Wonderful machine, the best I've ever had

published

Just a quick note of praise, we decided on this based on advise from a retailer then bought the Asko. It is THE BEST dishwasher I've had in decades. The sales person was honest and very helpful. i had an Asko in the early 80's it was great too. It's quiet, cleans well, dries well, love the cutlery tray as I felt the baskets never cleaned the spoons well enough. All over a great machine

super quiet

published

cleans dishes really well, is extremely quiet (my old one was so loud). Favourite feature is that it is connected to hot water so hopefully it uses less power, my hot water is off peak. I use the quick wash cycle, only problem is that is still 2 hours but dishes are clean and dry. Only things it doesn't completely dry on the program I use is tupperware plastic.

Ok

published

Asko dishwasher was ok but not the best in the market but will do the job. If you prefer better job would then consider miele. Its cheap so i would not complain too much. If you wash big item like pot than it would be a bit dificult to fit in.

Initially problems but solved with efficient service

published

The Asko cleans dishes beautifully. It is quiiet, especially when turned on during late evening. Best features is the Eco wash. Initially there were difficulties as it would stop unexpectedly mid cycle. I had to contact service on three occasions. Asko always willingly sent out a technican and the problem was solved by third visit,

Fantastic dishwasher

published

This dishwasher is uses a very small amount of water so makes it very economical to run. Cleans the dishes so so well and I wished quiet when on. I'm on tank water and would highly recommend to use this dishwasher. It was a little more expensive than other dishwasher but it is very well built tough and other people have told me that they last for years and years.

Asko for this one

published

It's a pretty good dishwasher, if I do say so myself. The controls are easy to learn and use, and it's really quiet when in use. There's plenty of room inside to fit all my dishes and stuff in one go, and I've never had any problems with food stuck to my washed dishes.

Great Dishwasher

published

Glasses that were looking cloudy are suddenly clear again. We replaced our 15 year old dishwasher with the Asko and could not believe how clean our dishes are. It is so much quieter and more efficient. Very happy indeed. Just to finish it off, had a phone call today asking if we are pleased with it!! Good follow up service as well!!!

Great kitchen companion

Have been using this for nearly 2 months and worked perfectly - quite and efficient. This is better than the ones I used before.I prefer my dish washer to work quietly and this dishwasher does not disturb me from work even if I leave it on(not like the ones I used to have)

A little disappointed

published

i bought this dishwasher on sale. It was highly recommended by the salesman. It is a little difficult to turn on. If the dispenser that holds the dishwasher tablet is not completely dry when putting it in,then during the wash it appears not to dispense properly and after the cycle finishes, the tablet is found intact at the bottom of the dishwasher. If things go as they should then the dishes are cleaned. Although I do rinse them first.

This dishwasher is an absolute lifesaver. My husband packs a week's load of dishes in, including with baked on food, and no matter how full it is, all dishes are sparkling clean. We have recommended many of our friends to get the same dishwasher. Quiet and easy to use. Wish we'd gotten one earlier

Best dishwasher I ever had

published

My favourite feature is being told to only scrape off food scraps, etc. - DO NOT RINSE - in big letters. The machine gets everything clean and sparkling and on economy dries reasonably well - equally as good as my Dishlex did, but more economical to run. It is loud if you are next to it and trying to listen to the TV, but guests in the next room are able to sleep through the cycle. So happy with it.

Has it's moments!!!

published

I bought this dishwasher thinking that I would not have a problem with it as it was quite expensive but sadly that is not the case. I constantly have trouble turning the dishwasher on if my hands are a little warm, apparently your hands have to be cold to operate the buttons so the servicemen have told me when they have come out to service the dishwasher. Very strange!!!! Once the machine is operating it is good, it is quiet, and cleans the dishes well. It is a smart looking dishwasher, the stainless steel gives it a nice look. I would probably give it a 3 out 5.

Best Dishwasher

published

Extremely good dishwasher that provides an excellent clean every time (no clue what that previous reviewer was going on about - maybe they should try cleaning the filter). The stainless steel door has a solid mechanism, and does not wobble like other leading brand dishwashers that are made with plastic - and more plastic.
The Asko dishwasher is easy to install, operates very quietly, and has a very wide range of wash cycles from a quick rinse, from 30mins through to full-length cycles, plus 70deg cleans etc (haven't used that yet). Lots of very useful compartments that can be easily added or removed, and a cutlery drawer (yes!). Highly recommend this Swedish-made dishwasher!!!

