Excuses!
Yet another delivery failure from Australia Post & my local Post Office failed to let me know an item had been left there by the driver, with no card for me, no follow up notice either, so they sent the item back to the seller overseas. When I rang to complain about this, the officer said firstly, the driver was unable to find somewhere to park as I live on a busy main road. Fair enough, although untrue, I have a driveway that other drivers park in but I will give him the benefit of the doubt. Problem really is with the local post office for ...Read more
not giving me notifications. The thing that has really annoyed me though was the Auspost Officer, decided to look up my house on Google maps to see if I was telling the truth or not!!!!!!! What the heck? No solution to the problem but insult added by the customer service officer who clearly doubted what I was saying. I'm absolutely disgusted with Australia Post constantly making excuses for bad behaviour. There is rarely a good outcome, always win for them and lose for the customer!

Thanks, I’ve already done so. The seller is out of pocket as well as he’s kindly resending it at his expense. Heaven help Australia Post if the same thing happens again!

service with national identity.
When the first post office was established in Australia in 1809, the postmaster, Isaac Nichols, would sort and distribute the mail from his Sydney home on George Street. As the colonies developed, the need for overland communication and supplies transportation between them increased; thus, more mail routes were established across Australia’s oft-hostile terrain.
More than 200 years later, the Australia Post remains the nation’s oldest, continually operating business with more than 4,400 outlets coast-to-coast. In a given year, the Post is responsible for delivering five billion items to 10.9 million addresses – quite an increase from its humble beginnings in 1809.

Today, Australia Post is primarily motivated by three customer needs: convenience, access and choice. The retail sector as a whole is experiencing a significant reconstruction in order to better service those needs, and Australia Post is no exception. great service with a smile

My parcel was supposed to arrive by today but it still says it's being processed through a Sydney facility when I check the tracking progress. Could you possibly find out where it is? Tracking number is UWQ864411801000930303

I sent an A4 sized letter from the UK using international tracking. The letter arrived in Sydney on April 22 but the last notification is still saying Sydney awaiting clearance inbound after 4 days. Is this normal?

Hey Freddiec,
Without the tracking number I'm not able to advise much but based on that date it should arrive some time next week. The 22nd and 25th were public holidays here in Australia which would have delayed processing at border control. Once the item is handed over to us the scans will change to "processed at facility" and the item will be delivered a few days later.
If this hasn't been delivered by May 6th at the latest please contact the postal authority you sent this with so they can investigate further.

Tracking number is LB 104273342GB. Border agencies say they passed it straight through to Australia Post as it was only an A4 sized envelope containing papers. Please start accepting responsibility for your employees and not blaming border agencies all the time. They would have no reason to hold letters.

Hey Freddiec,
When ever an item is handed over to us it it processed by our main sortation facility in that state.
After looking at the scans for this item I can see that we don't have any scans for this item being processed at any of our facilities yet so I recommend getting in touch with the sender about this so they can initiate that investigation with their postal authority.
