Versatile cooking apparatus
I use this cooker to make? - you name it. Great for making bacon and eggs with the bacon down one end of the pan over one gas flame and the eggs at the other end over a second gas flame. Able to adjust the flame at either end according to the state of play of the separate ingredients. Only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because it needs a glass top and it could be of a sturdier build. I would be prepared to pay a 25% premium for those features.

The biggest and the best Slow Cooker
I have been using this beauty for 4 years. Love the size and the fact I can sear meat on my cooktop then transfer to slow cooking in the one pan. I often prepare the evening meal before going to work (or ready to go the night before) and walk in the door to a delicious meal waiting for us. I set on automatic so it then reduces to the low setting, reading other reviews, this setting is all you need for slow cooking as well as keeping food warm if you are out for the day. The huge 7 litre capacity has soups simmering most weekends.

Fantastic slow cooker
I love this slow cooker. The pan can be used on the stove top (or even the oven!) to brown the meat, or saute some onions, and start the cooking process. It is then easily transferred (the handles are still cool enough to touch) to the base. It heats evenly and cooks beautifully.

No sear on induction/no timer/no keep warm setting
SEAR OPTION NOT COMPATIBLE TO INDUCTION STOVE TOPS
Just got this cooker from Myer (with free chopping board). Advertisements for it say "sear" and seal in flavour etc. However, this is not an inbuilt sear setting and you have to remove the inner tray/pan from cooker and put on your stove top. My stove top is Miele induction. I cannot sear on induction with this - this was not clear in advertising and I feel cheated. Please note: The Myer sales lady also said "this is great, with sear option you can seal in the flavour and only have to us...Read more

I really like it but it needs a keep warm & timer function & glass lid
I've been very happy with this slow cooker so far. I love searing in the same pan, it's very easy to clean. The biggest negative for me is that I really wish it had a keep warm & timer function. I'm not sure why so many Australian slow cookers tend not to have this functionality but I really want it. A glass lid would also be a bonus which I believe they're developing currently.

Customer service what is that?
Bought this slow cooker as it was large enough for my families needs. I had it for 3 months and the inner pot began to pit as if someone used a drill on it. I called customer service was given reference number and told to take the entire unit back to store and get a replacement unit. I took time off, went to store where I bought it only for store personnel to give me strange looks. Normally breville send out replacements they told me. The store rang breville after speaking to them and me They told me thatthey are now only replacing the part. S...Read more
o I wasted my time, my petrol, and my patience driving to the shop which is not a short trip. All breville did was apologise for the error. Not good enough when I called them all they said was a mistake was done. When you buy a product 4 times the cost of a competitors cheap model you expect a great product and better service which this is not the case my smaller kmart branded slow cooker which cost me $29 and is 5 years old works perfectly. Whenever I had problems with any kmart branded products (kettles, sandwich makers, and toasters) I got replacement without any drama. I believed breville was a good brand but after this all I can say is have them put everything in writting as what they say and do are two different things worst customer service ever. Puts me off breville products now for good not a nice way to treat people.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Absolutely fantastic, the best there is
Your flavour maker is absolutely fantastic, the best sc I have tried out of many. I love the fact there is no breakable parts, it is lightweight and so easy to clean. I love it so much I want another one, then I plan on disposing of several others

Fantastic appliance!
After my sunbeam slow cooker had slowly died, i decided upon this slow cooker as the reviews were great and my mother had one and she had no problems with it. I love the 7L capacity great for cooking lamb shanks and large dishes, I've even made fudge in this and it comes out amazing. Its great that you can take the pan out and cook on the stove top. Its one of my main appliances now i use it roughly 3-4 times a week! No problems. :)

Excellent - easy, practical, delicious food
Excellent size of 7L to enable large portions of food to be cooked, refrigerated and reheated. Great for casseroles, curries, soups. Delicious food from inexpensive meats, like buying chuck and blade steak rather than rump or scotch fillet, and getting the even more satisfying melt in your mouth flavour. Healthy as well, can stock up and eat more vegetables by making large soup preparations. I now buy fruit and veg boxes with no worry of it spoiling and having to be thrown out. Heavy dish enables searing of meats, onions, garlic and veg. on the...Read more
stove first before placing directly in the slow cooker. Fantastic for winter - have your house smelling of delicious food all day long or set and forget in the morning to come home to an already prepared tasty meal. Simple operation of slow/fast/auto where auto is fast then slow. Directions say 8 - 10 hours for slow cooking but I find mine cooks well in 7 hours. Cleaning is a breeze with warm water, detergent and a cloth as the dish is non stick. The large, solid dish can also be used on its own on the stove to cook whatever. Very handy and practical - used it on average once a week throughout the winter, late autumn/early spring. And these last for good sized 4/5/6 servings so one preparation feeds a family of four well with good leftovers. Simple, practical, solid feel, delicious food Large size needs good bench space or storage.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Winter meals lifesaver!
I've owned the Breville slow cooker for about twelve months, and this year (now that it's winter) I am using it at least twice a week. The large size (7L) means I can make a double batch of just about anything, and freeze the leftovers. The long length means I can cook lamb shanks easily. I make a fantastic Rogan Josh curry (Jamie Oliver's recipe), chicken casseroles and incredible beef stews. I love the "sear pan" as it keeps all the caramelising in the meal. My only wish would be for a glass top, however it looks like Breville are designing this at the moment. Fantastic product! I tell all my friends (some working mothers, some stay-at-home Mums) to buy this model.

