Solid machine but cannot start when weather is humid or air is damp (rainy day or muggy winter day)
1. Solid machine that washes well. Just test how rigid the door is. Only scrape the stuck food scraps however it cleans well.
2, Pity about the electrostatic start/stop buttons which are susceptible to moisture in the air. Poor design choice for these type of switched for a machine that is normally in proximity of wet area, e.g. under the sink counter. A better design would use a mechanical start/stop switch. To fix this issue we have to resort to a hair dryer blowing at the said start/stop button, switching it OFF and leaving for 10 minutes or so till it resets?
3. Otherwise its a good machine when it works. We use powder detergent ( 1 cap) and 3 capfuls of vinegar in the other container.
Purchased in June 2021.

Works well until the electrics go. Only get 4 years.
This is my 3rd Asko but will not be buying ASKO again.
The first one lasted 13 years. The second 4 years, the third 4 years. The ones that only lasted 4 years stopped working due to the electrics, both had the same issue. These clean really well when they work but unfortunately 4 years is not good enough. The cost of 3 service calls and two machines in under 8 years makes them way too expensive. Will not be buying ASKO again. Just junk!

Satisfied customer
I was very unsure about purchasing this product as I did not know anything about it. However, I have been pleasantly surprised with its performance to date. I scrape the dishes and sometimes lightly rinse them before putting in dishwasher; I have used the rinse and hold a couple of times. The tablet (Aldi's brand) fits nicely into the holder in the door and pops out easily each time the machine is used. The dishes are washed to a gleaming shine and they are completely dry when I remove them from the machine. I have read quite a few negat...Read more
ive reviews of this product and I will edit this review should any problems arise in the future. Purchased from The Good Guys Loganholme and the machine was delivered and installed within two days of purchase. The installer was professional, polite and extremely tidy. All in all very satisfied with our purchase.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Quiet operation and works well
This dishwasher runs quietly and the dishes come out clean. I do soak and rinse most of the items before they go in as I like to use minimal dishwashing powder. When the machine 'beeps' to advise the cycle is complete, it is helpful to open the door and let the steam out to assist with drying. I usually take the plastic items out and cool/dry separately on a drying mat situated on the kitchen bench. When on my own, I use the D/W approx. every 5 days. When I have visitors, the machine can be used daily.
I purchased the D/W through Harvey Norma...Read more

Don't buy this if you are seeking longevity
Have had two D5424 Asko Dishwasher's. First lasted max 4 years. Foolishly bought another new one at a very low price from a white goods retailer. Lasted 3 years. Would be interesting to know how may of the people on this site praising the machine within the first 2 years of buying it still have a working one. Stay away from this expensive brand. Buyer beware.

Terrible Machine & NO service
Bought this machine as had recieved good reviews of asko dishwashers lasting well however began having issues after 4 months, the heating element broke first and the computer also needed replacing twice. First two warranty claims were fixed taking about 2 months, 3rd warranty claim asko didnt want to know about however after calling twice a day for 2 weeks, calling harvey norman as much it was fixed eventually. Recieved terrible customer service from Asko, Asko did not return phone calls, I was frequently on hold for >30mins at a time and frequ...Read more
ently transfered to different departments, to my emails I would recieve single sentence replies days later. Harvey Norman although required by ACCC law was required to ensure my issue was resolved would only direct me to Asko. Will not be buying from harvey norman again, rude staff and only interested in you until transaction complete! Asko are sold to you as premium brand with reliability and longevity. Will not buy another asko either as not worth the risk when you have paid so many $$$$Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Wouldn't buy one again
Compared to our previous dishwashers, an LG and a Beko, its really no better at all. It does wash OK, but doesn’t dry very well unless you open the door. We think it lacks wash options. It does have an ECO wash, but from our experience it is no more economical to use this cycle than the normal cycle as it takes a lot longer. The racks are pretty well thought out, but don’t expect to fill it with 14 normal size plates. It is quiet, but again no better than our old LG or the Beko. The cutlery cage looks good, but has some pieces to it that restri...Read more
ct the available space. We did have problems with the dishwasher in the warranty period, and the retail store that sold us the appliance only directed us to Asko. Asko couldn’t have been any less helpful if they tried, and for us the warranty was pretty much useless. For the price of them versus the risk of something going wrong, I would not buy one again unless they became significantly cheaper and the Asko customer service improved.Similar opinion? just ok
We got it about 2 years ago. main reason is this one can connect direct to hot water as we only have hot water supply under sink for dishwasher.
Very quiet,
clearing good.
space is huge as we got a built in one.
But :
the mark on the switch are begin to fade after few weeks.
the Tablet not dissolve some time. even on some powder .
You can see the Tablet hatch door can not open fully as it will touch the upper basket. it only open about 30 degree.
so when the hatch door opened during the cycle. the tablet may not drop to the machine floor. it only used the jetted water to dissolve the power or table.
I try use cold water connection but no different.

Rotten lemon
The previous dishwasher was a Miele and I wanted to have a better one, I should not have done that, tn four months I called the service department four time because of loudness and racket the machine does, the second time the technician removed a water restrictor in line with the cold water, it seemed working, however shortly later it was screaming again, I called the service but they could not find the problem.
I asked to have it replaced ( it was only 4 months old), however, the manager wanted to have a recording to prove the noise,apparen...Read more

Dishwasher D5424 does not dry properly. It does not has any in-built mechanism to assist drying.
We set the dishwasher on 'Long drying/high temperature/Heavy wash and start washing at 9 pm. We unload the dishwasher next morning at around 9am. Inside the dishwasher, the roof is still very wet and a lot of our washing still have big water droplets. We spoke to Asko and they insist that the wetness is normal.

