Not worth the price
Purchased it from harvey norman and were told that these are one of the best in the market. We were using AEG for a few years and were happy with the performance. This is just so so.
Still getting used to the touchpad as its a little difficult to operate sometime.
Purchased in February 2021 at Harvey Norman for $1,200.00.

Wish I could rate it in the negatives
2nd one I have owned and the same problem both 6 months out of warranty. I purchased again as Asko A.K.A Crapso are slightly smaller which was a requirement for us. Now that the same problem has occurred and Asko once again refusing to cover cost we have decided to organise a cabinet maker so we can purchase a different brand. I would strongly advise against buying anything from Asko. Poor customer service and products.
Purchased in April 2021 at The Good Guys for $1,000.00.

Only worked for 3 years
Bought a D5436XLW white dishwasher on 12/01/2016 and it worked for just under 3 years then came up with an F10 fault. Called Asko, and when they found it was no longer under warranty, they appeared very disinterested in helping getting it fixed. Had trouble finding my town (rural) and could only vaguely recommend I load it up into my small car and take it about 150k's to 'nearest' fixer. Not able to do that, I sourced a more local service person who tried four times to fix it and get parts. Unable to fix it, he gave up, and I found another elec...Read more
trician/Asko service company who have also tried four times (with more parts ordered) - to no avail. For an expensive machine, I cannot believe it could only keep going for just on 3 years, when ACCC say all white goods should at least function properly for 5 years. Not impressed! Will be keen to hear back from Asko as to whether or not they will replace this useless machine which has sat in my kitchen for a year, not working!Purchased in January 2021 for $899.00.

Still getting used to it
We have had this dishwasher for a year now and still getting used to it. The touch pad can be difficult to operate at times and not sensitive to the touch but in saying that it works excellently. Dishes come out clean every time. The short wash doesn’t dry the dishes so they need to be hand dried. Love that the cutlery tray can be moved anywhere horizontally along the tines so can fit lots of dishes and pots on the bottom tray.
Purchased in September 2021 at The Good Guys for $1,199.00.

Expensive but you get what you pay for
We have had this machine for about 2 years and so far so good. This is a versatile dishwasher that has plenty of jets and the third tray for cutlery is brilliant. The only downfall is the touch pad looks great but is sometimes not responsive and you have to press the buttons several times before they register. Also the child lock doesn’t work. Apart from those issues this is a great dishwasher that washes the dishes very well and you can fit a lot in it
Purchased in July 2021 at The Good Guys for $1,499.00.

Very ordinary but comparatively expensive
Just purchased, just installed and replaces a Fisher and Paykel Dishdrawer. The F&P had given good service for nearly 10 years but just too expensive to repair. Went looking for a quality replacement and selected the ASKO sight unseen (Asko control the whole sale process and they only allocate certain models to the stores. That should have raised alarm bells.
Dishwasher arrived ($1299 marked down by Asko from $1699) and I expected a good quality well-made machine. The actual manufacture and finish seems ok but the actual use of metals, the wir...Read more

Really crappy touchpad
We have a D5456. The touch pad has already been replaced once under warranty. In fact the entire door had to be replaced by the technician, as evidently there is no practical way to fix the touchpad itself. Now we are coming up to the dishwasher being 3 years old and the exact same thing has happened... some buttons on the touchpad work intermittent but mostly can't start the washing cycle or change the programs which is very annoying.
We have an extended warranty so hopefully we can get this fixed, or rather get a refund for the dishwasher....Read more
The service people on the support line aren't very helpful with this as apparently the extended warranty has nothing to do with them (apparently have to call some third party number for support when I find some time to chase it up again during business hours). Is pretty hard to believe in the quality of the design or manufacturing for Asko brand products. You would figure that paying a premium price would get you a premium product, but you'd be wrong.1 comment

Worst dishwasher I have had . It is the fifth dishwasher I have purchased since the late 1960s
the dishes come out very wet but clean enough, it is quiet, slow and difficult to load as the interior is dark grey . The cutlery box is small and keeps falling to bits and does not hold enough for a family of four people so is always over full and each piece needs to be inspected and hand dried.First time I have actively hated a dishwasher .It does not have a favourite feature-

Fantastic choice!
We renovated and spent a long time researching appliances through online reviews, friends recommendations and store recommendations. We have had the dishwasher now for 9 months and incredibly happy with it. Dishes are spotless, the white finish looks seamless with our cabinetry without having to pay additional for integrated unit. Cycle does take a while (2 hours 20) but is very quiet. Best feature is the cutlery drawer, so easy to load and unload.

So sorry to say not great
From date it was not the best performing dishwasher I've ever had sorry to say about this one but I was not happy. Doesn't matter what kind of pods you chose for it or different sending she said it seem to clean it all the same and then it had a common issue which I found on YouTube where it cluggs away and further investigation lead to water in the Electrics which is dangerous so the whole thing has been removed and discarded of now.

Overpriced very ordinary!!!
Dishes don't clean particularly well is a noisy unit supposed efficient drying system is rubbish everything comes out wet including stainless steel milk jug. Had a cheap Bosch unit that was a far superior machine and a lot quieter. Don't believe the yarns spun by salesperson and the no flex door.

