Same problem as other users. So clearly they have a known issue that they will not fix. Breville are a Company that are on the way down and there are plenty of better products on the market.

Do not buy this product. Ever.

Overall I am happy with the product so far. It cooks rice to perfection and there is no effort, just add rice, water and turn it on. Also has a keep warm function. The non-stick pot is also very easy to clean.

The only issue I have is the switch seems very cheap and the overall construction seems a bit cheap. But for just under fifty dollars, it is pretty good.

I purchased my BRC 310 soft and serve rice cooker 6 months ago. I love it because It cooks perfect rice for me and also same time I can do steaming.And also It cooks chick peas and grains perfectly.After cooking very easy to clean and and store.I purchased this from Myer when it was 20% off and I really happy with price and product.

This is a great rice cooker.
Cooks rice really well but unfortunately after 3 months, it started to malfunction and then eventually completely stopped working. Target was happy enough to replace. Replacement is so far working good. Here's hoping it lasts longer than 3 months this time, otherwise I give up.

This is my 2nd breville rice cooker, my previous lasted 10 yrs. After reading many reviews i decided to buy this model and so glad i did. From first use it worked perfectly ... rice was fluffy and cooked and did not stick to pan. This pan is better than my old one (excellent non stick coating).
For those concerned re sticking or not cooking .. i use 3 cups water to 1 cups when cooking white rice.. make sure u rinse rice with running water alot before cooking to get rid of starch (prevents spitting) and stir rice after it goes from cooked to warm and leave for approx 15 mins to finish cooking.

Not sure about the 5 star reviews for this. I find it doesn't cook rice well at all. And yes I always wash the rice first. You have to add at least one more cup of water than recommended and even then the rice can get a hard crust and looks too dry. Plus the soap bubbles and lid moving during cooking is a worry.
