Awful replacement for much older heater
After 30 years of service our old water heater died. It was a Bosch, so we replaced it with similar characteristics Bosch product, thinking that we'll get similar quality. This is what happens - there is continual fight between amount of hot water and temperature. Especially in winter, if we want hot water, it slows down to a trickle. If we want more hot water - water temperature drops.
We had plumbers here who were associated with Bosch, independent plumbers, but nobody can help us.
How is it that possible that very old product worked without above mentioned problem and its replacement is so much worse??? Would you not think that the replacement, especially where we talking 30 years, would be at least equal to its older model??

I fixed a problem that might help others
I have the bosch ci13 internal instant hot water system. A while back it started not lighting often. I had to turn taps on and off, on and off. Then one day it just would not light no matter what. Got a hot water guy to come look at it, and he didn't do much and then said I need a new system. He couldn't tell me what was wrong with it though....typical.....throw and spend a heap for a new one when there is one part probably causing it.....the real problem is nobody wants too, or knows how to work out what is wrong with stuff new days. nyway, I decided to poke around with it. After a lot of stuffing around, I discovered a poor earth problem. If you look at the ignition unit...thats the grey box with the LCD and the button on it......you will see a black wire with a ring connector fixed under the screw that holds the unit to the frame......that is an earth wire That screws into the central body which is made of a die cast ally crap. This gives a poor earth. I added another wire with a ring, put it under the there with the other one.....and ran the other end of the wire to the metal backing plate that the whole hot water system is screwed to on the wall. Presto....my dead HWS fired up first time turned the tap on and hasn't missed a beat since.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
