16 years and going
I bought the knife set in the wooden block 16 years ago as my first knife set and never looked back. Love that they have a nice looking wooden block to sit in (and dry) and store rather than sliding around dangerously in my drawer. I used them intensively for the first 7 years and never had to sharpen but then stopped cooking. Recently started cooking again (due to quarantine) and found they weren't as sharp as I had remembered. Gave them a quick sharpen (very carefully on 1 side, avoiding the serration) and good as new but looked 'nicked'. That's probably more my fault than the knives but I would highly recommend this as an economical first set of decent knives!

I literally wasted my money
I brought the knife home and put it in the wrong way into the stay sharp section. Now the knife is jammed and it will not come out. There needs to be a warning because I've literally just gone and throw my money in the bin without even using the knife once I don't.

Get scissors out of sharpening sheath
Hit the sheath hard once on a benchtop with blue button end down and scissor handles up. Then use brute force to pull them out. After that I used sugru to stop the scissors being pushed all the way in. I'm hoping the mechanism loosens up with use and I can take the sugru off eventually.

Print size on scabbard
The knife works very well. My problem is that I cannot see the print on the scabbard. (Just aged eyes). I often put the knife in upside down, so it jambs. It is too bothersome to go and get spectacles every time I want to use it. The shape of scabbard doesn't help. A small redesign would fix this problem. I now use plastic tape along the top of scabbard, but this looks tacky.

The only knives in my kitchen for the past 30 years.
A sharp knife is the safest knife - just be careful because they are always sharp.
Even a hunter that I know swears by Wiltshire StaySharp for butchering big game.
I would buy them again.

41 Years Old
We got a set of Wiltshire stay sharp knives for a wedding gift in 1978. I love them and use them daily to this very day. However, the box to sharpen them seems not to be working because they are not as sharp as they should be. They were supposed to have a life-time warranty but I have no idea who to contact. I love them but just need to know how to get them sharper.

staysharp scissors
I have noticed a recent deterioration in the quality of the Staysharp scissors. I have been using them for kitchen, office and garden for years.
I bought 2 pairs recently and both had the same issue-very difficult to return the scissors to the scabbard after taking out, and on both occasions the whole mechanism came to pieces after only one or two uses, due to having to force the scissors in.
Very disappointing :(
This product is not cheap to buy!

Always Stay-Sharp
I purchased the Wiltshire Staysharp knife block from Harris Scarfe about 3 months ago. These knifes actually stay sharp with the easy to use sharpener that is built into the unit. My knives are always ready to use and suit my everyday cutting needs. There are 5 knives that are a one piece metal knife so no handles can become loose or fall apart. They are stored in the wooden block that looks great on the kitchen bench. I am highly satisfied with my purchase and would recommend this product.
Purchased in May 2021 at Harris Scarfe Online Store for A$69.95.

They DONT HONOUR THE Warranty
I bought a knife and its sharpening scabbard fell to bits. They have discontinued making this over 5 years ago. I bought mine on sale from woollies under 4 years ago. They refused to honour the warranty and use the excuse it's only a 5-year warranty and hence that model is over 5 years they can't help me. I am silly enough to have been loyal to them and have a few of their items. SHAME ON THEM ... Never again!

Had some for years...don't like them now
Wiltshire staysharp scissors...Hurts hands to try and remove from sharpener, just won't come out. When they finally did, took the whole insert out with it..in pieces on the floor. Put it all back together and added scissors again..won't come out again. What is wrong with it? I thought it may have been the 'self locking' addition but I don't even know how that works..there is no release button or anything. Very disappointed! Just sitting in my cupboard not doing anything.

Good knife but handle is deteriorating
I have a stay sharp knife. My only problem with it is the handle. The inside has a rubber grip edge witch has gone soft and looks like puddy. Not sure what happened to it? Good knife but I can’t use it without getting my hands all sticky and taking the chance that pieces of this good stuff might fall in my food.

STUCK!
I purchased a Wiltshire staysharp knife a few weeks ago but after finally managing to insert it into the scabbard it's now totally stuck. There is nothing to indicate if there's a right and wrong way to insert it either. I emailed the suggested address but no reply!

Love my older Wiltshire "stay sharp" knife
I've never put in a product review until now...I've had my knife close to 25 yrs & it's worked great the whole time. They don't even have enough years down below so I chose the oldest yr option available). I've have had none of the problems other people mentioned. I wash it in the dishwasher, it never rusts, it's not symmetrical and is very obvious which way to put the knife back in the sheath. Now, I bought it back then through someone who was selling it through the Pampered Chef company - back when they were still keeping the Wiltshire name ...Read more
on them. At some point Pampered Chef just put their own name on them instead. I don't know if Wiltshire is doing anything differently these days or if people who are overall satisfied with products tend to not post reviews, but I've not had to replace mine in all these years! I could never figure out why other companies weren't producing knives with the sharpener built into the cover and didn't make knives that can also go into a dishwasher.1 comment

Warning - very sharp knives!
Bought the Wiltshire Staysharp knife block recently and they are DEFINITELY SHARP, as evidenced by 3 people in the household already cutting themselves. We are used to somewhat blunt knives at home so have gotten lax with using knives. Despite being fully aware these were new sharp knives, we all still managed to cut ourselves! They have a nice feel in the hand and make cutting/slicing a lot more easier compared to our previous knives. Anyone complaining of rust clearly isn't looking after them properly. We never wash them in the dishwasher and straight after washing immediately dry them and put them away as instructed. Overall very happy with this purchase.

Rusted!
Bought 2 stay sharp knives from Coles for $15 each and thought Wiltshire was the premium brand. Used once and both have rust spots almost immediately!! Very very disappointed! My other knives are Arcosteel so I will be buying this brand from now on. Not happy :(

Always sharp like new!
I've been using a Wiltshire Staysharp knife for many years. It's my favorite knife of all the fancy brand-name knives I've accumulated over the years. As far as I'm concerned, it could be my only knife. Recently my husband tried to sharpen other knives in the sheath and got one stuck. Luckily the knife was finally safely removed without damaging the sheath, but I ordered more Wiltshire Staysharp knives because I never want to be without one!

So far so good
All knives come as sharp as they can be. It is true the sheath is not very well designed, and it is difficult to figure out the right way to insert the knife while sharpening.
It is very important to wash and dry them as soon as possible after use as I already have some rust marks in a couple of them for leaving in the dishwasher for too long.
In summary, it is a good product but far from perfect!

Form over function
Great idea - a knife that sharpens itself as you insert or withdraw it from its sheath.
Sadly the designers decided that the sheath should be totally symmetrical, so you don't know which way round to insert the knife. Some genius at Wiltshire obviously figured this out a bit late in the process so they added a tiny afterthought sticker next to the slot with an arrow pointing to the cutting edge. The sticker of course comes unstuck and scratched up after a while, and most people don't even think that it matters, so I find that 50% of the time...Read more
the last person to use it has put it back in the wrong way round, gradually sharpening the back edge of the knife and probably damaging the sharpening mechanism in the process. This on the back of a bread knife that won't cut straight, and I won't buy Wiltshire products again - they are just very poorly designed. Save your money.Similar opinion?
