful when you go out west and need to overtake road trains, but I haven't driven my camry out west yet (I am in coastal North Queensland). The mileage is a bit disappointing. I usually fill about 56 L, and only get about 450-470 kms about town. But that is most likely due to the heavy air-conditioner use in our hot climate. On the open road, I easily get more than 700 kms out of one tank. It is quite spacious and comfortable. Five adults can comfortably travel long distances. Spacious, comfortable, reliable, good build. Lack of power, high fuel consumption.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Roomy family car, all the features one could want (Grande)
I purchased a 2008 Toyota Camry Grande with 60k on the clock, after owning a Honda Accord for the last 8 years I can tell you that this is a dream to drive. I bought the Grande model which has Sat Nav, leather seats and a sunroof, it is luxury at a fraction of the price of most cars with the same features. I have never been an Australian car fan but I find the features on this car excellent for the average Australian (would have preferred the square drink holder for farmers union iced coffees like on the Aurion though). Despite being a 4cl it i...Read more
s nice and quiet when cruising although can be a bit loud when cold. I hear people complaining about road noise, call me naive but after owning a car that sounded like nails on a chalkboard when driving, this car is whisper quiet. I almost bought a 2010 Mitsubishi Outlander prior to looking at the Camry's, and for the $$$ you get far more with the Camry. I have 2 children and have no issues at all with leg room, can easily fit in 3 adults in the back seat. If I did have one complaint it would be that on uneven roads you tend to feel every single bump, could be my cheap tires though. Fuel wise I get about 8.9L/100km and that is city driving so not too bad. Overall i'm very satisfied with this car, I agree that the basic Altise is rather plain and boring so if you still like the drive but want more look at the Grande model. Roomy, Comfy, stylish, has all the features one could want Slighty bouncy feel on uneven roads, typical loud 4cl engine when coldSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Excessive road noise
Have just bought a 2010 Toyota Camry sedan ex gov car from auction with 18,500 km running on 215/60 Dunlop Sport SP 300 E tyres, and am extremely disappointed with excessive road noise. My 2002 Camry was a lot quieter. I would expect changing to another tyre brand like Bridgestone would help but I am also hearing other road noise from wind. Has anyone else experienced the same?

Yes, had the Michelin's fitted and it stopped both the noise and the awful "tram tracking" experienced with the Dunlop factory tyres, these were the Michelin tyres which supposedly offer better fuel economy.
i have 2000 Camry touring. Always uses Goodyear fuel saver.. with 36 psi. drive only in hume hwy..I can hear the tyre noise.. any suggestion..

Not bad car to drive love the cruise control save heaps in speeding fines. Turning circle a bit of a bad. Toyota need to really think next time they building a car, I have had mine for about 10 months thinking of trading in for a Corolla or the Holden Cruze.
Nice to drive.
Bad turning circle. No mp3 input. No sound system controls on the steering wheel service cost at the dealers.

Does the job with no fuss
I own a 2010 Camry Altise, I purchased after having problems with my previous Falcon.
Starts up every time and always gives fantastic performance. Stereo is great, fuel economy is good - drove from Adelaide to Melbourne on one tank, ended up with 800km from a tank. Usually about 650km a tank. Everyone says it's slow but I think it does just fine, I'm surprised with the pick up.
Few annoying things - the seats, they are quite uncomfortable and not very supportive and you can't, the car is difficult to park, my falcon was easier!, the dash...Read more

Big car cabin, small car consumption
We have had our 2010 Camry Hybrid Luxury now for a few months and it is time to do a review. They are a really good car. Coming out of a Territory, we notice that the cabin is slightly smaller and that the boot is a lot smaller, but our needs are also different.
The luxury model comes with satnav, electric sunroof etc and has lots of mod cons. The boot is a little smaller than the non hybrid model due to the battery storage, but the total power is up slightly as both motors can work together.
The hybrid system is great and keeps consumptio...Read more

My Camry Grande 2010 engine does not turn off, when I tried to by pressing the start/stop button. Never heard of such a problem. Only ever heard of engine not starting. What to do?

Havent had that problem Id contract the dealer where you got it from
The problem was water leaking from windshield which was replaced 4 years back. Rain leaked in and caused electrical shorts/problems. I took it to service, they suggested I replace windscreen which I had it done. Then they cleaned the joints/junction what ever, and no problem at present. Hopefully the windscreen seal is good and durable and will not cause same problem. Totally it cost $450 for windscreen + $550 for mechanic service an total of nearly $1000.

I am looking to buy Toyota Camry hybrid 2011. But the problem is it has more then 300000km. What I have to look before I buy. Not buy this car?

Hi Riff,
I did not drive a Toyota with so many kms, however what I've heard they can do 1 mil kms when serviced properly. Look, it is probably the most reliable car you can get. Thus, examine the major parts properly such as engine (sound, start, behaviour by low and high speed, acceleration), gear box, suspension... Otherwise I believe it should be a very good car.
Best,
Andrej
The dealer told me they have no problem with older models. But of course depends on previous owner.

My 2008 Camry had a lot of tyre noise. Swicthed to a set of Michelins and the car is quiet and has a much better ride. My Camry also has wind noise.
