Cheap price but no service read fine print
If your company credit card doesn't have renters name they won't take it. Luckily there were 3 other rental companies down the road who would. Staff not interested to help.

I would not book with anyone else
This is my second time using Apex and they have nailed it. The simple and fuss free booking, pick up, transfers and simplified drop off is exactly what you need. I never feel like they are trying to rip me off with extras and fine print. I have never made a claim but I love this service.

Cheap Prices but Very Poor Customer Service.
While they may be one of the cheapest rental car companies around and very easy to use if nothing goes wrong, they do not seem interested in looking after their customers should something out of the ordinary happen.
After picking the car up in Christchurch we were involved in an incident that was not our fault which resulted in a severely cracked windscreen. Very happy
The whole process was very easy. From booking to collection and drop off. I had read some negative reviews and was a bit concerned. However my expectations were far exceeded. We paid $176 for 5 days from melbourne airport. No bond required, shuttle bus was easy and prompt, and we got a beautiful car with only 74,000 kms. Would definitely return in the future

first of all, I've read many complaints about service from Apex and I think more than a half of problems could be prevented just reading the terms of conditions, keeping in hands the office tel, meeting point for shuttles, holding an international driver licence.....
I Rented a car Elantra in Melbourne Airport - Tullamarine, and as required gave a call to the office for them send a shuttle, waited less than 10 minutes for the shuttle arrive. the staff was very friendly and explained everything before let me go.
No issues until the dropping off in Adelaide Airport, happened pretty much the same as picking up.
Well, briefly, cheapest company, no bond, no cleaning and excelent service. Absolutely recommended.

Great from start to finish
Everything was great ..booked online and the pre pick up contact was good.airport transport on time, staff at Apex were very friendly helpful and explained everything clearly .return process terrific and transport back to airport very quick ..car was spotless and great to drive I will definitely use Apex car rentals again and would highly recommend the Perth depot again and got to say their prices were so good ..thanks Perth

Cairns Office are rude and inconsiderate
Their office has limited hours. They open at 8 in the morning which is really inconvenient when your flight is at 9. They were rude to deal with telling us it’s our bloody problem. Due to their late opening didn’t get to have the report that all was good with the vehicle before leaving their office hitch leaves it open to them claiming anything they want. Really really poor customer service. Wouldn’t use again from that office.

Good price but insufficient service
I rented from Christchurch airport. First of all their office isn’t inside the building but they offer a shuttle service. However the pick up stop was difficult to find.
At the office the Apex emoloyee (not a very friendly young woman) didn't accept my Swiss driving licence, saying there was nothing written in English. She asked me to have it translated for NZ50$. I didn’t have the choice. However this was the first time in modern times that my Swiss driving licence (credit card format) had been refused.

Bad experience
Their customer service was very bad. We booked Rev4 3-4 weeks ago, on arrival at the rentals, they gave us the key and asked us to sign paperworks, but never told us that they are giving wrong car, lucky we noticed it. They gave us subaru legacy old one . It was v. disappointing, their staff didn't even bother to do anything, acted as if nothing happened, when questioned, gave us excuses. We asked to see the manager but received no response. They are liars and cheaters, we were v. upset as we planned long driving trip. Horrible experience.

Do not use apex.
This was the worst service first the shuttle was late then the desk managers were unhelpful when the booking was “lost”, speak little English and the one English kiwi girl proceeded to walk out back and talk about all the customers loudly. Horrible service

Dodgy apex mascot staff !
Mascot apex are dodgy. They are liars, especially the manager [name removed], also people beware of leaving your car in the car park! The staff don’t know how to drive and your car will get damaged. They will then say it is not them ! It’s so sad to see how people are like this. If you damage a car then just own up instead of denying it. Especially when I have proof and photos of the incident.

