Bosch Home Appliances Serie 4 WAK24220AU

Was recommended this machine by two appliance repair technicians and the sales person. A colleague recommended Bosch and swore by them.

After 2 years, the paint/enamel under the detergent dispenser is corroding and chipping away. And the timer is wrong, tells you you have one minute left which lasts for waYYYY longer than sixty seconds; I’ve timed it at 5 minutes.

Now, the machine is leaking water underneath it from the spin cycle. When troubleshooting and opening the flap at the front and manually draining the water comes flooding out so l suspect the pump is going or has gone.

Incredibly disappointed with Bosch. I just invested in a Bosch clothes dryer and dishwasher and now very fearful they too will be lemons like this machine.

I have had this machine for just over 2 years now and have been really disappointed in it wish I have had stuck with top loader. Finding I’m having to wash some things twice just to try and get smell out so wasting so much water not saving. Lots of mould on rubber and I wipe it out after most washes called Bosch early on about this but they weren’t interested. Won’t be purchasing Bosch again.

Only had this mashine a couple of days,but have done a number of washers. Thought I would have a change from my old Fisher and paykel. Big mistake. Wool wash ruined a woolen throw, washed many times in the old mashine. The towels came out like boards not nice and soft even using fad softner. Had my Fisher and Paykel for 10 years and never had a call out.

I have now had this machine for a couple of weeks. It washes clearer than my previous front loader machine so I am very happy with it. I always reconfigure for a cold wash. It is very quiet A couple of comments before it was purchased the salesman didn't tell me that not all cycles take 7kg, the wash time makes washing an all morning task. I just need to adjust my sorting process. I would buy it again but I hope it is not necessary. I like the stars for water and electricity use.

On the weekend, I purchased and installed both a Washer & Dryer. Due to various problems previously, I had quite the back load of washing to go through. Due to space restrictions, I had to purchase a front loader, of which, its fair to say, I did not previously hold a high opinion of.

After 11 loads over Saturday and Sunday, I am now a believer! This washer handled it all in its stride, with the pre-sets making my life much easier. I was also very impressed with the speed of each load, but more surprisingly, the actual wash quality and outcome was absolutely brilliant.

Noise was a minimum as well.

Not that I did actually use them, but the 15 & 30 minute wash feature certainly was a winner.

I had two Electrolux washing machines break down on me so I really needed something that was going to last the distance. Although there's only three of us in the household I'm washing sheets / towels / clothes on a daily basis.

I did a lot of research and found that the Bosch was the most reliable for the price.

I've had it since January and so far very happy with it. I love how you can do super quick cycles from 15 minutes. You can also delay for up to 24 hours.

Super reliable and efficient machine. Quiet and love the range of wash cycles including the quick 15 min wash. The time for each wash cycle is displayed in the LED before you start the cycle so you choose the time for each load. Washes well. I'm very happy with this machine.

We had recently purchased our Bosch washing machine (wak24220au) and installed it over the Easter break by carefully following the instructions (e.g transport lock bolts were removed and the machine was levelled).

However, during the wash cycles, the washing machine started to produce very loud sounds from the right hand side of the unit. Upon completion of the wash cycle, we checked for any loose items like keys or coins in both the drum area and underneath within the pump cover area but there was nothing.

I'm really happy with this washing machine.

It's a no fuss, uncomplicated, sturdy machine, and great value for money. It sits in my euro launder, so therefor doesn't make too much noise behind closed doors - it's fairly quiet. I like the simplicity of the machine. It's really easy to use.

I put hand wash items through the machine, in laundry bags, and have never had issue. I have owned this machine for 6 months, and no issues or complaints so far. It does a great job of washing for 2 adults, more than adequate for our needs.

Based on my experience so far, I would happily buy again. I also own a Bosch Condenser dryer which was bought at the same time.

The detergent draw has a little plastic flap to make sure liquid is evenly dispersed, you know, like there is with just about every other washing machine out there. After purchasing this machine, we found out that this essential part is an optional extra that you have to order from Bosch for $22AUD + shipping. What the!?!? Why this essential part can't be included is beyond me. Especially because it would help the people get better results when using the machine.

Other than the annoying missing part, the machine is great, probably 5 stars, but I'd recommend getting another brand that includes all the parts.

The water and power usage are very good (great for me as I’m on a fairly strict budget). I know with old front loaders you couldn’t add a forgotten piece of washing once the machine’s started but you can with this machine by touching a button. The water disappears somewhere and is then pumped back into the machine for the cycle to continue. Very handy!

I have an old t-shirt with a vomit stain (seasickness). I had washed it twice (once by hand, once in the old washer) but it was remained stained. I was going to keep it to wear under a jumper ...

It's quiet. Plenty of programs to choose from. Also has "Pre wash and Intensive" programs. Husband's work clothes come out clean and he comes home covered in muck and mire.. I found the rinse cycle is very good and doesn't stretch our clothes so it's also very gentle. I was amazed at the great condition of jumpers after a wool wash. Still in shape.

After putting up with a dodgy Fisher and Paykel 8 kg for 5 years, we decided to pay good money for something that had quality. This machine is awesome and quiet and with teenagers does a great job on there heavily soiled clothes. Great spin cycle so drying time is cut down.

My second Bosch washer and it won't be my last. I had the "WAE" model before and have now moved to the WAK (not sure what the difference is).
The wash is great though. Love the fact that you can select 15 min wash and the spin speed at 1200rpm means the clothes don't need much drying. Nice large capacity and quiet operation.

I ordered mine direct, it is. Has been dropped which has resulted in the machin been buckled. Turn around time with support is up to 48 hours. Support is seems good but they don't keep records therefore you have to tell the story multiple tims when you call to follow up there delayed responses. Be wary, choose another premium product if they seem to have better after sales support.
