Defective car - repair process terrible
Use to have one of these, a 2009 Q5 2L TFSI. After 2 years it started burning oil. Got worse and worse, after 3 years it needed a 15K engine rebuild. Audi (and everyone) by then knew the engines were faulty and burned excessive oi after a short time. Mine was using a litre of oil every 1000km. But no recall, instead they make you go through this long multi-visit oil test crap before finally fixing your car. Before that they lie to you saying that the oil usage is normal. To top it off, even after the engine was rebuild, when I looked at tradi...Read more
ng it in at a VW dealer later that dealer said the car was worth less due to oil burning problem, even after the engine rebuilt. The engine problem was bad enough. The dishonesty about it even worse. We also had issues with a Audi A3 we bought when the transmission blew in the first year. Never will touch this brand again, Have Mercedes now and no quality problems there.Purchased in June 2021 at Southern Classic Cars for $70,000.00.

Total disaster
Long story short, do not buy early models of Q5 TFSI I’m still skeptical about later models but my 2010 Q5 was the most terrible experience in my whole life
Had a plenty of problems from this car and I got eventually it refunded
I don’t bother to say too much things from my experience but just one thing I really need to let people know is oil consumption problem. Some people may already know that many of Audi models have issues in regards to excessive oil burning
Well.. with my Q5 I had to top up the engine oil every 250km-300km which mea...Read more

Piece of crap
I have owned my audi 3 years in that time i have replaced the engine due to failing oil compression tests 11k then 1 year later replaced transmission 6k now apparently a year later have to replace the engine yet again. Audi only reply due to the service history not being followed by the original owner they have voided any wrong doing. However in USA where the same issue occured a class action forced audi to replace the engine at their expense. I have 150k on the clock the car is serviced at regular intervals.
Drive absolutely perfect but is...Read more
a ticking time bomb of regret. I recommend that KIA is half the vale and unfathomable reliabilty comparred to the expensive crap bag that i thought would be a dream car and i wanted yo have something of value instead cost me my kob and relationship due to the ubsurmountable financial pressure it put upon myself. If anyone wants to buy it as a skip bin give me a call. Or if you have had the same issue join my facebook page Audi Oil Consumption issue and read through the other testimonials in which others have shared a similar experience.

One of the most powerful SUV.
I am still driving it now...it broke an engine last December...on 147 558 km.
Thanks to extended warranty that covered for R36.000
And i had to add only R23.000.
And the car was back to road again.
Replacement of engine...after all is done...re registration of new engine number is very important...
Vin number and engine number should match...
Now i am a happy chap again...
Speed...power...oil and fuel consumption still the same.
2010 Audi Q5...what a machine..

For the dogs ...
My Q5 takes the cake. Love the ride and the interior. However, constant issues and repair cost with allegedly 'faulty' Engine Management sensors and their replacement two times over. Excessive oil comsumption (.6 l/1000km) of 2.0 engine. Treated with contempt by Zagame, Bridge Road, upon raising concerns and complaining. Had to make threat to unleash hell before being heard. Had the whole engine rebuild at 85,000km - zero oil consumption now - at a cost of $10,000. Luckily my extended warranty covered the mess. Lost the gearbox yesterday, car completely undriveable (from 1st warning message to breakdown within 50km) at 115,000km.
Never again.
Purchased in December 2021.

BEWARE OF THIS MODEL
DISCLAIMER: This is based on my dealings with a close relative's car. I've been involved with the process of discussions on their behalf to Audi, plus have provided advice. However, I am not the owner of the car being reviewed but I have tried to objectively state what I have witnessed.
Also, I am a BMW driver and unlikely to purchase an Audi unless it's an R8, which IS a desirable car!

e "float" than the BMWs I'm used to, but it was powerful enough to pull away quickly and very little noise intruded into the cabin. The interior was well laid out and the centre console seemed less fussy than my BMW X5's. The seats were comfortable and supportive, and the level of equipment was on par with a vehicle of this age. On paper, the car has good safety features. However...Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
First And Last
I have had this car two years. The mechanic (RM Autohaus, Hawthorn, Audi specialist)) failed to identify the oil burning problem during the warranty period, despite me specifically asking them to check it (Epic Fail!). It burns a litre every 400-800km, the worse figure in city driving. It also has the awkward, jerky, lagging transmission problems others describe. Audi (Zagame) quoted $9000 for new rings and denied any knowledge of why this problem would happen- disingenuous to say the least. I love everything else about the car (looks, cabin, cruises nicely, quiet, comfortable), but Audi have lost my trust and I shall not buy another car from them.

Very Disappointed!
I purchased what seemed to be a well maintained and in great condition Audi Q5. I've owned this car for 3 months and already have had to use my warranty to replace piston rings costing over $9000 and my warranty will only cover have for a manufacturer fault. Audi expects me to pay the difference. I have had my car in the workshop for around a month and what's worse have not been offered a courtesy vehicle in the interim. I would caution all to stay away from Audi vehicles, they have broken me and I now have to try and figure out were to come up with the money to repair.

Too many problems
I have had my Audi Q5 for 4 years now. After a few months of driving it, it was jerking on reverse and if you step on it on a highway, the car jerks. There is something wrong with the gear changing and the gearbox. I have brought it back to Audi 1/2 doz times and they were not able to find the fault. Wasting my time going back and forth trying to fix this problem. I had the same problem with my Audi A3 Cabriolet. I could not get rid of it fast enough.
All for looks for too many problems

Sports mode hold gears a tad to long in deceleration . Overall good package . I would def recommend this car .