Renter beware
Christchurch New Zealand in late Sep18, having hired a Highlander from Apex. Arrived at midnight and the vehicle had a flat tire. And the spare was flat. Not the best way to start our holiday. Thankfully the guys at the after-hours yard helped us out. Went into the Apex Christchurch office the next day and got a replacement Highlander. Checked once we got home, and the spare tire was jammed up and could not be accessed at all. Went in again and got the 3rd replacement vehicle. iper blade came off. This is symptomatic of poor vehicle maintenance and preparation, why I don't know but suspect preserving margin comes into it at the expense of the renter getting a reliable vehicle. I just finished a car rental from Apex in Hobart, and I returned the car to Apex in Launceston. I was given a great car, the process was seamless, I am very happy with this company, and I will be using them again in the near future.

Fantastic choice if you are under 25
This car service is hands down best in Australia for under 25yr old drivers. No fees if you're under 25, cheap insurance (full insurance very recommended as only $500 deposit if full insurance is purchased instead of $2750 for basic). Car I got was well above expectations, had parking sensors, rear camera, Bluetooth, drove very well from Melbourne to Adelaide without any issues. Paid very little compared to other companies, highly recommended.

Apex cairns is awful
I recently rented a car to go from Cairns to Brisbane. I would be doing the road trip with one other person. I was happy as they do not charge an under 25 driver fee and they had a special deal on cars going from cairns to brisbane. We were politely told that we took the deal (a run of fleet deal) and that's the car they need in Brisbane and I would get used to driving it and for difficult situations such as parking it would be helpful to have my passenger get out and assist me. I had done my research and knew in their fleet was ONE 8 seater van but could have in no way anticipated that is the car I would have received. I was distraught but had already paid and in my naiveté did not know I had the right to refuse any vehicle. The car proved difficult to drive and was in poor condition (windshield wipers made visibility worse, passenger's interior mirror was replaced with tape, one slide door would not open and the other only opened 1/2 the time, etc). After about 20min driving I tried to call the customer service hotline. No one ever answered my call and I was told to leave my name, my concern and my phone number. I did this three times and never received a response. I messaged customer service and was told it was between myself and the cairns office and there was nothing apex central could do. I am a student and planned my finances well and gave myself some spare room but was bankrupted by the cost of fueling such a large car. I finally was able to return the car and spoke with the Brisbane office about my ordeal among other things related to the car. They were very understanding and confused as to how it happened. I am hoping this is a fluke thing but cannot say that this did not have a damper on what should have been the trip of a lifetime. Awesome Experience
Great people excellent service good fleet, hired a car during a four day break in Sydney. Prompt airport pickup and drop off no bond required had a 2018 model hatchback excellent value for money made our stay easy and enjoyable. Would recommend to anyone heading to Sydney. Thank you

Total lack of customer care
Booking made for car hire from 12th Oct to 15th October 2018 in Brisbane. Day before we left NZ they rang and said best to pay a late arrival fee to protect yourself. I paid $40.00 by credit card. Arrived 25 minutes after normal hours and rang the 1300 free call, 4 times rang and it cut off. Had to get grandson living 50 km away to come in as we had no transport.Called at their office next day to sort out and very rude reception. Cancelled whole deal including Sydney booking and used Avis instead. I would never use this company again.

APEX LAUNCESTON - GREAT SERVICE
We arrived late morning, rang for a pick-up- took 3minutes-great- taken back to office and everything was sorted within 10-15mins, including car check (by photos as well)
The car a Toyota RAV4 was excellent all around Tassie, no problems with it.
When we arrived back in Launceston after 2 weeks, the drop-off etc. paperwork, and ride back to the airport (about 2 minutes) was quick & easy.
Would recommend Apex to anyone going to Launceston, The lady was Very Helpful & courteous.

Great company, no hassles!
We hired a car from Apex Cairns for 8 days. They were the cheapest price and the service was great. The car was clean, new with no problems to report. Service was friendly and quick. They picked us up from the airport and dropped us back without any fuss.

Hi. With zero excess insurance provided by Apex, in the event of a claim do you have to pay any monies at the time of the claim ie pay up front for the excess then have to claim it back ? Like rental cover etc

No holding deposit but I suggest taking photos before driving off and if you do early morning drop they charge 30 dollars I highly recommend and always get insurance as well
