Great BBQ does the job
Have had this BBQ over the christmas, New year and Aus day celebrations. Performed as expected. The design could have been optimised a little as the oil drip tray can hit the lid (on full open) if not screwed on all the way which reduces the amount of air intake. Steam can also find its way into the thermometer housing if you are not careful.
Worth it for the month but you get what you pay for.

Not a bad little BBQ
I was tossing up between the Weber Baby Q and this Ziegler. I went for the Ziegler in the end and have been happy with it. The heat distribution is not as even as the salesman pitched it, but I guess that may be the same with other BBQ's as well.

Excellent value BBQ for small family or couple
Bought this BBQ a couple of months ago during a Barbeques Galore 25% off sale. It has been used extensively over the summer and the cooking performance has been excellent. Fairly economical on gas too. Steak, chicken, burgers, sausages etc all cook very well. The build quality of the frame seems to be good too. Would recommend.

Portable and Powerful
We bought this BBQ during boxing day sale as it is cheaper that weber but has thermostat. We tried it out first on new year eve when couple of friends came over for dinner. everything cooked on this tiny beast came out really juice and tender. We tried lamb, chicken and corn everything cooked perfectly . Grill plate is dishwasher safe which makes cleaning really easy . It only took 10 min for me to make it crystal clean . It is really compact and can fit in small car and not really heavy to carry around. This is one of the must now for our camping or outdoor trips

Works really well and saves energy
We were using it for a couple of weeks during warm weather after buying it on special from Barbeques Galore. We are very happy with the product and would recommend it. All the meats come out very juicy and tender thanks to the hood, the cooking time is half the usual time what it takes to cook the same in the oven.

Perfect bbq
This is the best bbq in the planet!
We have used it at least twice a week through winter, usually cooking a roast and only went through one bottle of gas.
It cooks everything to perfection, easy to clean, and simple to use, and heat control is acurate.
I will NEVER cook a roast in the oven again.

Love Love Love my Ziggy grill
Was tossing up between the weber baby q and the ziggy. Went with the ziggy for 2 reasons. The first reason was that it's the same price as the weber q and when I went to buy it BBQ's galore had a 20% off sale. The second was that you can cook with the lid open. Used the ziggy for the first time last weekend and was so impressed. Food cooked quickly and tasted amazing. Highly recommend this grill.

Can do a lot better
Difficult to clean - hard to get under burner, can't clean inside all of lid. Seal on grease cup won't stay on - wish I glued it on when first bought. Not easy to dismantle for cleaning, harder to put back together. Only useful for grilling and only when hood closed most of time. Trivets all useless unless you can close lid on what you are cooking. Still rely on cooking most things inside van. Bought this unit 5 months ago and used it after 2 months while travelling. Tried to return as not 'fit for purpose' but BBQ Galore at best were rude. No help given to address issues. No response from Ziegler & Brown either. New purchasers should test fully within first two weeks otherwise be prepared to put up with it.

Good grill for 1-4 people
A good sized grill for a couple. Uses very little gas. Have cooked steaks or lamb chops at least 25 times on the one tank of gas and its still am yet to refill the tank. Heats up well. Only downside is I noticed a tiny crack in the corner of the grill plate. Not sure when it happened. But this has not gotten worse and has not affected cooking at all. I can still remove the plate and clean it without any further damage. Works completely normally with it and its purely a tiny aesthetic detail that only someone with OCD would even notice.

Single burner does the job
After reading some doubtful reviews I was a bit nervous but a friend has one and very happy with it so we purchased ours. Great job on the Pizzas and on red meat. No problems getting up to a hot temperature despite what other reviews have said. Love the way it folds up for travelling. We also have a single burner Weber and which is the best??? Neither, both very good.