I love my Asko!
After buying the Asko Front Loader Washing Machine and being over the moon with it, I decided to buy their dishwasher. I know there are cheaper versions on the market but wanted to stick with the brand that gave me good service. I am not disappointed. It is so quiet that I have to check that it is on and at the end, so nice to find everything clean and sparkling. If I wanted to whinge it would be about the mugs that hold a little water in their upturned base and the plastics that don't dry entirely. However, these are minor things that occur with other washers and so don't worry me at all. Love Asko and hopefully, will be with me for years to come.

Buyer remorse.
I was instantly unimpressed with the purchase of my D5424 in March and 6 months later I am still regretting this purchase. For a $1000+ dishwasher, I am underwhelmed with its results. In no particular order of issues: a) It is difficult to change wash programmes as the dial isn't user friendly, b) the cutlery basket is bulky and took up too much space and the cutlery handles touched each other and left rust marks so I reverted to using the basket I had rescued from my old Samsung which keeps each cutlery item separated by the grid style ...Read more
lid c) Often the Finish tablet doesn't leave the dispenser during the cycle and nothing gets cleaned, necessitating running the whole cycle again. d) the normal daily cycle I run overnight takes over 2 hours. Its fortunate I wash the saucepans by hand or the heavy cycle would take much longer. e) even using rinse aid, nothing dries properly- especially plastic containers, which all require being dried by hand. f) I can not stack as much in this dishwasher as my last one and struggle to get cereal or dessert bowls to stand up in the racks. All these little niggles are annoying on a daily basis and after reading these reviews I realise I am not alone.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Best dishwasher ever
This dishwasher has a huge capacity for dishes with the bottom tray able to fold down to accomodate large pots. The touch control dial is simple to use and has a variety of programs such as rinse and hold up to a 3 hour pot wash. I have had three Asko dishwashers in the past and all of them have been fairly quiet with no maintenance issues. Even the dirtiest of dishes usually come out sparkling clean and we never rinse dishes just scrape the food off and pop them in for a cycle. My favourite feature is the fact that it can handle a lot of dishes and large pots with its fold down tray at the bottom. Would recommend Asko's to anyone who is looking to buy a new dishwasher that lasts and does a terrific job of cleaning your dishes.

Deceptive Sales Techniques
I just purchased my second Asko Dishwasher. We purchased the same model that we had before and it lasted 4 years. When I purchased the first one it came with a 2 year warranty. Asko have now extended the warranty to 5 years. We could have had the old one repaired outside of warranty. We expected that if we went down this road it would have cost about $300 - $400. We came to the opinion that we were better of putting that money towards a new one. This is were it get's weird. We call into our local Asko dealer JBHiFi and they have a big spec...Read more
ial sign on the dishwaser advertising it for $999. They then tell us they can't do it for that and it will be $1200. The sales lady says that deal was from Asko and it expired at the end of March. I said but it's still advertised. I had no choice but to cough up the $1200. This was very deceptive. You may ask why we bought another Asko or as we like to call them Crapo dishwaser. This was the only semi-intergrated one we could get. We could have bought a fully intergrated, however that would have required getting a cabinet maker out more $$$ so we decided to stick to the Crapo. If a normal style dishwasher would have fit in our space we would have bought one. Stay away from Akso if you can there are lot's of better brands. Not only are there dishwashers crap they way they sell them is very shonky.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Asko Reliability Report
We've had our Asko 1805 dishwasher for over 21 years, normally run every third night. During this time it has required the following maintenance:
After 6 years, $505 to replace circuit board and install bigger rinse-aid dispenser (one year after the 5y electrical warranty ended). The replacement circuit board is now stuck on Normal program but temperature, drying & economy options can still be changed.
After 11 years, $70 to replace rusted lower rack insert (the plastic coating cracked), and the replacement one is now rusting in one spot.
After 14 years, $122 to fix shorting electrical wires at bottom of door (common dishwasher problem where plastic insulation cracks due to repeated bending).

Simply a Must
Looks good and works well, which is what is expected! Stainless steel interior so it wont become brittle and crack. Very quiet, cleans and drys items on a number of settings, love the environmental and use it constantly. Easy to clean with Bi-carb as soap and vinegar as the rinseaid

I bought a lemon
A year out of the 2 year warranty it won't switch on. I have to pay 100$ call out fee to get it fixed. It is a quiet machine and cleans well when it's working. The staff have been pleasant to talk to. I expected that I would have no problems when I bought a quality' product.

The more things change.
This is a pretty good machine in that it does what the one it replaced did (it was a 16 y.o. Dishlex) - it washes and dries dishes reasonably well. Funny thing is how little has changed in 20 odd years. If it goes for 17 years I'll do a revised rating.

a really good washer. dries well too.
Easy to stack with a sliding basket for cutlery (removable). Very quiet operation. Simple touch controls. Stailess steel interior stays sparkling clean.filter is easy to remove and clean. Manual says not rinse dishes first and even with only scraping plates filter requires little cleaning.
Exterior is easy to keep clean.
