How does carsales differ from the websites that don't charge for advertsing?

Hi Rthursty,

Thanks for getting in touch and great question!

carsales attracts more buyers and sellers than any other group of classified websites and has exclusive tools to make selling safer and easier.
Also note, cars advertised for $5000 and under are free to list on carsales.

If you have any further queries, our friendly customer care team are here to help on 13 72 53 or visit the ‘Sell my car’ page to see which advertising option works best for you at https://www.carsales.com.au/sell-my-car/

Hi, does carsales.com.au provide an Instant Offer for all vehicles listed for sale on the website? Also, how long after the ad is uploaded/approved before the Instant Offer is usually made?

2 answers
Carsales.com.au
Muhammad M.Carsales.com.au

Hi Teejay,
Thanks for reaching out.

If the car qualifies for an Instant Offer, you’ll receive the offer at the time of ad creation within the manage ads area.

Not all cars are eligible to receive an Instant Offer due to number of kilometres and age of vehicle, in some cases an instant offer can’t be produced due to lack of demand or data.

I hope this helps, you’re welcome to contact our customer care team on 13 72 53 if you have any further queries or visit our Help Centre at help.carsales.com.au for more information.

Kind regards,
Paul

From memory (I haven't checked).
I went on to the system, and looked at my add.
Then clicked on update.
It comes up a fresh page that includes:- sold car and or delete add.
I agree there is nothing to direct you to do that.

Each photo has to be less than 6Mb, also try remaining the photos, as I had a similar problem, and message was "error uploading photos". Not sure why the file name was a problem, but I simply renamed each file with a simple 1.jpg, 2.jpg, etc. and all good!

Cheers, Paul G.

Yes the file size has to be reasonably low, but at the resolution allowed, it was more than adequate. So invest in a relatively cheap photo compression app.