Perfect bbq for camping great build quality
We were looking at both weber and ziggy and ended up going the ziggy.
We saved $30 with the same amount of equipment we bought
The ziggy can cook open or closed and the oil catch can be wound half way down to allow the top to open half way to act as a wind break.
The ignition system is brilliant starts first time every time even in windy situations.
Can also boil water and cook on a wok with an extra attachment which is handy.
The which so feels more solid than the Weber. All in all they are both brilliant however I fee the ziggy wins with the extra few features and build quality. Weber is more popular due to marketing imo

Thermometer doesn't work and grill cracked on first use
Ziegler & Brown promoted by salesman as superior to Weber. Big mistake believing that.
Thermometer registers less than 100 but the lid is too hot to touch. Even after 20 minutes on high with lid closed, it doesn't register more than 150.
On first use heard loud cracking sound. Grill cracked on corner. BBQ Gallore said they will order a new one for me. After a month of waiting salesman says he will just swap it out from a new BBQ.

Versatile
Purchased a Ziggy after my Weber BabyQ was stolen. What sold me on the Ziggy was it's versatility, particularly being able to use it as a camp stove, allowing me to leave the portable stove + extra gas bottle at home when camping, saving on room (it also packs away nice & compactly in a sturdy carry-bag.
After 2 months I'm very impressed with it's quality. I've so far cooked general BBQ's, roasts, pizza, & bread, all of which have turned out great. It does heat up very quick, though if you're requiring lower temperatures, the adjustment noz...Read more
zle can be removed & there is a screw at around the 5o'clock position that allows for adjustments to be made; you can also control the flame by adjusting the tap on the gas bottle. Price-wise it's very similar to the Weber Q range, with extra's needing to be purchased separately. My only criticism would be that the portable stand is a little slow to setup & take down, though it does pack away conveniently when travelling.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Heed this Warning
First up I want to clarify that I loved the design of this product, from how it folds in half for easy storage, how the grill locks in to assist in travel and how the grease cap is a part of the BBQ. However it also has some major flaws.
First up the temperature gauge is so inaccurate you cant use it, you will need either an internal probe or an additional gauge to give an accurate reading.
There are some serious manufacturing flaws with the grill plate its self. I purchased this BBQ in late November after being convinced it was better th...Read more
an a Webber by the BBQ Galore staff. I agree with them it is better in alot of ways. The issues started during my 4th cook on the BBQ, while pre-heating the BBQ there was a extremely loud bang upon inspection the Grill had cracked in three places and pulled itself apart. Upon contact with the store they assured me it was a extremely rare occurrence and that they have only had 4 return in this condition stating it was a manufacturing flaw and that they would get a new grill sent to my house. This process took two weeks due to no stock being in Australia. Upon reviewing my new Grill and and putting it in the BBQ all seemed fine, that night I pre heated the BBQ at 75% heat setting to allow the plate to slowly move under the heat. The BBQ was heating for 7 minutes before the 2nd Grill once again cracked in multiple places with a loud bang. Upon further discussion with the store it was revealed that there is a serious manufacturing issues currently that has only started to occur since they revised the design and they are having a obscene number of grills return cracking and breaking on their first uses and replacement grills doing the same. Luckily for me the local store where more then happy to replace the Ziegler & Brown with a Webber Baby Q 1200 and swapped all the accessories i also purchased. So save yourself the hassle and just buy the Webber Baby Q instead.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

