First Front Loader
Wife wanted a dryer, so needed to replace the top loader with a front loader se we could stack them in the laundry. First time owning a front loader and this one works a treat. Clothes come out clean and very dry. Machine is quiet. Heaps of wash cycles but generally just use the 60 minute cycle and 15min quick wash. Very pleased with purchase and got a free in store third party warranty via promotion. Electrolux do sell there own extended warranty, something the shops do not tell you as they are pushing to sell there own in store.

Excellent washer
My first machine was outrageously loud and I seriously regretted the purchase. Then a few days later discovered it was pumping the water out over the floor when draining. Within days it was swopped for a new one and I can’t be happier with new one. It is quiet as claimed, except for a few minutes at the end of the spin if using the max 1400rpm. When a cycle is selected, the display shows the maximum weight and spin speed for the cycle so no need to check the book. The sensor washing is fabulous and when the machine shortened the wash time and e...
Read morextended the rinse time, I realised the recommended detergent dose is too high - a result of making it suitable for both top and front loaders probably. The sensor cycles show the maximum wash time, then after a minute or two, reduce the time according to the dirt coming off the clothes. The same occurs in the rinse cycle as it makes sure all the detergent is removed. My wash cycles often are a third or half the original time displayed. If there are too many items for the preset cycle that you want to choose eg delicates, just choose a cycle according to the weight of the clothes and then adjust the temperature and spin speed to suit. Another trick is to do a large load of mixed items at 30 degrees and a spin of 1000 or 1200rpm. After, remove all the delicate items, leave the heavier fabric items and do the 10 minute 1400rpm spin cycle. Every item will be perfect for hanging out and this is faster and uses considerably less electricity than doing two separate medium loads. The possible weight range of cycles is 1.5, 2, 4, 5.5 and 9 kg with temperatures up to 90 degrees and spin up to 1400rpm( fabulous for towels, bed linen and jeans). There is a wool cycle and a tub clean cycle -an option not available on my old machine. If not doing a hot wash regularly, tub clean needs to be done every 1-3 months to get rid of all the scum and residue in the machine and the pipes. Features I really appreciate are the wide door opening and large barrel, so much easier for bigger items, and the “add an item” feature for that sock dropped on the way to the machine. Never imagined to see that with a front loader! Also the premix of the detergent with water before adding it to the clothes. The detergent drawer is spotless. A single cold tap connection is all that is needed as the machine heats the water itself, leaving your hot water for showers! Lastly, the clothing feels cleaner and colours are more distinct than with the previous front loader. After the initial hiccup, very happy with this upgrade. I recommend to buy it and do read the manual in detail.

Excellent performing washing machine
Bringing up 3 boys, I can tell you a washing machine that thinks for itself, does what it says, gets rid of most of the strange spots on my cabinet maker husbands clothes, leaves the wash so dry when finished. I don't normally say I'll never buy anything else....but I'll never buy anything but an Electrolux washing machine. And, apart from boys dirty clothes and a tradie husbands clothes and all of the dogs bedding being cleaned to perfection, l myself have lots of delicate clothing and that too is washed beautifully. And, unlike other washing ...
Read moremachines I've used, the bedding doesn't end up in a ball at the end of the cycle, so it too is washed properly. It's so refreshing to purchase an appliance that just "works" and does what it says. Very happy customer.Purchased in March 2020 at The Good Guys Physical store for $499.

Best machine we have owned
This washer cleans towels, cloths etc exceptionally well. Once finished wash leave the door slightly ajar to allow tub and seal to dry, this will stop mould etc forming on seal. Give the machine a cycle with washing machine cleaner every 3 months and it will last.

Not really a 9kg washer / time manager
My 11 year old Electrolux Time Manager 8kg started leaking due to a door seal split, and was advised by the technician who came out to repair it, that it was not worth replacing at a cost of $450! (Paid $700 for the machine 11 years ago). And if I chose to fix it - there could be further damage due to erosion and would probably need a new machine in six months.
So...I weighed up replacing it myself at a cost of $90 for the part alone. Youtube - and seeing how involved it was (just about pulling the whole machine apart), I embarked on looking ...

Never knew washing machines could be this good!
This is an excellent washing machine, great on energy efficiency, great water saver, plenty of washing options, including 60 minute, 15 minute quick wash, vapour wash. I can't belief how little lint it leaves, it's great! Saves on washing liquid and Softner as you use a lot less due to not needing much water to complete the wash. Would highly recommend.

No longer a top loader fan
Swapped from large top load washing machine to this front loader. Was originally apprehensive but has been fantastic so far. Much cleaner clothes much less water and detergent needed. Super quiet compared to old top loader.

Totally disappointing
the lack of information on how to use the large range of washing cycles available on the SensorWash EWF9043BDWA 9KG washing machine is totally disappointing, there is options for so many types of washes but even the bookette has no defining detail.

Questions & Answers
Has anyone had this machine for a while and regularly washed delicates? My old Bosch used to do well on this but for the last year or two it's been eating my wools and silks. It's cold enough here to snow in winter, so I use these fabrics enough to get them dirty ...
The delicates cycle and the sports cycle for Lycra gear are both great. I use them several times a week and every item washes beautifully.
I read a few disappointing claims that most of the washing options are only 5kgs. Only if you do the Cotton wash, do you get the 9kg rating and also that it takes 2hrs!! Can anyone confirm?
The Cotton wash and the Eco wash are the two that take a full 9kg. The Cotton wash is a sensor wash so although initially it gives the maximum time, after a few minutes it shortens that according to t...
Read morehe amount of dirt coming off the clothing. I find that the real washing time might only be half of the initial time because generally our sheets, towels and clothing are just lightly soiled. The same goes for all of the sensor cycles. Only 3 cycles have a set duration- Quick 15 min, Daily 60 min and almost 5 hours for the Eco cycle There are cycles for 5.5 kg, 4 kg, 3 kg, 2kg and 1.5 kg for delicates, wool, Lycra, bedding etc. With all the cycles there is a range of temperatures and spin speeds. Plus a 10 min spin and a tub clean cycle. With a family of 5, I am very happy with the superior clean, powerful spin, range of cycle options and quiet noise level of this machine. The way it mixes the washing agents before they go into the tub is also excellent. The big wide door opening is another plus. Just chose do you want 9 kilo or 10 kilo! The settings are just glorified names. If you put in 1.5kg of clothes then you can probably getting away with a 15minute quick wash. 4-5kgs maybe an hour wash. If you put in 9kg of towels or clothes t...
Read morehen your going to need to do a 2 hour wash. Just because the “wool” wash says 5kg doesn’t meant you can’t do a 9kg load just change the settings. This machine is fantastic all you need to know.Anyone having trouble with the washing powder caking in the draw. I'm using fab. And yes the flap is in the powder position.
