Bosch Serie 8 Heat Pump Tumble Dryers

Hello. We have just bought the WTW87565AU second hand. It is 2 years old according to the trader. I cleaned the filters under the door of the machine and when I looked in the hole it had heaps of fluff in it. I have since cleaned this out thoroughly, but then when I looked down beneath it to the base of the unit, beneath the thing with metal fins, I could see that water had collected on the bottom of the unit, and that there is yet more fluff there. There seems to be no way to take the panel at the base of the front (beneath door) off. How can I get in there to clean it out? thanks

I wish I'd read these reviews before I bought the dryer. Too many options on the front panel I can't even use it yet. Too complicated I just want to dry my clothes. It doesn't even start for me. Where can I get help to use it. Read the book but that didn't help. why can't these things be usrer friendly instead of have so many stupid options that we don't need.

I'm not sure. Just make sure you get the model with the largest compressor.

Hi Eddy B., Thanks for your question. There are some slight differences between the two models.
For example the door hinge on both models is on the right, however model WTY877W0AU is also reversible. Also with WTW87564AU the display uses symbols, whilst WTY877W0AU uses English. To make things a little easier, please refer the link:.

Under each product there is a tiny 'add to product compare' box. If you select the two models you are interested in, the page should show you each appliance side by side, allowing you to do a comparison. If you need any more help, feel free to contact us on 1300 369 744.

Bosch Serie 8 Heat Pump Tumble Dryers

The manual for the WTW87566AU Heat Pump Dryer is contradictory. If the dryer is being plumbed in, on page 35 it says to take the filter and rubber stopper out of the condensation container and put them in a little holding recess. In that position the filter is not actually doing anything, as it's just sitting in a dent in the upper moulding of the container. Then, on page 37 it says "Only operate the appliance with the filter inserted. So, which is it?

Also, even after moving the hose to the "parking position" as instructed in the manual, and connecting the drain hose to the sink drain, there is still water in the condensation container after each cycle. Is that supposed to happen?

Bosch H.Bosch Home Appliances

Hi Mickalex, Thanks for your question. If the appliance drain hose is plumbed to drain the water, then the rubber stopper and the filter should be removed (and placed as shown in the manual page 34 to 35). Otherwise (using water tank) the rubber stopper and the filter should in place as shown in page 37.
Even after removing the rubber stopper there will be some water in the tank, the tank always hold some water, it will not drain completely.
If you would like to speak to someone, please feel free to call us on 1300 369 744. Regards, Bosch Home Australia

Thanks for your answer. Perhaps at the next reprint of the manual the text on page 37 could be amended to clarify that "you should only operate the appliance with the filter inserted" only applies if using the water tank.

Hi, the air is always cool on every setting except warm, is this normal or is there a trick to this?

1 answer
Bosch Home Appliances
Bosch H.Bosch Home Appliances

Hi Justine,
Thanks for your question regarding the Bosch dryer.
Cool air being expelled is not unusual as the appliances draw in cool air to keep the electronics and compressor cool. The hotter the cycle, the warmer the air being expelled would be. If the appliance is not completing the cycle or drying the clothes then there may actually be an issue.

With the drain system the condensate container should not need to be emptied so it seems you have fixed the issue you had without realising it.

Hi Sel, We recommend using Easy Care or Mixed Load program then you can alter your settings to Fine Adjust. If you think the laundry is still too damp when the drying program has ended, you can adjust the degree of dryness to achieve a particular dryness level. Please refer to page 23 & 24 of your user manual. Kind Regards Bosch Home Australia

I have the same problem - i hate my new dryer. I use Easy Care, put it to the highest drying setting and Cupboard + dry and it is still hopeless. Really disappointed in the product.

Sue
Sue

By the way - we only bought the washer and dryer a few months ago. Also, really poor quality electronics on the front - and too many choices for washing and drying that are never what you want, and have automated settings that you don't want and constantly have to change. Do not buy - stick to Australian goods in my experience. LGs, Simpsons, etc have all been great. Don't know why we switched to Bosch.

We purchased our dryer just over 2 years ago. I seem to have the same problem as most of this thread. The dryer will start and 5 minutes in the empty tank alert will come on and it will stop. We actually have our dryer plumbed straight to the waste, bypassing the tank. I checked the line and it is clean. I tried draining to the tank and have the same problem. This seems like a common problem for an expensive machine.

Hi Melissa,
Sorry for not replying earlier. Contacted Bosch. Even though we were outside the warranty period they very promptly repaired the dryer under warranty.
Turned out to be a small pump. I always say you can tell more about a company when things do go wrong. For this reason, I would highly recommend Bosch. I also need to add, it’s drying better than ever.

I purchased this dryer about 26-28 months back and now it has stopped drying clothes for the last few weeks. I keep getting the icon to empty the condensate container which I have done like 20times now. I have washed it and emptied it each time I want to dry clothes but end up with the dryer beeping after a few minutes and with the icon coming up. I have even cleaned up the fluff filters but still no luck. Not sure what to do with it now. Can someone help?

Hey mate.
Might be an idea to call Bosch to have them come out as it sounds like a faulty sensor on the condensate container to me.
You might be lucky and one thing you could try is to bypass the condensate container with a condensate drain and plumb it into the drain in your laundry sink (or wherever the greywater from your washing machine goes to. The pipework should have come with your dryer itself. It is black rubber piping that is flexible.
I am yet to bypass mine, but it will save me having to empty it all the time.

Best of luck
:)

With no reverse tumble, don't the bedsheets end up in a big ball and wet inside? I have recently started to experience difficulties with my WTW87565AU condenser dryer. After 5-10 minutes it beeps at me and shows the symbol suggesting that it needs emptying. The container is empty and I have even plumbed the hose into the sink - same problem - in fact no water comes out at all.

This seems to be a common problem among people on the ieatwords.com.au site. Our unit is just over 24 months old and we don't expect this sort of breakdown from a very expensive German engineered unit. How do we get it fixed?

We purchased this dryer in December 2017, and for 12months (that is a full 4 seasons:- summer (hot), autumn, winter (cold), spring) we were delighted with it's performance. It then started to take much longer to dry any type of load, often not drying a load after 4 hours. Nothing has changed other than the drying time. Same type of loads, clothes are coming out of a Bosch washing machine, same washing liquid, filters cleaned every load. After 2 technician callouts telling us the sensor is working fine, we must just be using the wrong settings, or not understanding that this dryer is not meant to dry the clothes... The technicians hook a laptop up, but never open the machine to inspect anything. Great, the sensor is working, but what about the heat pump, is the air blowing into the dryer getting hot enough? Very disappointed and frustrated. How do we get this rectified via a replacement or refund?

Hi,
I have a Bosch serie 8 9kg heat pump dryer. Over the last week almost every load results in the 'remove fluff' error appearing. The machine stops, the error light illuminates and the only way it will restart is if I turn it off and then on again. If i try to restart the load by pressing the start button it just beeps.
The appliance did not display this error previously. In addition, the lint filters (2) are always cleaned (after each load) and no dirtier than previous use. Is this something that requires a Bosch technician or can I repair this myself? The dryer is supposed to have a self cleaning condensor. Furthermore, the washing machine is 8kg and the dryer is 9kg. It is always under filled.
I am also wandering whether a software update has been released that results in the drum spinning in both directions (preventing everything to tangle up in large wet ball).
