Quality functional baby monitor
This monitor works great for its purpose. It responds to sound and turns on to alert you. You can turn down or up the volume so it can very as loud or quiet as you need. You can also mute the monitor but keep watching the image. Very clear image display. Lullaby’s included are a bit average and so I don’t use them. Easy to use and a great investment.

Highly recommend, love it
Seems everyone writing review about the monitor turning off over night.. never had issue, I plug mine to charge and it goes out but comes on when my daughter makes enough sound. I had an issue with the charge port coming lose and it wouldn’t charge but since used warranty got a replacement to an updated one which is the same but they changed the charge part which is now perfect! Daughter thinks bear is adorable
Easy to set up, I have no issues with sound or image quality! Range is great for my place!

The camera turns itself off overnight
We bought it brand new a few weeks ago and since last week it started turning itself off overnight when it’s in charge. I can’t sleep well at nights being worried if the camera is turned off or not. It’s a big fault which is a shame as we like other features of this camera

Do not buy
Please save yourself and do not buy this product. I know all baby monitors on the market seem to have all sorts of problem, but do not buy this one. It switches off overnight for absolutely no reason! Terrible as my child's room is at the other end of the house. Sure video and sound is good, but what use is that when it shuts off? Absolutely rubbish.
Purchased in May 2021 for $189.00.

We were given this monitor as a gift. The battery on this monitor is terrible. Even though the unit is fully charged and on power, it starts beeping and turns off during the night. Very unreliable. After given a replacement unit, the same thing happened to our new replacement. We were told to just remove the battery and have it plugged in all the time. We've used it for 2 years and now the unit no longer wants to switch on. I recommend to do your research and look into other brands.

Parent unit turns off overnight
The audio and image quality of the monitor is great, however the parent unit turns off overnight when plugged in for charging. Obviously this makes the monitor unfit for purpose as you cannot hear baby cry overnight. I would not recommend purchasing this product, as it is is unreliable and a safety hazard.

Absolute crap
I have reported this product to the accc for being an unsafe product. I urge others with this to do the same at
https://www.productsafety.gov.au/eform/psa-report-unsafe-product
Same as others have said, the parent turns itself off during the night when it's plugged in. It sounds the low battery alarm and switches off, you turn it back on and the battery is full. The battery was replaced by vtech, still happened. The whole system was sent to vtech for testing, failed the test and was replaced. The new system immediately did the same thing. B...Read more
y this point I'm ready to throw the piece of crap on the road and run it over. But lastnight it hit an all-time low when it turned off without sounding the low battery alarm so I was not woken and had no idea until I woke up to a scream, my 2 year old has had a nightmare but I couldn't hear him from the other side of the house until he was so upset that he was screaming and hyperventilating. I am furious to say the least.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Turns itself off when fully charged
The battery life isn’t amazing, but worst still it will turn itself off when fully charged rendering the monitor useless. I wish I had checked out online reviews prior to purchasing, as this seems to be a common fault. Looking at other reviews, I’m not looking forward to the warranty process with VTech.

Range was the problem, had to leave it back
Truth is we were very impressed and happy with this monitor - when we were trying it out in our living room. Problem is when we the set it up in our bedroom then it just didn't have the range. To be fair, we have an unusual shaped house which is quite long and rectangular and we measured 30m from our bedroom to our baby's bedroom but the unit is meant to have a range of up to 150m so we never thought 30m would be a problem! Baby bunting were being quite iffy about taking it back too which was annoying, talked about giving us a credit note inste...Read more
ad but i insisted, if the thing doesn't bloody work and do its job then that is a fault and - eventually - they gave us a full refund. So yes, probably good if you have short range but for us no good, hence 2 stars. To be honest maybe I'm not in a position to give it 2 stars and we never fully tried it out, but it seemed good in the test runs from our living room.Similar opinion? Good monitor but some issues
The screen provided a clear picture and the audio quality was good. I liked the fact the screen turned off when there was no sound, therefore saving the battery, although you could change this setting and have the screen on at all times if you preferred. The monitor was easy to set up. The ability to move the camera around from the handheld unit was great when your child was fidgeting or just playing in the room as you never lost sight of them. I also liked the fact the monitor told you the temperature in the room, saving money on a separate ro...Read more
om thermometer. A very small detail, but I also liked the time display in the corner as it saved me looking for a clock to check if it was feeding time during night time wake ups. However, we had a significant issue with this unit if we had it charging overnight. When the unit was fully charged it automatically switched off. Therefore, if our baby woke up the monitor was switched off and we did not hear him until he was highly distressed. Vtech was very helpful and replaced the monitor but our second unit had the same issue. Again vtech tried to solve this by replacing the battery but the issue continued. To their credit vtech allowed us to return the monitor and get a full refund without any quibbles. The unit worked fine from the mains if the battery was removed but you could not carry it around if you did this. We also got around this by trying to ensure it was fully charged before going to bed but ultimately we returned the unit as it did not work as it should.Similar opinion? Battery issues
The monitor works but the battery life is terrible. I would guess it lasts 4 hours maximum. Then it beeps every time it runs out and at other times when you are trying to charge it. My wife and I would suggest parents steer clear of this. Buy a unit that lasts through the night.