Fantastic not having to washing dishes
This is the first dishwasher I have ever had. Most of the time the dishes etc come out clean and dry 98%. I do find that sometimes plastic items are not fully dry. It is quiet when washing. The features that I like is that you organise the racks by height and the positions of the tines of the bottom rack. You can remove the bottom rack completely if need be and it is easy to clean the filter. The only thing that I would have liked is a level indicator of the rinse aid rather than the alert when it is empty.

Doesn't clean and doesn't dry
My husband bought the Asko dishwasher from the good guys, my request was a dishwasher that cleans well, dries perfectly and had lots of space. I have used this dishwasher a few times now, always small loads, most of my dishes had to be re-cleaned, especially the cutlery on the top drawer. The drying on my cheap Technika that I had in my rental apt was better than this "turbo" drying. This is by far the worst dishwasher I have ever had.

Another excellent Asko product
We had Asko dishwashers and washing machines in our old house. They lasted for ages. While we haven't had this dishwasher long, it exhibits all the thoughtfulness and quality that our other machines had. We used Choice to help in deciding, Asko being one of our options. It was rated as a bit noisy, but we can hardly hear it running. This is despite the island bench having a gap above the kick-board at the rear of the machine. The flat third drawer for cutlery at the top of the machine is a boon for kitchen knives and spatulas. Its cleaning ability is also excellent.

Most disappointing ASKO product I have purchased
I'm a long time ASKO fan but I am very disappointed with this dishwasher which replaced our D3122 that gave us many years of great service. I would have got our old one repaired as the water inlet & drainage pump were still working, but it meant a 300+ km round trip & a long wait which we couldn't do. We live in rural NSW & the only option immediately available was the D5456. I wanted the model below this because I like simplicity & didn't need extra expense of unnecessary nuisance cutlery trays which interfere with loading top tray, bits of e...Read more
xtraneous plastic basket lids or the 'easy touch' controls which aren't. I do not want options to adjust the buzzer volume, operation volume or lcd contrast. It's a dishwasher not a sound system. I reduced the time program in line with the instructions on the dirt level & then it doesn't clean or dry properly & you cannot use the long dry option with a timed program. All I wanted was a dishwasher that washes dishes in a timely manner. My favourite feature for this dishwasher is when it beeps to say it's finally finished. This is the 4th ASKO product we've purchased but I am so unhappy with this dishwasher I am going to order the model I wanted originally & sell this one on.Similar opinion? Who wants to wash dishes. I dont
When you walk into the kitchen and you see a basin full of dishes you simply pack it into the Asko and when the load is done the dishes are clean. It's like you waved a magic wand and the dishes are done. It is easy to pack and fits a lot into it. Very happy with my dishwasher

Initially problems but solved with efficient service
The Asko cleans dishes beautifully. It is quiiet, especially when turned on during late evening. Best features is the Eco wash. Initially there were difficulties as it would stop unexpectedly mid cycle. I had to contact service on three occasions. Asko always willingly sent out a technican and the problem was solved by third visit,

Great Dishwasher
Glasses that were looking cloudy are suddenly clear again. We replaced our 15 year old dishwasher with the Asko and could not believe how clean our dishes are. It is so much quieter and more efficient. Very happy indeed. Just to finish it off, had a phone call today asking if we are pleased with it!! Good follow up service as well!!!

Great kitchen companion
Have been using this for nearly 2 months and worked perfectly - quite and efficient. This is better than the ones I used before.I prefer my dish washer to work quietly and this dishwasher does not disturb me from work even if I leave it on(not like the ones I used to have)

A little disappointed
i bought this dishwasher on sale. It was highly recommended by the salesman. It is a little difficult to turn on. If the dispenser that holds the dishwasher tablet is not completely dry when putting it in,then during the wash it appears not to dispense properly and after the cycle finishes, the tablet is found intact at the bottom of the dishwasher. If things go as they should then the dishes are cleaned. Although I do rinse them first.

Asko D5456 None of the buttons on the touch control panel work. I've gone through the various procedures for the Start/Stop button functionality but to no avail. The problem sometimes fixes itself if I leave it overnight, or for a few days. But seriously is this what should expect from a non-budget machine??

No it is not! I would be following it up either through ASKO or who you purchased the dishwasher from!

The Asko dishwasher fits under a kitchen bench and in a 60cm x60 cm space.
The dimension specifications are in the product brochure so interested consumers Chan measure and check the position for the dishwasher before purchasing .

technician attended to perform the touchpad replacement as the first time around and he is a very friendly and knowledgable guy. Very easy to deal with and excellent in-person customer service. We chatted a little about the upgrades to the touchpad over the years and it seems that Asko is on the right track fixing the bugs in each new version. (I believe we now have version 3 of the touchpad that goes with our dishwasher). The extended warranty support area were very helpful and have no complaints there. It's a shame I had a bad experience with the main Asko support area, not being very helpful. Why there are two support areas instead of one integrated helpful customer-friendly support line beats me.
