ASPIRE499 with Bunks and double bed
The finish and quality was as good as any others.
The van is reliable and only problem was loose wire on water guage which Avan fixed without any hassles. This van is the most comfortable I have owned and I did own an earlier Avan plus a couple of Jaycos which were good but not as good as this one.
Towing is hassle free and follows me a dream.

After 3 years finding it a great van.
Nice van, easy to tow. Has rear double bed could do with a little bigger but very comfy if have the inner spring and not the foam. Kitchen consisting of gas cook top, microwave oven, deep bowl sink, 12v range hood with light and 3 way fridge. Rear combination shower/toilet with separate vanity not a problem very compact. It has reverse cycle air-con. Would recommend.

Great little van
To find a little van with double bunks a double bed and shower and toilet was a big challenge with out going to a 20 ft or bigger van. This little van has it all, we just love it. Great to tow good clearance every thing we need for our weekends away. Like another person said they are not a $70 k van so don't expect a penthouse on wheels, but we love it and have had no problems.Hard to find a van with all this brand new for under $40 k with a 5 yr front to back warranty.

Very happy with aspire 499. Great after sale service by AW RV World
Bought an aspire 499, very happy with it. Nice and light and tows like a dream but most of all it was affordable. We use it to visit family who live in Vic and Wa and just sit it on their front lawn. Also use it for a few weekend trips here and there. We bought it through aw rv world and have nothing but positive things to say about them. We will be looking to getting a new van hopefully soon with an island bed and separate shower toilet, I like the avan frances.

Nice Caravan, 499 HT Aspire
Great van I love it, the wife has some reservations, easy to tow with an older 80 series Landcruiser and a petrol Hilux.
Because it's an easy van to tow and park and we live in southern Western Australia, our children live in Victoria and Perth so we use it as our personal space when we visit them. It also is used anytime we head off on weekends away.
We bought it 2nd hand Jan 2015, the boot had leaked and destroyed the Camp room, we are getting new walls made up to fit, however the Prostor wind out awning works very well and we are happy w...Read more

Minor issues
We purchased our 499ht in 2013 and have traveled over 16000km to Darwin the west coast Perth and back to Victoria. All that time we have had no trouble. We did make a few minor alterations such as under sling the axel because we found the clearance between the top of the tyres and the wheel arch was very small when legal load is carried.
We did also experience water ingress in front window but this can be fixed very simply by adjusting the cam setting on the window latches. With the bed up against the wall making it is a pain. But if you can put up with a small van then I would say it is for price the best value for money available on the market today. Happy caravaning!

We love it
We bought an A-Van Aspire 499 HT through A-Van Brisbane, at the Brisbane Caravan Show in late 2012, we live in Townsville North Queensland which is 1368 km away by road for those who think it is just outside Brisbane. (Don't laugh some people are that geographically challenged). We didn't pick it up until June 2013, so we have had it now nearly 12 months.
The design & weight & price were perfect for us, it had most of the features we wanted, built in battery & charger, shower & toilet, awning & outside table fitted to the side of the van

Value for money Avan Aspire HT 499
We not long ago bought the Avan Aspire HT 499 with adventure pack. We love the van and the budget was right for us. General speaking from my experience you always get what you pay for! The AVAN for us is exactly what we wanted, covered all the bases without the too hefty price tag. I believe that when purchasing a caravan of any brand you have to consider how far away you local dealer is and look at the review of your local dealer, as to how they deal with warranty issues!

r researching the Thetford toilet has a 3amp fuse hidden inside after removing the cassette, however this fuse was OK, there was also a 3amp fuse under the bed which had blown, which also runs a few of the lights! After replacing that one with a 5amp fuse have had no probelms! Also minor design fault, that the door to the van if leaving open and clipped back on the van, does not allow the window above the sink to be opened ( does not worry us too much), and also covers the two vents for the airflow for the fridge! ( once when we were using LPG for the fridge and had the door open all day, it appeared to heat up a bit, but we just closed the door and the temperature around the fridge enclosure reduced fine! Lastly the Adventure pack towball height was mounted to the bottom of the drawbar, which for me with a lifted Prado, was way too low. I have purchase 40mm thick steel billet, drilled holes, fitted longer bolts to raise a bit for my vehicle, if you owned a normal sedan the height is probably OK but if you have a remotely high towball mount you will probably need to raise also! With Avan, we are really happy, Compact, light weight, VAN! I would recommend having that desire to fix minor things yourself if buying an AVAN, ( being a tinkerer like me). We love it exactly what we wanted! Inexpensive new Van, Minor things may need attentionSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

We have a 499. There is a mains socket in the wardrobe with a plug in it but switched off. The lead from the plug goes down a channel in the wardrobe. Does anyone know what this is for? Thanks.

Is it for the hot water? Is it for the fridge? Microwave ?Don’t know the layout of 499. We have the 555.
On my 499 theere is two leads from the power point in the wardrobe, the black one goes to the microwave and the white one goes to the aircon but there is another black lead that runs down the corner then disapears at floor level, this is for the small screen on the outside of the wardrobe that tells water levels and battery levels as well as controling the water pump
