Horrible service that don't honour the warranty
Last year I purchased 2 tyres and a tyre fit and balance.
After 7 months I returned to Costco in order to honour the rights of the warranty, as one of my tyres has been going flat and I have driven over 10,000 kms since having the tyres fitted. Therefore, following the guidelines provided to me from the tyre centre. However, not only was I asked to wait 2.5hrs but when trying to book my car in I was told that I could not book in my car as I did not have a current membership card. These stipulations were never been communicated to me and are n...Read more

That's just life. Don't trust anyone.
If you plan on getting your tyres changed here, make sure you clarify which tyres you're having put on. By default, they'll always push their budget brand. I fell victim to this. I spoke on the phone to have my tyres replaced with performance tyres. I went to the counter and seemed the person knew about me calling in the morning requesting tyres. I naturally assumed he was aware i was after performance tyres. After installation, turns out to be the budget tyres. When confronted the person claimed he mentioned he was putting on budget tyres. Not...Read more

Worst customer Service
Went to return unopened Alcohol as bought too much for a function. Had receipt and was unopened. Costco would not accept the returns as my membership had just expired. They said that only way they would accept the return was to renew the membership. I felt that I was being held to ransom when I was there, The customer service members at the counter were very rude and didn't give a damn. After asking to talk to two managers and 20 minutes later they finally issued a refund. I found the customer service team were the worst I have ever dealt with and should not be interacting with the customers.

Not bad, but undercooked chook not good!
Bought a membership today (first time shopping at Costco Moorabbin). Thought the cooked roast chicken was great value for its size, until i got it home and broke it apart. Thighs really undercooked and could have made someone really really sick...not good enough! Needless to say our dog had a great dinner tonight. Be very wary when purchsing cooked food from here.

Shocking food quality
Wont be buying food at Costco ever again. On Thursday 2nd March, from Costco Moorabbin, I purchased 2 bags of Turkish bread rolls, with a "best before" date of 6th March. We served these up at a dinner Sat 4th march ( 2 days before the "expiry" date) and several guests noted mold on their bread!! Disgusting and embarrassing. We should take the bread back and complain though it's not worth the 45 minute return trip. Will certainly return my membership card when next in the area

Food Hygene is unacceptable
I just bought a hotdog from Costco. Condiments such as sauce and onions are self serve. To my absolute horror, I just saw the cleaner wiping the self serve area with a cloth, then use the same cloth to wipe the floor, then wiped the bench once again and then even more disgusting used the same cloth to wipe the bin!!! Now, I buy a lot of things from Costco, but I will never again buy hot food from them again!

Stay away from the CLAMS
Bought frozen bag of clams from Costco, I will be wanting my money back, clams were meant to be cooked, just needed reheating, well they were gritty, shells all broken into the tiniest pieces, not good enough, could not give them to the kids, waste of money!!!
Now you want a copy of proof of purchase, I will be taking this in with me to the store as you have overcharged me for a gift I purchased as well. Not happy Jan!!!!!

Cheaper fuel, quality & hard to find brands but Aldi/Coles can be cheaper at times
We used to visit Costco in Japan (Kawasaki store) and the prices were pretty cheap compared to local super markets. But here in Melbourne, the prices aren't always lower than some of the local shops - namely ALDI. We go to Costco to buy only the things that we cannot find locally or to eat pizza which is cheaper for that size. Sometimes those large pizzas are enough for two meals for us!
There are of course deals. But you cannot know about them before visiting. People do post about these on OZBargain but that user base is small because of the...Read more
membership fee. Fuel is cheaper than the local fuel stations near me though. I always fill the tank when we visit there. Sometimes it is about 15c cheaper per litre but usually about 10c. If you live near Costco and have to fill up the tank every week, then the savings can be substantial. You would save at least $5 per fill and that's at least $260 over a period of a year. Only Moorabbin (close to where I rented!) and Epping (close to where I bought!) have a fuel station.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Rude Cashier at Moorabbin location
I stood in line to checkout. The cashier was friendly with the person before me, greeting him by name and asking how he was. Quite cheery. I expected the same when it was my turn. Instead, I received the total opposite. Cashier did not greet me at all, scanned my items, told me the price and to scan my credit card, handed me the receipt and looked away. I confronted him telling him that he was a bit rude with me and that he did not even tell me "thank you" or ask me "how are you?" His response, "I did. I said thank you and have a good day." I c...Read more
onfronted him right away. I think I would remember if he said a single word to me. After his response, I told him that I just wanted to give him some feedback. His response was, "okay" then looked away to help the next customer. I'm not expecting him to be overly friendly with me. I just expect to be treated the same way other customers are being treated. If he wasn't friendly with the previous customer, I wouldn't have cared. Also, telling me he said otherwise instead of apologizing for the situation, is not good customer service. Why do I have to work so hard to be treated equally? Costco, you need to train your staff in what good customer care entails.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Good, not great
Taken to Costco by an existing member as a test, and the overall experience was fine.
However, the roast chicken I bought (albeit comparatively quiet cheap -- AU$6 / 1.4kg), was of the "Kirkland", home brand variety (not well received, from my limited Google'ing) and turned out to be under-cooked (*rubbery meat below the surface; some signs of blood; a little hispid in parts (feather stems not properly removed)). Moreover, not everything is "cheap" -- 2kg of generic apples ($8), 2kg mangos ($10), for examples, aren't particularly cheap... m...Read more
ore like, somewhat cheap(er). That, and many of the ready-made products (e.g., Thai curry, lamb korma) use preservatives -- taking the sheen off their otherwise seeming convenience. The $12K LG T.V. also looked a tad suspect, in an Age where electronic devices depreciate like yogurt on a window sill in summertime... On another point, being a burger / U.$. company, one must ask 'how much of their tax are they paying in their countries they trade in?' and, perhaps,'how safe are their (U.$. sourced) edible products?'. After all, it's not like the U.$. is the picture of healthy, First World food and sustenance...! Having said all that, I'll still probably get a membership (despite its photo ID nature... /!\), but will be very vigilant in future and use the place as a supplementary shopping stop-over; as distinct from a go-to destination. Spreading the wealth is always the best philosophy.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Rude check out register no customer service ethics.
Been a member before when Docklands was opened. Had bad experience about check out register cashier. For being rude and acting like your an idiot. Being a new member they should guide you and lead you what to do not acting like a boss and commanding you!!! No manners at all!!
Thinking just one bad apple to the company. So decided to become member for a second time and went to Costco Moorabbin.