Love it!
We have had our monitor for over a year and it is still as perfect as the day we bought it. The parent units battery only lasts around 4 hours but that has never been an issue for us, as toddler goes to bed at 6 and around 10 we put it on charge. Love the temp gauge and the quality of the image! Will be purchasing a second camera for our next baby.

Batterys are substandard
The first monitor I purchased the battery lasted several months before I had to return the product to Toys R Us. They replaced with an identical product. That battery has lasted 10 months and now does not recharge. Apart from the battery issues we have had no other issues with the unit.

Totally Unreliable
This baby monitor has been the worst thing ever it constantly drops out of signal, doesn't play the lullabies, the screen goes blank or it just totally doesn't play any sound at all so when baby is crying you can't rely on hearing them via the baby monitor. Certainly don't recommend it & would never buy another one!

Best monitor we have tried!
We have tried out not only this monitor but also the Vtech BM3000 and the Hestia 100 and returned both of them. The big advantage of the BM3500 is that with the buttons of the parents unit you can move the camera around almost 360 degrees in every direction. When it is not fixed to a wall or ceiling you can get it back on the main focus if it has been bumped without disturbing the child. Also, now that our child sometimes gets out of bed and moves around we can easily follow it. We have now fixed it up the wall so we can see the whole room. The...Read more
video and audio quality of the BM3500 are good. The battery life is fine too. It has to be plugged in if you use it through the night but when fully charged it will last at least 4 hours, so no problem to walk around with it through a day nap. If the screen is turned off it even lasts up to 8 hours. Just plug it in when not needed to recharge. Easy! We have a double brick house and have not problems with reception from on end of the house to another. It is very easy to use.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Worked well at the start then died after a year.
Bought this with first baby because it seemed to have all the features I was looking for - motion sensor, lullabies, night vision, temp gage, 2 way intercom etc. but it didn't even last me a year. Baby is 10 months old and now it just doesn't charge properly anymore, has real bad range, when it does work, it cuts in and out. It's a real shame. It cost me $175 AUD and money isn't something we have. Now I am looking for another baby monitor.

Do Not Buy This!
This monitor works well in every way BUT will switch off without warning whenever it likes! During the night I awake to my daughter screaming her lungs about for god knows how long because the monitor has switched itself off! I thought the first time maybe was my fault but it has now happened more than 10 times! I spend $200 on a piece of crap that has no safety! What if my daughter was choking or something was wrong and I never knew because this monitor turns off on its own?? Do not buy this product!!!

Good monitor with good warranty service
We have purchased two of these monitors and they have generally worked well for us. Taking into account the price I think it's a decent product overall.
We have had 2 issues with it (1) the connection dropped out after a few months for one of our monitors (2) coming up to the two year mark and the parent unit cord has come away with exposed leads from one of the monitor sets.
I do want to point out that customer service is great and there is a 2 year warranty and in both instances the problem has been dealt with to my satisfaction and p...Read more
ostage at their cost. (1) after initially sending the product back for vtech to determine the problem they sent it back to me and it still wasn't working properly. I called them up again and they sent me a brand new unit asap. (2) they are sending me out a new parent cord for both sets, even though only one of the parent unit cords are broken. Customer service has never made it difficult to get issues sorted which makes the difference. We have not been too affected when the monitor has had issues as we have 2 of them so the youngest child always has a monitor that is working effectively. A number of people have also mentioned the monitor randomly beeping. This may or may not help. Ours beeps at us when the parent unit is fully charged. To rectify, we unplug the cable, turn off the monitor and turn it back on and replug the cable.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Avoid at all costs
We're currently onto our 2nd Unit and 4th power cable as the wires become visible at the join between the cable and plug.
First unit was returned when it stopped working after a couple of months and we had to wait for replacement stock at our local store and go monitor free for around a week.
The new units power cords have proved to be shoddy and need replacing as they are a MASSIVE risk to your family - 3 leads have become unsafe during the 2 years that we have used this unit, we seriously don't know how it has been deemed safe for the Australian market.

Keeps losing connection
When the baby cries, the sound and monitor keeps cutting on and off. Dangerous! The temperature seems to be a bit inaccurate too. It served us well for a few months and then starting to show all these issues. Sometimes the monitor goes off on its own and you need to turn it back on.
