Do Not Buy!!!
I would NOT recommend anyone buy anything ASKO. We purchased an ASKO dishwasher spending the extra thinking it would last longer her and the sales person marketed as being on par with Miele. Wishing a month of having it we got an error. We had someone come out to fix it. Forums showed this was a common error. Within another two months another error F9 and F12. Also water pools in the reservoir where the filter is but told this is normal (I could be wrong but it didn’t seem right to me). The buttons have always been touchy but now only three yea...Read more
rs old seems to not be working at all. For an expensive item it hasn’t lived up to the perceived quality, it is definitely NOT value for money. I wished I had of bought the Bosch at half the price I had one in my previous house and it is still going 15 years onSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Does a really good clean and all plates come out dry as well. Only problem is pots and pans mode take 3hrs and when we directly connected to hot water we had some problem all round pretty good but. We have had it for 2 years now and am still happy with it

Best Dishwasher
This particular ASKO dishwasher is smooth operating and has a very sleek design, perfect with no hiccups.
Will last for years, robust.
If the start button 'wont work', make sure the door is closed properly or it of course will not operate.
Easy to install and great ASKO customer service

Pretty good
It seems to do the job but I have noticed sometimes there is still some food left on the plates and cutlery which is really annoying.
I have been using the heavier washing setting even though I rinse most of the stuff off before putting them in there. It would be nice if they came out clean every time, even on the quick mode.

Doesn't clean and doesn't dry
My husband bought the Asko dishwasher from the good guys, my request was a dishwasher that cleans well, dries perfectly and had lots of space. I have used this dishwasher a few times now, always small loads, most of my dishes had to be re-cleaned, especially the cutlery on the top drawer. The drying on my cheap Technika that I had in my rental apt was better than this "turbo" drying. This is by far the worst dishwasher I have ever had.

Can't complain with this dishwasher
I love the Asko dishwasher it cleans the dishes really well. Not that loud. Love the fact it has the cutlery tray on top makes it so much easier than the standard one. The fan inside is great as well dries the dishes well and their not wet the load is finished. Just make sure you put rinse aid in their often just to help with keeping the dishes clean.

Happy with the dishwasher!!
Love this dishwasher, complete steal bodybuncluding the base and spray pipes. Has a cutlery tray with a jet on top that ensures everything is washed perfectly. The dryer fan makes sure that all utensils even the plastic containers are dried completely. There are a umber of programs and cycles to select from to suit your needs. Doesn't make any sound, completely silent. Worth the money spent!!

Lemon
Does a great job of cleaning the dishes, on the occasions that it sees fit to complete the full cycle.
If I had to guess I’d say that about 60% of all wash cycles stop before they finish and leave the dishwasher full of water and the dishes still dirty.

control panel keeps failing
I loved my old Asko, had it for 10 years and would've just replaced the part for a few hundred dollars if i'd known how unreliable this new model is. The salesperson at Harvey Norman tried to talk me into buying a Miele saying the new Asko wasn't up to scratch... I wish i'd listened to him. Just about to replace the control panel for the 3rd time in 4 years. My husband and i only use the dishwasher every 2nd day, so it's definitely not overused It cleans ok but i expect more reliability for the top Asko model.

Asko - Do not stand by their product
Asko dishwashers not worth the premium price and minor problems are to be expected (as stated by a company representative).
After having Asko recommended as the best dishwasher to buy we paid the premium price and made the purchase. We were very happy for 5 years until the dishwasher stopped working. This dishwasher is used very infrequently. After the repair company getting to the cause. Asko assisted in guiding the repair company to make the electronic adjustment. I contacted Asko for reimbursement of the cost as I didn't think it was reason...Read more

Dishwasher never worked. Very poor customer service.
The new asko dishwasher was put in a rental property as the old one broke. It didn't work, not one cycle. I replaced it with the dishwasher from my house and asko said don't bring it back to the shop, install it in your house. I did. Still broken obviously. They said a service company will contact me and organise a serviceman. 2 days later I had to call and they organized the appointment for 8 days later. The serviceman was running late and couldn't attend. Organized again for another 7 or 8 days later. Serviceman came and said water is pouring...Read more
out of the main pump. He recommended a replacement machine which was supposed to be installed in 3-4 days. 5 days later I call asko and ask what is happening and they said the dishwasher was delivered to the service company who couldn't find it. It was lost. Later that day I get a call saying they found it but that they don't have time to deliver it to me, it would be a few more days. I was fed up and drove a 90 minute return journey and installed the dishwasher myself and complained to asko that I bought the dishwasher June 26, and I had to chase it up at every step and only got it replaced on August 4 because I did the hard work. Asko said they were being very generous giving me a year extra in my warranty. I asked for a $400 refund for my time and petrol. They didn't care and said that a one year extension is all that they can offer. Not likely to buy or recommend an asko ever again. I'm happy for asko to offer me more as compensation for my time, annoyance and disappointment but I don't think this will happen.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Another excellent Asko product
We had Asko dishwashers and washing machines in our old house. They lasted for ages. While we haven't had this dishwasher long, it exhibits all the thoughtfulness and quality that our other machines had. We used Choice to help in deciding, Asko being one of our options. It was rated as a bit noisy, but we can hardly hear it running. This is despite the island bench having a gap above the kick-board at the rear of the machine. The flat third drawer for cutlery at the top of the machine is a boon for kitchen knives and spatulas. Its cleaning ability is also excellent.