Not bad, overall glad we bought it

published

It cleans really well. Love the separate cutlery drawer. I have to say it is a little noisy at times and when I walk past it appears to generate a lot of heat. The dish washer seems to be pretty good quality and overall I would recommend this as a good buy..

Is ASKO - Is Good

published

Our previous dishwasher lasted for years and for its replacement we wanted a quality, quiet yet powerful machine. The ASKO not only met but exceeded all our requirements, it is easy to load and the dishes come out clean, dry and sparkling. It also has many standard extras which the others only offered as options. During its first wash we had to bend down and listen to make sure it was going! Very quiet. Good one ASKO.

(Almost) Everything goes into this dishwasher

published

Well, I don't put crystal or kitchen knives into the dishwasher but everything else.
We are now loading up the dishwasher with pots, pans and baking dishes. There is short rinse cycle which is handy if you do not have a full load but are concerned that food may dry out on cookware. Very baked on food does have to be soaked or loosened- things like sticky rice or white sauce which tend to adhere firmly to the base of a saucepan.
Cutlery basket can be moved anywhere on lower shelf. The dishwasher is generally while operating except for when the water valve opens- it tends to gush loudly for a few seconds. A number of cycle types and very easy to use.
The waste trap is easy to remove and to clean.

Best dishwasher on the market

published

It cleans thoroughly and you never have to rinse your dishes beforehand. Filters never need to be cleaned, only when necessary.
It is so quiet that I have to listen carefully to hear if it is still washing.
Big baskets give a lot of room, sparkling dishes and I love the boost fan dryer.
Stylish and easy to install. I bought this brand because I had 1 previously and it was fantastic. I was upgrading and I sold it for a very good price after having it for 10 years!

The perfect size for a family

published

I love our Asko dishwasher. I love that it fits so much in it and washes really well. We pack so much in there and it comes out dry and clean every time. I did have a dishwasher with a cutlery draw on the top but I prefer to be able to lift them out to put away quicker. We use it every day and it's worked so well.

Best dish washer that I have owned and I've had a few

published

This dishwasher is the best that I have owned. I use the everyday cycle when I don't have any pots and the dishes come out sparkling clean and dry. I use the heavy duty wash when I have a very full wash and pots and pans. I do need to soak the baked on pots and pans before putting in but any dishwasher is the same. The cutlery drawer is so useful, as it doesn't take away any room for the rest of my dishes. The overall build is so solid unlike other makes. It is extremely quiet to run which is important to us as the kitchen is next to our lounge room.

Do you have to use the cover on the lower cutlery rack? I’ve just purchased this dishwasher and discovered that all of my cutlery pieces are too wide to fit through the holes on the cover. Without the cover on the receptacles for the cutlery are much shallower than my previous dishwasher and I wonder if they will stay in.

Do you mean the cutlery 'basket'. I've never used the cover and cutlery has never fallen out.

I need a dishwasher that really dries the dishes. The Asko D5456WH was recommended to me by the salesperson for the turbo fan for drying. Just want to know does it really work and how noisy is it when the fan is running? Our new kitchen is in an open plan living/dining area (only living area in the house) and also only 5 metres (2 walls) from a holiday flat I rent out, so don't want it to be too noisy.

The dishwasher is very quiet. I set the programme to Eco. Some items were not quite dried, so once the dishwasher finished, I left it for quite some time so everything dried. The superseded model was much better regarding programming. I'm not super happy with this one. Very expensive and not up to scratch. I'm seriously contemplating replacing it and not with an Asko.

Deb
Deb

Certainly not noisy when it doesn't work, after only 3 years! Very expensive machine, nothing extraordinary about it in any way, and I most definitely don't recommend any Asko product! Forget anyone being able to help you with fixing it.

When you fill the rinse aid container, approx how many wash cycles do you get before having to refill it ?

2 answers

I'm sorry, I've never counted. The container seems to take a lot of rinse aid. I use the dishwasher probably every second or third day (there's only two of us) and so far I've used one 500ml bottle and three quarters of a second 500ml bottle of rinse aid. I've had the dishwasher since end of August. I hope this helps.

Harrydubya
Harrydubya

Thanks Rosemary. Yes, I also thought the container took a lot of rinse aid. Like you, there is also just the 2 of us and we wash about every third day. Guess I'll probably use a similar amount to you.
Cheers
Harry
