Excellent Service and Prices
I would like to say that this is the 2nd time I have used AusSpecs and am extremely impressed with their quality, service and prices. This time I bought 2 pairs of Multi-Focal spectacles with premium lenses and at almost a quarter of the best package deal price I could get from a well known retail optometrist and with better quality frames to boot.Their selection of frames to choose from is enormous. The web site is easy to follow and the best thing about this company is that it is located here in Western Australia, owned and run by Australians ...Read more

3 weeks after ordering my multi focal transitions specs they arrive Express Post to my door. This is my third pair of specs from AusSpecs and I am delighted with them all. Many thanks to AusSpecs.

Great product, service and value
Its doesn't get any easier to order what you want exactly how you want it and at exceptional value - this isn't the first time i've used Aus Specs and i say with all honestly that i wont shop for eye wear anywhere else - the service is fantastic, easy to order, speedy delivery and great value that would be very hard if even possible to beat - i used to be sceptical using online outlets, especially for something i regard as important as eyewear, but i very quickly changed my mind, after for so long using high street/ shopping centre optometry o...Read more
utlets for product and at comparatively great expense, using Aus Specs i've saved so much in cost for the same quality in product - now i just get my eyes tested every 2 years, ask for the script and order what i need through Aus Specs - it really is that easy and product is on my doorstep within a few days - my last order for contacts was placed 30/05/15, i received them 3/06/15, fantastic! - i order contacts 2-3 times a year and glasses as needed or if my script changes - i cant say enough about Aus Specs and i recommend them to everyone. My family shop for eyewear no where else.

Followup review
This is my second review on Ausspecs and I am pleased to say that not much has changed since my last one back in 2013.
Unfortunately I have a family that regularly needs glasses and not having health insurance I am a real scrooge when it comes to finding the best quality at the best price .
In total now we have had around 12 pairs from ausspecs and all have been of excellent quality, great price and the staff have been really helpful.
Again and still, I would highly recommend this company.

Rimless eyewear costs
I completed a lot of research before placing an order with AusSpecs for multi-focal rimless glasses. I guess I am fussy (particularly with purchases on the internet) but I am really happy with the result.
The rimless I purchased were one third of the cost of similar type from opticians. Before placing the order I did query a number of things and received quick responses. Previous glasses were Marchon Airlocks and I believe the AusSpecs ones are lighter as well as much, much cheaper.
I also like Silhouette glasses but I can see that ...Read more
there are AusSpecs ones which are very similar. Also like the fact that one can choose different different lens shapes. I like a variety of glasses but not at the prices most retailers are asking at rimless at between $900 and $1,000 pair.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Be cautious!
I am sharing my story so that potential buyers can avoid the unpleasant experience I had with AusSpecs.
Ordering multi-focal glasses is fraught with danger unless you know a lot of technical information about the different types of lenses available. Unfortunately, I was quite ignorant, having always purchased glasses through an optician, and happily ordered what they suggested without knowing the ins and outs of the various types.
I placed an order for a pair of multi-focal glasses with AusSpecs, and selected standard multi-focal lenses...Read more
. When the glasses arrived I couldn’t see with them at all, and was advised by AusSpecs to take them to an optician and have them adjusted. They were adjusted so that I could see with them, but only if looking directly ahead. Any slight movement to the left or right caused a blurry patch of vision to appear. I could not wear the glasses. The optician said they had been made with a different technology to the new pair he had just supplied. When I contacted AusSpecs about the situation, they said I should have ordered digital multi-focals. They were willing to honour their refund policy which for multi-focals is a refund of 65% of the total amount paid minus another $9.95 for postage that had been free at the time of purchase. I enquired about having the glasses remade with digital lenses, but they said for such an upgrade there would be no refund applicable. The full cost of the original lenses would be lost and the postage cost would be deducted from the price of the frames. Although I pointed out that I could obtain a 65% refund and then place a new order, they insisted that for an upgrade there would be no credit at all on the lenses. I found this illogical and baffling, and was happy to take the partial refund available and put the experience behind me. From my payment of $161.45, I received a refund of $94.99.Similar opinion? Perfect
I have been wearing multi focal prescription glasses for the past 30years and I have always purchased from a retail optician. I waited nervously for my Ausspecs online purchase delivery. They arrived yesterday and I am still in awe at how perfect they are. Thank you Ausspecs, I will most definitely be returning.

Fantastic glasses and amazing service
AusSpecs were really fantastic with my glasses. They double checked my prescription, and where one or two details had been left out they checked again with me to ensure that the glasses and lenses would be perfect. When they arrived and I put them on it was like they'd already been custom fitted and I am really thrilled. The service was excellent, polite and fast and so much easier than having to find a park and try on 20 pairs while not really being able to see what they'd look like. Thanks so much AusSpecs, I'll see you again next prescription!

Cheap lenses that won't last as expected
I bought progressive glasses for my mum and myself. The price is good compared to retails, however they scratched so easily (I paid for the premium lenses). I would not buy next year as I would rather pay a bit more and get better quality lenses that would last longer.

Highly Recommend!
I was wary at first of buying glasses online, simply because of size and fit and trying to figure out if a style suits. I bought them for my 10 year old son as his first pairs of glasses. Ordering was simple and easy and we were able to buy two pairs with their two-pack promotion. They arrived within two weeks of ordering with tracked shipping. The glasses fit my son perfectly (thanks to the measurements and information provided on each pair of frames), and suit him very well. They are excellent quality, strong and durable. I will definitely be using AusSpecs again, and recommend them to anyone looking for great quality and excellent value for money.

