Not impressed. I have had this serviced for not staying alight (it is gas), the temperature being incorrect (not hot enough). The initial service response was good, BUT three days later the same problem has occurred again. Another underdone roast dinner which is disappointing and frustrating. Will not recommend unless it can be fixed and be reliable!

Great design but..........

(1) Push button ignition in main oven has been repaired twice by local gas fitter at our expense
( 2) The glass lid has to be replaced for the 2nd time because the metal frame supporting the glass shows evidence of rust.
Stove was installed January 2015.

Best oven ever!

I absolutely love my Belling oven the twin ovens are fantastic and it bakes like a dream. No more burnt bases scorched edges it cooks evenly every time. The splash back makes cleaning behind the stove a breeze and around the jets are also easy to wipe over. Control markings protected by glass, side opening oven door makes removing food easy. I highly recommend this oven and looks great in my kitchen.

Absolutely useless

I really wanted a double oven, but only have space for a 60cm oven at the moment until my kitchen is redone so bought the Belling FSG61DOPFSNG.
Wow, what a complete load of garbage. The oven takes ONE HOUR to preheat, it takes me a total of 2 hours of oven use to cook a tray of frozen chips. Also, I can't use it under 180 or the flame goes out!! I've only had it 7 months.

Wow you replied! I have contacted the fitter for further information. Thankyou for the quick response. It seems I may be changing to a good review after this if it was the gas dudes fault and you still helped me quickly!

Rubbish

published

Bought this oven approx 2.5 years ago. First the handles broke off and Belling wouldn't replace them. The price they wanted was daylight robbery. Bought some generic ones off eBay. Much better and cheaper than the original ones. Now the cooktop won't stay alight. Appears the thermostat that detects the heat from the sensors telling the thermostat to keep the gas open is buggered. Have tried calling several oven repair places in Perth WA and they don't want to know about this brand. My recommendation is pay a little more and get something better.

Have a Belling 900DFT and there is a rear vent on the bottom left hand oven, what is this for?

Hi Sue,

This is for ventilation for hot air,

thanks

Lloyd

We have a brand new Belling BFS60DOIND freestanding unit bought yesterday.
We are currently running the ovens as per the instructions prior to use to burn off the odour.
A strong flow of hot air is blowing out of the front of the top oven door. This is both uncomfortable for the person cooking, and a waste of power.
The fan also makes a high pitched whine sound. Anay coment?

Was this resolved Lloyd? Sounds like a poor seal design on several of the Belling Models, particulary on the smaller top oven. It's certainly not for 'ventillation' on an electric oven!

I wanted to ask why I can feel the heat escaping from the top of the door of the top oven. Upon opening the door I can see the rubber seal going almost all round the edge to seal against the door but for about a 20 cm piece of flat chrome along the top. I tried the oven once and was concerned that it was letting out too much heat and I didn't want to waste gas by trying to get the oven to temperature. After about 15 minutes or maybe less, I used the lower oven to cook tea. I may have been premature by not letting it get to temperature properly but the heat coming out the door was concerning. I bought the oven to cost less to cook, not more?? It is model no; FSG61DOPFSLPG Stainless and I look forward to an answer. Chris

Hi Chris,

First of all, congratulations on your purchase.

It is difficult to know if what you describe is normal operation as what you think might be an excessive amount of air escaping may be normal (and vice versa). Can we grab your contact information please so we can have a chat over the phone?

Thank you.

Is it not for letting the steam escape? Gas ovens produce vapour. The lower oven has 2 vents / flues at the back, I didn't think the upper one did? There is also a fan that then blows away the excess heat. You hear it kick in after the appliance has been on for a bit and also after you have turned it off. I lose heat from here but have never had an issue (so far) with cooking in the upper cavity and I also have the gap with the rubber. I just always assumed it was acting like the flues that are behind the stove coming from the bottom cavity.
