Had a similar problem, motor dont work after 6years.New replacement motor only have 12months warranty(too short) considering the actual usage on unit is only 3 to 6 months a year. A new complete unit, obviously a new motor has a 7 year warranty. I think the manufacturer themselves have no confidence in their replacement parts. So, should you spent a couple of hundreds dollars on a major component that might become an issue when the warranty expired in 12 months? No good for consumers confidence.

I currently live in Adelaide and we had a 'Breezair' (Harmony Range) evaporative air conditioner installed into our home some 15 years ago. The only problems that I ever encountered during that time, were replacement of the water pump (once), replacement of the fan belt (once), and have replaced the filter pads (twice) in 15 years, due to wear and tear. I get up on the roof myself each spring/summer to clean the unit/tank and flush the filter pads and also add about 20 mls of antiseptic to the tank on initial start up. Apart from that, it ha...
Read mores been one of the most reliable, efficient and cost effective products that I have ever purchased. I am currently in the 'planning phase' to build another home and I even changed builders because they buy/install 'Breezair' units. In case you were wondering, I am also going with the the 'Braemar' super six ducted gas heating for the heating. I have never tried or used this product before, but it is also manufactured by 'Seeley' who make 'Breezair' so will give it a go. So if your decision is based on previous reviews of this product, I suggest that you speak to your friends, family or even your neighbors that have one of these units installed to find out what they think. You might be surprised by the results, I still am!! ***Okay, I just had to replace the cistern and float today 19/01/16 and she is running beautifully again. By the way, I noticed someone else saying that these good reviews are from sales people? Mate, I can tell u 'straight up' that I have never worked for 'Seeley' or any other supplier/distributor of their products and before you go there, neither has anyone else in my family!- 12 reviews

Beautifully quiet aircon, moves a lot of air through the house so is really good for freshening up the house as well as cooling.
Very low water use is a added bonus and now come with a 7 year warranty.

Lots of promises and praises by both the installer and the manufacturer, but when my Breezair Motor died after less than 6 years none of them cared and did not want to know about it and didn't bother to respond to my emails. Some of these installer are just after your money and once got it and the unit is installed they don't want to hear from you.
Poor Quality Parts

Like others, went the "expensive" version, 1st service they forgot to turn the water valve back on, 2nd service poured that much chlorine in I felt it unsafe for our child to be in the house. After those experiences didn't pay for a service again, now 5 1/2 years since install the float jammed and as we now know installers never waterproofed the install, water poured from the top of the unit, past the "waterproof" membrane and caused our bathroom ceiling to collapse. 1 week later, float fixed cooler finally operates again, roof still has large ...
Read morehole with what seems like mould now taking over, still waiting for roof repairs and structural inspection to see what further damage has been done. Buy refrigerated is my advice. Ducted and quiet Poor installation, poor service, rude staff when problem arose, delays in repairsThis summer the unit would not turn on; got a repair quote from local supplier - $1,400 to replace fan motor and control board; after a few short years operation! Apparently caused by the manufacturer charging big dollars for the replacement modules. Some local companies who I called have given up on Seeley (the South Australian manufacturer) who charge heavy prices for the repair parts perhaps in the mistaken belief that, rather than repair, people will invest in a new one. Well, they are badly mistaken as I would now not touch their produc...
Read morets with a barge pole; and am now an advocate against their products and flawed business model; will tell all I know how disappointed and unhappy I am to be ripped off by this Australian manufacturer who does not respect his customers and seems intent on ruining his company's integrity and reputation. And we wonder why local manufacturers go to the wall! Great product while it was working. Not reliable and cost to repair is off the scale; they seem intent on trashing their product's reputation.its a lemon ever since it was first installed and only ran for 10mins then died! over the years it has failed and required parts except for one hot season and now this summer its failed again! buy something else folks! if you like being mucked around with warranty claims and hoping in anticipation that it will work when you turn it on and love heartache then its just the thing! purchased 2008 and here it is 2013/14 with new parts and its still failing! no power surges and its wired on its own circuit!
its supposed to be energy efficient but the first repair bill will destroy any savings for the life of the unit!
The fact its unreliable and expensive should be enough

We purchased our new Breezair in 2010 after replacing a older Breezair unit. Biggest Mistake!
Breezair rave about the new technology, however each year since installation we have had to call a service person out because of a number of varying faults. From simply not turning on, to strange clunking noises, it's been a hassle and inconvenience.

I purchased my Breezair Evaporative Air Cooler 12 years ago. My unit has been very reliable over the years. I like the way the cooler draws in fresh air form outside and blows out the old stale air through a partially opened window.
My Breezair unit is installed above my bedroom and I do not notice the noise from the motor when it is running.
The downside to this unit is that a door or window must be partially opened for the unit to operate correctly. This may be a security concern for homes without quality security screens fitted. Anothe...

Exactly right, Greg. Same experience here. Thought I would have many years peace of mind by investing in "good" brand like Breezair. Now six summers after, the motor is dead. $1400 to replace it. ...