Excellent company selling great eyewear at discount prices
I have been buying spectacles from this company for almost 2 years now and have been very happy with all my purchases. I'm one of those people who are always losing my specs or damaging them, so it was really a strain on my finances having to pay out between $185-$250 at the local optometrist every time I needed a new pair.
I'm short-sighted and need a correction of about -2.25, and have a slight bit of astigmatism in one eye. So far I've ordered a three pairs of ordinary glasses, two pairs of sunglasses and a pair with transition lenses. ...Read more
The ordinary glasses cost around $40 each, the sunglasses about $55 and the ones with transition lenses about $100 – a big saving on what I used to pay. In each case the lenses were made exactly to my prescription and gave me perfect vision. All of the frames I ordered arrived looking exactly as they did on the website, and they seem to be just as good quality as the overpriced ones I used to buy locally. There is a huge variety of styles and sizes displayed online, so you should be able to find exactly what you want. It's important to measure a pair of your existing glasses so that you know what the frame width and arm length should be, to ensure that the style you have selected will actually fit your face. The only drawback is the fact that these glasses are made in Hong Kong, which means that you have to wait about 2 weeks for them to arrive in the post. For this reason AusSpecs mightn't be the best choice if you need your new glasses urgently, but if you keep a spare pair in the drawer this is the perfect way to get your next pair of specs. Website is easy to use; low prices; very good quality productsSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Excellent company to deal with
I've ordered three separate pairs of glasses from this company. Every single time they've been outstanding. I've had a lot of trouble with online glasses sellers in the past, from ignoring emails to advertising products they don't even sell. Then there's the ones who attempt to make you think they're Australian when clearly they're not.
The last pair of glasses I ordered from AusSpecs was a pair of sunglasses with large curved lenses. With other sites, I've had a lot of trouble ordering exactly this type of frame, with many flat out refusing...Read more
to do it. AusSpecs sent me an email saying that due to my high prescription, there may be some blurring around the edges. I told them it was fine and to make it anyway. They responded to my emails instantly and started making the glasses without a problem. I got the glasses and the blurring is hardly even noticeable. Truly excellent glasses and I'm really happy with my purchase. Excellent service, very quick delivery, great productSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Once burnt, twice shy!
Ok, here is my experience. Ordered multifocals, website experience was good, allowing script upload and input of all parameters. Arrived a week or so later. The specs had a very strong chemical smell that took a while to fade, even after several soap washings, but I'm being picky. Then I ordered a pair of bifocals. After a week I was informed that
<blockquote>I am sorry to inform you that our lens crafter tried and failed to make the Bifocal with a +0.75 add. We have no other option than to refund this order.</blockquote>
But then why did...Read more
your website allow me to make the order? Surely the website algorithms should prevent the ordering of lenses with scripts they cannot handle? Anyhoo.... I gave them the benefit of the doubt (Jeez, that always ends up being a mistake!) and ordered a more expensive pair with special "Computer-Reading" transitional multifocal lenses, in the middle of December. I only got them 3 weeks later. Disaster! After wearing them for a day my eyes were so painful and bruised that I could not sleep. I had to take painkillers. I took the glasses to the local optometrists and he found that they were wrong on several parameters eg: Right Eye correct script: Sphere: +3.50 Cylinder: -0.50 Axis: 30 Add: +0.75 Glasses supplied with: Sphere: +3.75 Cylinder: -0.75 Axis: 38 Add: +1.00Similar opinion? Hello, who would you recommend in adelaide sa to do an eye test for glasses ? Also is there anyway I am able to use my existing titanium frames /that were very expensive but light .
Regards Dennis

Hi Dennis - sorry, no idea about eye tests in Adelaide. I'm in Melbourne. I used Spec Savers and they were good. Apparently you can re-use existing frames.
Janet M.AusSpecs
Hello Dennis and thank you for your question.
Being that AusSpecs has been supplying glasses as a third party scenario of over 10 years you can imaging that we get a lot of feedback on which stores are best and which ones, not so much.
During this time we have formed the opinion that opsm might be the best for prescription accuracy and customer care.
One big difference is that opsm are company owned store (owned by Luxitica ) so their focus is more toward looking after their clients and building a long term relationship.
They are generally very helpful in supplying you with a copy of your prescription on request.
Still very expensive though.
With regard the re-glazing of your "Old Favorites" yes it can be done but the cost is often prohibitive.
Unfortunately we now live in a throw away society meaning that for about 1/3 the price of lens replacement you can buy a brand new complete set. Perhaps you could get a quote from your optical store at the time of your eye test before making a judgement call :)
All is not lost though, we highly recommend our clients to send their old glasses to Lions Club where they can do the most good .

I do hope this helps and you are always welcome to drop us a line here at AusSpecs

Hi,
I will buy rimless glasses and would like to find out what Ausspecs rimless lenses quality is.
I used to buy my rimless glasses from Zenni. My recent experience is very bad with Zenni as their polycarbonate lenses keep developing cracks around the bolt holes in 6 months or so, typical problem with rimless glasses!
Has anyone experience with Ausspecs rimless multifocal glasses?
Cheers
