Good 1st Experience
This was my first time using the GoGet service and I was happy with the product and service. I hired a van to pick up some furniture which we purchased.
Everything went well and as expected. It is very easy and convinient.

Disappointingly dodgy. Won't be using again.
The process of booking a van was easy, and the quality of the van (Toyota Hiace, under 3700km on the odo) was fine. My issue is with how this company hides substantial charges, and seemingly completely ignores its own offers.
Firstly, I signed up with a promo through IKEA which was supposed to waive the $49 joining fee. I even have a receipt from GoGet that states this has been applied. Yet I still have a $49 charge on my card. Additionally, they have taken and held another $250 off my card. I questioned this, and was told it is a pre-authoriz...Read more

This is an absolute joke. My total fee for hiring the car was less than $20. It should not need that much tied up in a pre-auth. Hotels can do this with $1, and certainly clear it back in quicker time than a whole month. The day after I used and returned the van I then get an SMS telling me that the next member who booked it cannot find it. Which is curious, since I returned it to the exact same car park I picked it up from, which is located literally outside the entrance to the IKEA shop. When I called up to confirm that yes, I parked it where it should be, the person I spoke to did not sound like they knew what to do with that information. I wonder if they even bothered to check the GPS tracking, which surely they would have on a distributed vehicle fleet. Avoid this company. It's not worth the hassle. I'll be finding a mate with a ute and hiring them for the price of a case of beer next time.1 comment

I highly recommend not signing up to Goget, especially at the moment. I recently bought a car and moved to the country, so cancelled my membership. I had a $500 security deposit with the company. When making the call to cancel my membership, I was told that this would be put straight back into my account. A week later, this hadn't happened, so I called them, only to be told that it would be processed in 5 - 8 business days. 8 business days later I called up, to be told that my security deposit (repeatedly incorrectly identified as being $250) h...Read more
ad not been 'processed' (I was unable to get an answer as to whether that means 'deposited', and if not, what that means). Numerous calls later, I was told that there is only one person in the company who can process security deposit refunds, and they were off work. I find this very hard to believe. I was promised that today I would receive confirmation that my refund had been processed. Sure enough, I've heard nothing. I suspect that this company has severe cash flow issues and is simply not processing the refund. I'm not confident of ever getting it back as it's been about a months since I first cancelled my account. Avoid if you can help it at all.4 comments

What went wrong is that Goget hasn't returned my security deposit, weeks after it should have, and fall for all I know may never return it. It's pretty simple. I've now been told it should be in my account soon but that was days ago. I won't hold my breath. I'll follow up through external means if it isn't here tomorrow.An update for the public record. Was promised it would be in my account early this week. I've left it a couple of days but sure enough, it's not there. Do not give this company your money.

Disgusting nightmare : impossible to end my subscription
I was approached 4 years ago in IKEA store and subscribed as it sounded good. Since 2018 as I wasn’t using it anymore and they were charging my credit card with annual fees, I’ve been trying to leave, but they ignored my requests and it's still going on in 2020 (they even pretend I never made any closure request, when I have all the traceability saved).

I hired cars multiple times a week and was generally happy with the service. I had just upgraded to the go-frequent. I would often pay for an extra 30 minutes so I could fill up on petrol for the next person. I even personally delivered items left behind in the car to their owner at the request of goget.
Then $75 was taken out of my bank account without notice. I checked my invoice and it was itemised as 'fine' without any further details. I contacted customer support and they told me it was for returning the car late. I explained it was 2am ...Read more
and the apartment building where I needed to return the car was completely locked. I had tried calling security and customer service but as it was 2am I could not get hold of anyone. Luckily a resident of the apartment building eventually and let me in. $75 is approximately the cost to hire the car for an entire day and is ridiculous for returning a car under and an hour late ($6.50). Especially considering I had not returned a car late in all the times I had used the service for over a year. The information provided in the app regarding access to the building was incorrect. I have had this issue with other parking bays but was able to get in contacting security. The customer support team did not care at all. I have cancelled my membership as I do not want to be fined without notice for anything else. I was already anxious of being blamed or charged for damage or the cars being dirty (as they often are). From this experience I will not risk using the service.1 comment

It was nice to walk down the street and pick up the car. The car ran perfectly the whole trip and it was nice to just fill it up and not worry about a thing.

Stopped parking your cars on our street.
We are getting more and more of go get cars parking along our street. It is a very quiet residential area. Many of us now cannot park in front of our own house. Have called up the council and they confirmed that it is for people living there and not for businesses parking their cars there. Do the right thing.