This washing machine is amazing
I have tried many different brands in the past. But greatly in love with Asko. I fill the machine with loads of dishes, on top of each other, but they all come so bright at the end. It has a cutlery tray and an additional basket. Just only issue is the long washing time, the shortest time is 45 mins.

Most disappointing ASKO product I have purchased
I'm a long time ASKO fan but I am very disappointed with this dishwasher which replaced our D3122 that gave us many years of great service. I would have got our old one repaired as the water inlet & drainage pump were still working, but it meant a 300+ km round trip & a long wait which we couldn't do. We live in rural NSW & the only option immediately available was the D5456. I wanted the model below this because I like simplicity & didn't need extra expense of unnecessary nuisance cutlery trays which interfere with loading top tray, bits of e...Read more
xtraneous plastic basket lids or the 'easy touch' controls which aren't. I do not want options to adjust the buzzer volume, operation volume or lcd contrast. It's a dishwasher not a sound system. I reduced the time program in line with the instructions on the dirt level & then it doesn't clean or dry properly & you cannot use the long dry option with a timed program. All I wanted was a dishwasher that washes dishes in a timely manner. My favourite feature for this dishwasher is when it beeps to say it's finally finished. This is the 4th ASKO product we've purchased but I am so unhappy with this dishwasher I am going to order the model I wanted originally & sell this one on.Similar opinion? Had high hopes but was let down
First using this dishwasher my impressions were good. Dishes came out spotless and was the quietest in its class. Started getting f10 fault after 4 months and had to call service guy. Problem fixed but only lasted 1 week. Another service call lasting 3 hours and the result was the dishwasher was still not fixed. They took it away and gave me a brand new one and I had the exact same issue without a month. Customer service was great and they refunded my money. This dishwasher had it been reliable easily out classes my current Miele with racking quality and internal space and quietness and I've never seen such clean dishes. Such a shame. I would think about Asko down the track because the after sales care is that good. I think just a bad batch

Who wants to wash dishes. I dont
When you walk into the kitchen and you see a basin full of dishes you simply pack it into the Asko and when the load is done the dishes are clean. It's like you waved a magic wand and the dishes are done. It is easy to pack and fits a lot into it. Very happy with my dishwasher

Loving it. Worth spending the extra $$
Love that you don't have to clean/ rinse the dishes. It is reasonably quiet and has all the required features. Love the stainless steel interior. Better then my old Fisher and Pakel. Also owned Bosh dishwasher but this one is much better. No complains so far. It has all the required feature fir household.

Brilliant product
The door is perfect, easy to open and close and light. This was the main reason for purchase. The product cleans perfectly, is super quiet, and has a variety of settings, and a memory that uses the most recent cleaning program, so so easy to use. I would recommend this product to everyone. A little more expensive than some, but well worth it.

great machine... Poor servicing from asko
Great dishwasher. Asko servicing...No one to talk to, you can only email to book in a service. 72 hour delay in contacting a local servicing company, then another week minimum for the servicing to happen. Still waiting. unable to use dishwasher until fixed. Sales reps very responsive, asko not so.

Do you have to use the cover on the lower cutlery rack? I’ve just purchased this dishwasher and discovered that all of my cutlery pieces are too wide to fit through the holes on the cover. Without the cover on the receptacles for the cutlery are much shallower than my previous dishwasher and I wonder if they will stay in.
1 answer
Do you mean the cutlery 'basket'. I've never used the cover and cutlery has never fallen out.

I need a dishwasher that really dries the dishes. The Asko D5456WH was recommended to me by the salesperson for the turbo fan for drying. Just want to know does it really work and how noisy is it when the fan is running? Our new kitchen is in an open plan living/dining area (only living area in the house) and also only 5 metres (2 walls) from a holiday flat I rent out, so don't want it to be too noisy.

The dishwasher is very quiet. I set the programme to Eco. Some items were not quite dried, so once the dishwasher finished, I left it for quite some time so everything dried. The superseded model was much better regarding programming. I'm not super happy with this one. Very expensive and not up to scratch. I'm seriously contemplating replacing it and not with an Asko.
Certainly not noisy when it doesn't work, after only 3 years! Very expensive machine, nothing extraordinary about it in any way, and I most definitely don't recommend any Asko product! Forget anyone being able to help you with fixing it.

When you fill the rinse aid container, approx how many wash cycles do you get before having to refill it ?
2 answers
I'm sorry, I've never counted. The container seems to take a lot of rinse aid. I use the dishwasher probably every second or third day (there's only two of us) and so far I've used one 500ml bottle and three quarters of a second 500ml bottle of rinse aid. I've had the dishwasher since end of August. I hope this helps.
Thanks Rosemary. Yes, I also thought the container took a lot of rinse aid. Like you, there is also just the 2 of us and we wash about every third day. Guess I'll probably use a similar amount to you.
Cheers
Harry