't currently do that with my slow cooker. Looking at redeeming this with my FlyBuys points. Also, it doesn't seem to have a function whereby I can set it for a specific amount of hours just has Low so I'd have to be here to turn it off I'm guessing. Not into AUTO setting, have not used that on current model I have. Thanks for any advice.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Love this slow cooker.
I love how you can sear meat etc on the stove top and pop the dish straight into the slow cooker cradle. My last slow cooker was a fast cooker leaving my food well and truly over cooked by the time I got home from work. This one cooks just perfectly, every time.
Large capacity, stove top searing, non stick.
I wish it had a glass lid. Apparently this is something that Breville is considering :-)

ak wrists. The crock pot has quite large handles that are slip proof with some sort of silicone coating. It's very easy to move around and also easy when it's in its cradle too, as that has rather large handles on it too. There is no timer like setting on it so, yes, you do need to be there to turn it off. There is low, high and auto. The auto goes on high for 4 hours then switches over to low thereafter. I normally put mine on at around 9am and don't get home til 5pm. I put it on low and it's really only the chicken dishes that seem to over cook. Everthing else turns out perfectly.I really appreciate you taking the time to answer me DenimGirl. Thank you x

Love it!
Absolutely love it...best slow cooker I have ever had, the sear feature is brilliant, to use only one pot is very clever, also it's a good size for my large family. I would have liked a glass lid so I can see through and not have to open it to check, but I still love it.....it cooks perfectly every time!!
The sear feature..one pot
no see through lid

All In One
What a great product. On the stove top, sear your meat, heat and release the flavours from the curry, add coconut cream and bring to the boil. Then SLOW cook in the unit. Faster and much tastier than the old fashioned glazed pot that always broke. And the lid is stainless. So that won't break either.
Stove Top cooking. Cool handles to move the insert after cooking.
The base could have been more flat. The insert spun around on my glass cooktop.

One of the best small appliances I own
I had previously owned the original crockpot, and wasn't a big fan, then had new style cheap slow cooker from Aldi, okay but temp control not great, the Breville is wonderful, especially being able to sear meat then slow cook, I used it so often last winter, I don't know how I lived without it, doesn't burn, and very easy to clean
searing meat and cooking in the same pot, and dishwasher safe.

My new favourite kitchen appliance.
I have just bought a Breville Easy Sear slow cooker. It's fantastic!!. You just brown or seal the meat and/or vegetables in the pan on the stove and then put it into the cooker. It's non-stick so it's easy to clean and it's healthy because you don't need to use oil. Just a spray of cooking spray.(A godsend for weightwatchers). I just love it. I've used it 9 times in the last four weeks.
Looks good and very efficient.

One pot wonder
I have never had a slow cooker before, but this is great due to the fact that I can brown meat or cook onion etc on the gas cooker, then just put the pot into the cooker for it to do the rest. I like the auto setting which puts the cooker onto high for the first 2 hours then low for the rest.
Being able to sear meat or vege's on the stove

The most versatile slow cooker
The best thing about this slow cooker is that you can remove the pan and use it direct on the flame to caramelise meat and vegetables, and you can also put it in the oven to bake. You can also reduce the dish down on the stovetop once it has cooked to concentrate flavor. This makes a huge difference to the final taste. Probably one of the most useful appliances we have bought.
Ability to remove pan and cook directly

A pot of magic that cooks as you work
Love this product. I have always loved the concept of slow cooking but was always too lazy to brown the meat. This product allows me to brown and cook in the same pan. This little beauty makes a large amount so you can freeze meals too.
Large and can brown in same pan
No warm function meaning food gets cold after cooking

awesome!!
I got this as a mothers day present last year and it is one of my favourite appliance in the kitchen. I love how you can use it in the oven and stove tops. I use the all the time to make roast dinners and casseroles in the oven. Which you are unable to do with most other slow cookers.
It makes it so easy when you need to brown the meat for slow cookers. You don't need to transfer the meat from a pan to the slow cooker, you can just heat it in the slow cooker!! Saving on dishes and time :)
