We had our new Westinghouse dark SS WBE4504BB bottom mount delivered new today. We plugged it in and can not get it to cool below 15deg C in either fridge or freezer. It is alarming hot every 50 mins so we have had to turn it off. It is summer and Christmas Eve and we have no fridge. Can you help us? Alison

Sounds like it has dumped the refrigerant or the compressor is stuffed. Suggest you go back to an esky and ice or borrow a portable fridge/freezer until after the christmas holidays. Murphy wins again, things always fail on a holiday long weekend when everything is closed. Get the dealer to replace the whole thing under warranty or swap it for a Samsung or LG.

I don't remember saying there was a problem with the coldness of the fridge or freezer, the problem was that it was near impossible to open the door as it seem to suck itself closed and I could see us pulling the door handle off. The fridge was also very noisey when running.

I got my Westinghouse WBE4514SA-R delivered today from The Good Guys Auburn branch - and I find the sides and the top of my refrigerator hotter than normal. Just wondering if it’s safe as I have never seen or felt any fridge getting that hot?

Yes, ours was like that and I think it is how they work. Can you open the fridge door easily and ours got very noisey after two weeks

Can you advised what the high pitch whistling noise is coming from my refrigerator when the motor is running?

Hi Sue, sorry but I don’t know what that is. If it stops making the noise when you open the door it will be the fan inside the fridge as this cuts in and out with the the door switch. Regards Ben

I have recently bought this Westinghouse fridge and was wondering about the door closure, it will not shut the last 20cms unless I close it manually. (by giving it a good push) this is a little annoying as I am not used to doing this.
Does this model have self closing hinges? WBE4514SA-R. Maybe I need to adjust instalment??

I think they designed it do this as you probably noticed that we you lock the door it creates a vacuum, so if you want to open the door you need to wait about 5 seconds. The little push thing helps when you almost accidentally go to nudge the door closed while holding a handful of stuff you want to put in the fridge without doing the 5 second wait.

I though it was a clever design.

Not that I recall. Sounds like an electric issue

More importantly a warranty issue if a new fridge.

Yes the entire back of fridge is covered except for the bottom 20cm or so. Compressor needs to breathe I guess.

Since this fridge is a Jedi model that is the force, it's an energy field created by all your refrigerator. It surrounds and penetrates your food; it binds the freshness together