Total mess around payments
GoGet is absolutely grey schema when it all comes to payments. Their 'My Bookings' section gives absolutely no info on what rides have i already paid for and what is the total for each given ride. Therefore they absolutely free to charge your account over and over for the same rides as you cant figure it out by looking at the bookings history and would have no arguments to say the cost has already been covered. Even you can go through emails to find all the invoices, it does not contain any info on how much kilometers you did per ride and what ...Read more
is the total cost. This gives them an opportunity to ask you for another portion of $ at any time. My bookings history may have random booked and then cancelled rides that i never booked. Be very careful. We switched to use Uber as it gives me more confidence about the costs.1 comment

Fantastically fast and easy sign up, super near and convenient car, clean, smooth, and such easy to use system. If there’s 2 things I would had liked, would have ability to increase to one day rental rather than just by hours. And more vehicle type choices in my neighborhood

y rate if you extend it for the number of hours that are the equivalent of the day rate, the combination of hours and mileage work out to be more than the day rate or the simplest way is to extend your booking to the start time on the next day if the car you're with is available till then. Dissatisfied with customer service
I have an issue today where the car auto-locked on me whilst unloading the vehicle at my home. My wallet and Goget pass were still inside. I called your customer services up, after a wait of 15 minutes on hold, they tried to unlock the car but could not due to a system outage. I was told they don't know how long it will be but will call me back. Said they would call back in two hours.
I have now called again, after waiting another 10 minutes on hold, I asked if you could do something because I have plans for the rest of the day. I was told someone can come to my vehicle in 60-90 minutes but you can't guarantee. I'm now waiting and can't do anything for the rest of my day due to this issue. I'm really not happy with this situation .

Wonderful resource
Booking is easy, cars are always available for whatever period you require them, and the whole service is very reliable and convenient. Great alternative to car ownership for when public transport is not feasible.

GoGet is the way to go
GoGet is much better than owning a car in the inner city suburbs. You have a choice of cars and a dedicated parking spot. The system works well, only glitches are if users come back late or park in the wrong place. Generally, members are considerate people. Rates are okay since fuel is included.

Great alternative to buying a car
Always excellent customer service - if something does go wrong, they admit it, fix it and compensate. Wish all companies were run like that. Cars are easy to book where we are, and always clean and in good condition. In fact, our son is learning to drive in GoGet cars.

Customer service over and above expectations.
Customer service over and above expectations. Actual car and GoGet concept a lifesaver when our regular car not available or we are interstate. Having your own pod when you return to your hotel or where we leave our car for a service is beyond convenient. Recommending to all my contacts!

It's like having a garage with a choice of vehicles, but none of the hassle (or cost).
An outstanding initiative. For 15 years we have used this car-share service, got rid of both our cars, never regretted the decision, and never been disappointed. Occasionally a member messes up and a car is not right where it should be, but GoGet have always been able to provide a timely alternative and compensate for the inconvenience. A fraction of the cost of owning your own vehicle, and the convenience of multiple vehicle-types depending on your need - supermarket trip, carting goods, long-distance trip. And never having to worry about insurance renewals or maintenance schedules. There are people who need their own vehicle, but most think they do, but don't actually.

Easy and convenient - when it works
It's very easy to sign up, but then getting your card activated is hit-or-miss. I talked to 3 different people who gave me 3 different reasons why I couldn't activate, even though I'd already done everything they said was needed. Finally told them to cancel my membership and they activated it on the spot. Not cool - please train your people properly so they know what they're doing. Cars are handy, when they're in their pods. When they're not, service people have no idea what to do other than send you to a pod across town. For people without car...Read more
s, paying multiple cab or Uber fares to pick up a car gets old fast. They didn't offer to offset the extra expense. The last car we used had obviously been occupied by a smoker - smelled disgusting so we had to leave the windows open at 38C. No way to tell GoGet about this afterwards - at least Uber lets you rate your trip and try to provide useful feedback. The kilometric rate over 150 km means that for longer journeys you're better off with normal car rental firms, even though they advertise that you can use them for a weekend getaway (sure - you just can't get very far away). Vehicle selection is great in North Canberra but not Southside (apparently we don't need vans or people movers???). This could be an extremely useful service, but needs some kinks worked out, especially with their clueless service people. I'd like to use them more, but they sure don't make it easy to give them your money.1 comment

Best decision I’ve made in years, love it
I use Goget two or three times a week on average for short trips. There are always cars available within easy access. Cars are easy to drive and comfortable and convenient.
Bookings are easy to make and just as easy to manage if you need to extend or cancel a booking. Rates are cheap and payments and refunds are processed quickly and efficiently.
Love using this service and would never go back to owning my own car again. I can’t recommend it highly enough.
