Negative affect on lips and breath
I have been using Colgate sensitivity toothpaste daily for over one year. My husband began to complain about my breath after brushing my teeth at night and I noticed that my lips were becoming dry, irritated, and peeling. I come to realize the the toothpaste was the problem. After stopping use 2 weeks ago, my taste buds are better and my lips are slowly heeling. Would not recommend .

Makes my gums bleed if I use this too often.
I use Colgate Pro Relief very sparingly. It tends to burn my mouth, & if I use it day after day, my gums bleed. My very dry mouth from an auto immune disorder causes the bleeding, I think. I use this toothpaste the day I have a dental appt. It helps to numb my mouth very nicely :) Very strong tasting stuff, which can't be good for anyone, I shouldn't think. Is definitely not my toothpaste of choice. Colgate Sensitive (Multi Protection) is.

chemical burn on my lips
I picked up a big bag of samples of this product at my local charity shop. I should have realised that there must have been a reason that someone would give the samples away. I used it for a week and it made the inside of my mouth very dry and chemically burnt the outside of my lips and made them very numb. I do have sensitive skin and my husband did not have the lips side effects but it did make his mouth dry. I dumped the rest of the samples in the bin rather than donate them back to the shop.

Works a charm for me
A few months back I purchased the pro relief (multi protection) as I was experiencing sensitive back teeth when eating or drinking anything cold it definitely worked for me....before using this product I also experienced gum breeding after a month of using this product my gums stop bleeding also which I was very happy about.....when I went to purchase another tube I looked closer at the pro relief range and had seen there was a (repair and prevent ) in pro relief which targeted my problems more regarding gums ....I found this to have a little b...Read more
it of a worse taste than the ( multi protection) but nothing I couldn't live with ....it also is working well for my sensitive teeth I have found my gums are slightly bleeding again though I have only used this one for around a Week or so will be using it for a month as I did with the other one to see if it stops the bleeding if not I'll go back to the ( multi protection) I'll Will give an update on how it when in a months time...UPDATE!!!! Weirdly the ( the repair and prevent ) tooth past targeting gums did not seem to prevent or stop my gums from bleeding as the (multi protection) seemed to I accidentally came home with the (enamel repair ) I have weak enamel on my teeth from a child and a couple of my back teeth feel a little rough/ corroded....I will post up results of this in another months time.... which is around the amount of time a whole tube lasts.Purchased in October 2021 at Woolworths for $10.00.

Rub onto sore teeth or gums
I bought this as I was experiencing settling in pain after a crown and root canal was performed on a front side tooth. I would rub this onto the surrounding gum area and it did relieve the discomfort.
I'm glad I had this in my cupboard this morning. Today I woke up today at 5:00am from aching teeth sensitivity pain due to the take home teeth whitening kit from the dentist. I applied their "soothing" gel twice, it didn't work, so I rinsed it off. I rubbed Colgate tooth paste onto my lower front teeth and gum and placed the teeth tray over. It...Read more
gave me temporary relief for I'd say thirty minutes while I ransacked my flat looking for strong pain killers from previous dental work. I know Colgate Sensitive Pro-Relief is not meant for this kind of dental pain yet it did help. Well it's been a few hours and I drank tea not realising it would trigger sensitivity pain. I thought I may have to reach for pain killers but I gave Colgate a go again. Once again, I rubbed it on my lower front teeth covering with the custom teeth tray. That was forty minutes ago and it is dulling the pain. Happy days are here again!Purchased in March 2021.

Aching mouth
I have been using Colgate Sensitive Pro-relief for three months for sensitivity in my front teeth, but a month ago my gums started aching and I had a gnawing pain on one side. I also had constantly dry mouth and lips and went through numerous lip balms to combat this. I persevered not thinking it was my Toothpaste, until I bought Oral B because it was half the price. Low and behold within 2 days of changing toothpaste, my gums stopped aching and my mouth wasn't dry and sore any more. Colgate Sensitive is OK for a day or two, but not continuously, the side effects are horrendous.