cashier woman as said been rude and acting like a boss commanding you on which of your groceries to be punch in first! Hello!!! This is our groceries not her who is commanding us which is which to be punch in first!!! Also we are the customer here! Talking to us without manners and no customer ethics at all. Not even a slight strech of her cheek to smile. All is her eyebrows nearly meet together. Management should train their staff about customer service and ethics. Or you will be loosing a lot of customers! Also is it really value for money? Will your $60.00 membership worth for a savings?Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Costco has changed a lot and not good anymore
I was a member for a year 5 years ago when they have opened their first store in Australia, Docklands. And I was amazed by the variety of the American brands and products from toothpastes to cosmetics in bulks, sunglasses, jewelries, really interesting small kitchen appliances, tons of clothings etc.. Then this year I became member again after they opened their second store in Moorabbin and I absolutely shattered seeing how they have changed since then. Only some american brands mostly common brands you can buy anywhere in Melbourne, in coles o...Read more
r in woolworths. Prices are more expensive then market retailers and not worth it even you buy in bulks. So becoming membership for $60 yearly is not a privilege for different products anymore it s just a rip off for ordinary shopping experience. Never again.Similar opinion? Very disappointed first time moorabin Costco
Go in they check your members card, I was told I could bring 2 guests. After a long wait for my guests to get what they wanted, and then go through the check out with their items. I'm told sorry you have to do everything yourself they cannot pay seperatly which by the way on the check out you have to show your card again.
Are you kidding me you take 2 extra customers which had over $500 in items and I have to pay for everything and then they have to give me the money. What a load of crap unbelievable you are bringing more customers and you st...Read more

you can not find many bargain but worth $60
I agree to most review here that their price is too high, but I always have something to buy there, like roasted chicken, only 6.99 but much larger than local supermarket. Their cake and bread also very good and cheap. Most of their prepacked product are much cheaper than other's full price and higher than half price sale. So it is good for those thing you need but not on sale in other super market. Also their electronics is slightly lower, like the Shark vacuum is $100 lower than other place when I sign the membership card. If you bought it, y...Read more

Terrible customer service, price is not cheap, not worth the membership cost
Very rude staff, no customer service, I asked the guy at exit where is customer service, he said he is the one, and ask me to step aside and wait. Never seen this kind of customer service before, poker face on every staff member. Very regret paid for 60 dollars for this crap. The price is not cheap, for example, is more expensive than dan murphys when buy wines and beers. No point to go there.

Costco moorabbin
Do not buy any refrigerated food from costco moorabbin..members may leave refrigerated or frozen food items they don't want to buy and the items could be left out for hours. Staff are then instructed to place back on shelves instead of throwing it out..
This is not a one off..I've witnessed it repeatedly.

Don't waste your time and money
Costco should rename itself Costlyco. Poor quality and uncompetitive pricing. Don't waste your time and effort pushing the oversized, heavy trolley around the warehouse for a bargain as personally I could not find a single one. Fortunately you can get your $60 membership fee back.
I had heard that the meat was good, but looking at the quality and pricing of the meat I do not agree with my friends opinion.
Costco seems to be a very popular destination. I can't understand why, as the customer service is brash, you have to pay a fee and hand...Read more
over your personal details to have the privilege of entering the store, only to find that you feel unwittingly deceived after you have walked a few kms searching for that needle in a haystack bargain. Then you have your receipt and trolley checked on the way out AFTER you have queued and paid for your goods, so you have to queue twice to make a purchase!! What a rip.Similar opinion? What a rip off
Went to Costco today thinking I was gonna have some fun shopping with my family and hopefully save a few dollars as well, well I guess neither happened. What a joke this place is not only do you pay for a membership but you also get ripped off on the prices I guess they are looking for wood ducks who have friggin no idea what there buying. I'm sticking to Coles and Woolies (don't be a fool).

A whinge
Im a member of costco here in Australia, and for the most part l am very satisified, the staff are friendly and helpful, these warehouses are amazing and l always over spend... l like both the Ringwood and Dockland stores, for me they are a bit far though, its a day trip, so to find that a Moorabin store was opening l was excited... l went there last night and lm not impressed, these stores are for my bulk buying, the soap powder l get from costco was NOT in Moorabin, the coffee l buy again not there, l asked about them no one seemed to know a...Read more
nything... as l walked around especially the freezer sections, there were only empty boxes inside freezers in certain parts, but this l could look over except that the boxes were falling all down and looked dirty and messy, its a new store, and knowing its going to be over run with customers it should for the moment be over run with staff to clean up and restock constantly, l also thought it was dearer than the other stores but l'd have to go over my previous dockets to be sure of this and last but not least, your cafe ran out of hotdogs and iced coffee drinks, that again is just not right, its a new store, you over cater just knowing this.... So for the first time ever at a costco store l can honestly say one very dissatisfied customer and l hope l won't be again.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
