Rusted within one use
Really disappointed that rust spots developed after one use. For the price these should last longer and be better quality.

Love it. Good for amateur chef
I like these knives. I am an amateur in the kitchen but just wanted some decent knives that are easy to maintain.
I previously had a cheap set and didn't take care of them to lazy to sharpen them on the steel so I like these because they have an inbuilt sharpener.
They cut very well. My friend who is a chef has told me they are good quality. I also like they have matching steak knives.
If you want a pair of good priced, decent knives that are easy to maintain, these are great!

Love them
You must read the instructions first, I know what you're thinking - instructions for knives, but yes.
Beautiful sharp knives easy handles and feel nice to slice and chop. Slices though meat just like butter.
Best knives I've ever bought

You get what you pay for
The actual composition is actually the best on the market - each knife in the set is different and serves different purposes.
Ive read a lot about the chipping and rusting complaints, have had the knives for 3 years and nothing has ever happened to them.
However, the knives are made from fairly soft metal - meaning they do need to be honed everytime you use them, otherwise they go blunt fairly quickly. And I do find the need to sharpen the chef knife with a 1000 grit whetstone every second month to maintain a razor sharp edge.
That being s...Read more

They are ok
Ok knife set, but then again I am coming from a ten to fifteen dollar knife set from k-mart. Just really wished I knew how to use the honing steel.

These knives are great!!
I bought these for myself just recently and they are fantastic!! Easy to use, easy to clean and store away nicely. I haven't had any issues with them. They are nice and light to use too.

Not worth the money.
These knives are not worth the money. I have knives that i had to have for catering college more than 30 years ago and they look awful but are still in very good working condition. I thought that i would buy new knives simply because mine look so dreadful, i bought baccarat and wish that i had not. I rarely use them and have to constantly sharpen them. In fact i bought ceramic knives from K Mart around three months ago that cost $5 each and they work amazingly well.My advice, K Mart, ceramic knives, $5 each, can't go wrong.

Still waiting
I contacted Baccarat Feb 20th, 2018 regarding issues with 3 knives. They replied they would send replacements. Seemed promising.
Despite another email and a phone call from me to their Customer Service Representative, it's now 4th May 2018..... I am still waiting.......

The knives are wonderful
I purchased my Baccarat Sabre Knife block 14 piece set in January 2018 and thrilled with the knives. However not happy about the scissors included which I used to cut an oven bag and the scissors broke in half. So now I have a beautiful knife block set with a hole in the middle where the scissors should be

Top knives. Brilliant design
I have been waiting for Baccarat knives for a very long time, and when I saw them at 75% off, I thought - why not?? And I'm so very pleased that I did. They are absolutely fantastic knives. I did my research first so I knew which ones I wanted to buy. I will never look back now. I absolutely adore them!!

Don't hate it but don't love it..
We were gifted this from family when we got engaged but had heard that Baccarat was a great brand so we were really excited. We used the set for about a year and all of the handles started to crack, some bits fell off. Robin's Kitchen replaced them and said it was likely from putting them in the dishwasher so a hen we got our new set home, we decided we wouldn't put them in the dishwasher to avoid damaging them. Not once have they gone in the dishwasher but, once again, the handles have cracked - they've been that way a few years now. Other than that, we do like the knives and we use them all the time.

ok
When I first use it, it was great, because the design for the knife holder is pretty handful, but then I found out that the knife is not sharp at all

Chefs knife snapped tip.
The Chef knife snapped the tip when cutting pumpkin. Must of had a fault in the metal. I have used it on pumpkin plenty of times. Its a shame because i use it all the time and had to buy another one.

On "special" or not, don't buy
Like most reviewers we bought these knives expecting them to be a good quality product. DON'T! As most say they do lose their sharpness very quickly, as in we sharpen them almost every other time we have to use one and they get rust spots all the time (I only hand wash them). Don't waste your money...

Disappointing
I bought a set of knives for $199, reduced from$399. Within weeks the blades became chipped. We went back to the original store and as we didn't have our receipt, we could not get a refund. That's ok - we should have kept the receipt. That was over 2 years ago. In a cookware shop I remarked to my husband to avoid buying a Baccarat coffee percolater as in our experience, the metal was not good quality. The shop assistant overheard and asked us to bring the knives in as Baccarat were proud of their product etc, etc, etc. We did as asked with no e...Read more
xpectation. We were then informed that we could have four knives replaced as a good will gesture but we had definitely caused the damage ourselves. To be honest, I am outraged. We asked for nothing and Baccarat basically made us feel like liars. No more Baccarat products for my little family! Ever! June 25th 2017 Update: Really poor quality knives. We bought Baccarat knives and within months, the blades chipped. Baccarat replaced them out of "good will" as they said that we had been "hacking" at something. It was a bit insulting as we absolutely had not. One month later, the new knives are chipping and we have been EXTREMELY careful with how we handle them and store them (sharp side up in the knife block). These knives are of dreadful quality and as a result of the cheap resources they use, they are not safe. I cannot recommend them and would not buy anything made by Baccarat again.Similar opinion? 25 year warranty is a crock
I bought these knives about 8 years ago. They're blunt so i sharpen them. They don't get sharp again and yes i use the recommended sharpeners. I went to get warranty and getting the runaround. Never again

Perfect
Good quality knives that look great. Very useful and smart. I use the baccarat cuisine pro knife sharpener rather than the supplied sharpener so I don't have to think about the right angle for sharpening. All the knives work well. If you want a selection of good knives that look great, I reccomend this block.

We were gifted, on fathers' day last, a six set block of Baccarat knives. They perform well but I was disappointed when I dropped one on our tiled kitchen floor the blade of the 20cm knife snapped in half just below the handle.I don't know where the set was purchased and cannot find a contact for the manufacturer. Is there any way I can obtain a replacement or at least get the company's email address?

Update: After another attempt at contacting Baccarat, I did receive a phone call from a different representative who was far more helpful than the first rather dismissive person I had dealt with. Replacements have now been received.