If i could give a negative i would
I was recommended to use this by my dentist, my teeth have never been sensitive. I started using it and OMG after day three, i couldn't eat, drink anything hot or cold, my teeth were over the top sensitive. I have now stopped using it and it has been 2 days and i am now able to stand hot and cold foods. I take an anti inflammatory just to calm my teeth but this product is utter crap. Do not waste your money.

It does not provide relief for sensitive teeth -false advertising
No side effects, apart from money not well spent. This toothpaste really does not help at all with symptoms of sensitive teeth. it is in a rubbish bin now. Plain bi-carb soda and coconut butter do a far better job at cleaning and desensitising.

It makes your teeth sensitive
This is a scam product designed to make you keep buying more. It delivers the symptoms it purports to combat. A very common type of scam with these types of companies.

How do I get rid of this bad aftertaste??
This must have been my worst toothpaste experience ever. The toothpaste leaves a very bad, sour-like aftertaste that you can't get rid off. I've once accidentally drunk out of a glass with smoke buds in it which was horrible, but I'd probably still prefer it over using this toothpaste ever again.

Weird sensation
I'm not sure what causes it but my lips and tongue goes numb when I use this toothpaste. It's kind of like a tingling first then numbing
The taste isn't pleasant either and it makes me salivate heaps. I don't recommend it.

Painful burning tongue... numb gums. What changed in this Product? No Warnings.. No Notice on Packaging
I had used this product with no side effects for more than 10 years. Starting in December I started to notice changes to my mouth. I had dental work done in December and thought it was a reaction.. that would ease. No... my mouth continued to get worse. My gums numbed.. my tongue burned... all food tasted like metal. I worked on eliminated everything that I changed... only a week ago... did I twig.. to my toothpaste... the same as the past 10 years... I didn't change ... it did... but i have no idea what changed. After being on vacat...Read more
ion for 8 days... i realized that I used a different toothpaste than Colgate... during this time my mouth stopped burning... and i began to feel better.... but of course once i returned home... i started reusing my normal toothpaste... Now after 5 days...my mouth feels like it has been through a cheese grater... but the burning has stopped and my numb gums are beginning to feel something again. I will never use Colgate products again. I have alerted my dentist... and it became apparent that other patients were suffering from similar effects. But as we are NOT new users it took a lot of work to isolate the issue.Purchased in December 2021 for $5.99.

Colgate Pro Relief made my tongue sting was so bad it was waking me in the night
I have always used colgate toothpaste but this product really should carry a health warning. I've been using it for 10 weeks after having a sensitive tooth following dental treatment. After a further dental treatment my tongue starting stinging to the point it was so sore it would wake me during the night. I thought it was an allergy from dental materials and told my dentist that I might need the very expensive work he did on a bridge removed if my mouth didn't improve, never once suspecting it was the colgate sensitive pro relief toothpaste...Read more
causing all the stinging in my tongue. I'd switched to it from Sensodyne as it was cheaper and read somewhere it was more effective. My mouth feels like I've been sucking on a hot poker, will never use again! Colgate really ought to put a warning on it that it could affect some people adversely.Purchased in January 2021.

Avoid!!
My dentist recommended this toothpaste and initially it really worked for my sensitive teeth, however, after a few weeks I was suffering with a really dry mouth and ultra sensitive teeth, because this toothpaste was recommended by a dentist I did not think for one second it was the problem and continued to use the product until my gums were that sore I was convinced I was losing my teeth to gum disease, I also had several painful mouth ulcers and it was only at that point I thought it could be the toothpaste. After two days of not using the pr...Read more
oduct I still have a sore mouth but it is definitely improving and the toothpaste was definitely the culprit, the mouth dryness has stopped. The only use for this toothpaste is using it as a wood/plaster filler around the house!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Sore bleeding gums
Just after two days of using this toothpaste my gums are bleeding and very sore! Im in so much pain now I had to take Panadol.
Btw the blue tube pro - relief has better ingredients than the green one. The green tube has more nasties and this is the troubled one. I should check the ingredients before I purchased it.
