A Nice All-round Oven
We live in a townhouse so were just wanting a reasonably priced basic wall oven. This has been a good, trouble free oven and is very easy to use. If you fancy yourself as an amateur chef then this oven probably wouldn't be for you as it is on the smaller scale and doesn't have any fancy bells and whistles. The only negative thing I can say about it is that it seems to take a long time to preheat to the standard temperatures between 180-220 degrees Celsius.

Frame for seprate grill melted Fire hazard
Bought this oven a year ago and the door frame to the bottom grill melted into the glass door
This is a fire hazard had to stop using the grill
Called Westinghouse they sent a repair man who told me that the door has to be open when using the grill
Should the oven been constructed of materiel that is potentially flammable

Wouldn't buy Westinghouse based on this oven
When sharing my views on this oven, the most common reply is "you'll get used to it". I've used many different ovens in my 30 years of being a passionate foodie. I've used old and new, gas and electric. By far this Westinghouse oven is the worst. I used to set off smoke alarms about once or twice a year with burnt toast or neglecting to use a timer while being distracted. I set off our smoke alarm 95% of the time when using this oven. I tested the inside temperature and it runs anywhere from 20-30 degrees hotter than stated on the dial. Even wi...Read more
th this knowledge and paying close attention to whatever goes in - I would rename this oven "the smoke machine". I don't burn anything now but the kind of heat this generates resembles a fierce bbq. I use the "bake" function but that word should read "cremate" because it will find something in my food and cause it to smoke without burning. If left unattended for a few minutes, food is destroyed. Quite simply, I hate it. After about (minimum) 50 uses making everything from dessert tarts, cookies, pizza, roasts, casseroles, garlic bread, tortilla baskets and tray bakes - for me this oven is a fail.

Cooking like a professional
Very happy with my purchase, which replaced my 12 year Simpson which ceased functioning Christmas Eve..
Aspects I like:
It looks good.
Cooking is quiet and efficient. I am still learning about the different styles of cooking, but it is great to have a few choices.
Really like the quick heat up function.
It came with two wire shelves and a tray that can be used as a shelf.
The timer is easy to set and use.
I haven't used the grill yet, so cannot comment on that yet
Bought from Appliances Online. Great service again.

Great Buy
Purchased 665 but was nearly put off by some of the reviews. Previous Westinghouse lasted 25 years. Went for westinghouse again as it was the only one we could find with separate grill and oven. Not fancy but great cooking and grilling so far. Good value for money. Would recommend it.

Great Oven But ..........
I did a lot of research before buying this wall oven and found it hard to find a gas wall oven with a separate grill. I decided on the Westinghouse WVG665WLP Wall Oven. The oven is great as it is big inside with ample room. The oven is gas and I have cooked several cakes, muffins and cheesecakes and they have cooked perfectly. I have heard a few reviews where they complain about a gas oven as it does not cook evenly but this oven is great. However the grill section is a different story. Upon using it for the first time I find out it is an elect...Read more
ric grill. Highly disappointed as we thought we were buying a gas oven with a gas griller. But no it is electric and because the way the electric grill bar is it does not cook evenly which is a pain. Another problem is the grill tray gets extremely hot when it is being used. It is that hot that you have to use tongs or a tea towel to bring it out. I think they could have designed that a lot better than what they have as it is a safety issue. Having said all that the oven is great it is a shame about the grill. It is disappointing that there is not more choice when it comes to buying gas ovens and grills. Ample choice if you are looking for an electric one.Similar opinion?