This portable BBQ is TOPS!
After the "death" of our Coleman Eventemp 3 Burner bbq, we needed a replacement. Limited study indicated a Weber Baby Q which we purchased. Very good bbq! Did everything perfectly as Weber is renowned for. So why sell it on Gumtree for a Baby Ziggy? One word. Versatility. When we travel, we like, for instance, to have a cuppa after a roadside cookup. The Baby Q only has both grill or one side grill, other side hotplate combinations. And the hotplate is only one sided. So a second appliance for boiling water is needed. The Baby Zig has full gri...Read more
ll, full reversible hotplate that's porcelain coated cast iron (Flat one side, ribbed the other) or an aluminium half reversible hotplate to sit on the full grill. The bbq comes as standard with a thermometer. Then there's the trivet accessory, my favourite! It's not enough that it takes pots, pans and kettles, oh no!. You can configure the trivet to have two side by side or one in the centre. Both the centre cross pieces of the trivets can be removed as well. When a single one is used in the centre without the cross piece, you can then use a wok. Or you can put a single trivet on one side and have the half hotplate on the other. So you can cook something on the reversible hotplate whilst boiling water in a kettle or doing your veggies in a pot...maybe making the gravy! With a roasting tray, roasts are also done. I also like the fact that you have a choice...lid up OR down cooking. So you can cook lid down in the Weber manner and have the same great tasting food done in a fraction of the time that Weber is so justly famous for. Or lid up for doing certain things, such as pancakes or if you just like seeing the food cook. The roll back hood means more space saving, and the grease catcher which screws up or down underneath for travelling, means no aluminium grease trays to buy! The hood locks into position so you can use the handle as a carrying handle. The grill or hotplate lock on so they won't fall out. Another feature I liked over the Weber is the carry bag for the little Zig. It has pockets for the accessories you buy. And a shoulder strap. It's made so the bbq handle will poke through if you wish to carry it thus. Converting between LPG or natural gas is via readily available conversion kits that the staff at Barbeques Galore will do. Similar to the Weber is that you can easily remove the single stainless steel burner. The only issue I have is with the portable stand accessory. For what it actually is, I think it's way expensive and a pain to assemble, hence why I didn't buy it. Nice that it has an optional upgrade kit that gives it a condiment/tool shelf and a bottom shelf for the gas cylinder or accessories, etc. But I'll make my own stand, using the existing Coleman folding stand I already have. In summary, a GREAT little bbq for travelling. Its versatility make it second to none in my humble opinion. To be perfectly honest, I'd have kept my Weber baby Q if it had the same versatility as the little Zig. But I'm more than happy with what I now have. I absolutely recommend getting one!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Bad Burner design
Single burner grill bought for caravanning.
good for a steak and sausage cooker, but you cannot bake or roast in it. the burner is too big even on the lowest flame, the temperature goes over 300Deg in less that five minutes.
Dont buy it for roasting or baking !!

Needs remodelling
I returned my portable Ziggy to BBQs Galore recently, great customer service from the guys at Helensvale!
I found it very difficult to maintain cooking temperature, impossible to clean under the lid and I cut my fingers trying to clean the cover dome over the drip tray.
I have swapped it for the twin burner and have been very happy with this one so far.
I did send an email to Z&B via their web site regarding cleaning the lid but did not get a response!

I’m having trouble screwing in the grease cup for the first time. It seems ultra tight and I don’t want to crash tread. Any advice?

Have no issues with it,just do it slowly.
We had to take the first bbq back due manufacturing error with grease trap/cup. It shouldn't be hard. When we finally got complete unit, grease cup screwed on easily. My advice is go to store and play with floor stock so you can see if your bbq is faulty- was only way we could work it out.

hello, we have just bought the single burner smallest ziggy.
we put the solid cast iron plate in, and put one of alsis split chooks in. normally I bake that at 180 for 45 mins in a small oven in a ceramic dish.
I used the same ceramic dish in bbq, on a low raised cake airer, so as not to burn.
I cooked with a closed lid.
could not get it lower than 180
however on the ziggy it took nearly an hour and was raw on the upper side and dry on the underside.
Q - would a bowl of water make the heating more even. and lower the temp?
Q - perhaps cooking with the solid cast iron plate was a problem closed lid?
although we do this with our other bbq with great results.
Q - I am concerned that I cannot get the bbq lower than 170 without turning off the heat.
thinking maybe I should hae purchased a baby q, less drama and fiddling.

Andrea B. I have been using my Ziggy (single burner) since October'19 and love it. I do not have a solid cast iron plate so do all my cooking on the grill it comes with. I have cooked cakes, roasts, Christmas turkey roll and they have all been cooked beautifully. I think the trick is to place what you are cooking on a rack, sit it in a roasting dish and add water to the roaster. keep adding water during the cooking time. I have not had a problem with the thermometer but it takes a little bit of monitoring to keep the temperature at the constant heat required. I think you will fill it will be easier to control by using the grill plate instead of the solid cast iron plate. Hope this helps. I could not be happier with my ziggy.
