We make 2 coffees a day is thoroughly cleaned every time after use
We are on our 2nd machine after 18 months we had to send our first one off to a repairer who kept it for 4 months, after several complaints to DeLonghi they got in touch with the service mob and decided to give us a new machine and now the 2nd machine has has just leaked hot water all over the bench I would say it's terminal I would say they have a life span of six to 8 months we bought a DeLonghi espresso thinking they were at trusted brand how wrong was I, by the way when working it did make a good coffee . :(

Lost water pressure after very light use over 1.5 months
I used this coffee machine on weekends only over a 1.5 month period, and it's already lost water pressure. I'm now on hold with Myer (After the 20 minutes on hold, I will admit that the customer service rep was super nice and helpful) trying to sort a warranty return. When it worked (ah, those glorious 5 weeks! How I miss them) it was actually a solid little unit, good water pressure, did what I asked it to, but it's pretty ridiculous that it died so quickly.

It does what it supposed to do
Very easy to use, easy to clean, as an advice to make this machine works better you should get the coffee beans and ground it yourself pre-ground coffee ruins the machine performance to get the perfect espresso, the froth works perfect so moccachinos, cappuchinos, lattes, macchiatos, mochas, hot chocolate and the flat white are awesome very pleased with the machine.

I hate it
I hate mine I started using mine had it replaced in the first 6 months as the spout had a crack in it. Now 18 months later the spout is leaking water filling up the tray at least 3 times before I get 1 cup of coffee to this I burn my hand every time. The coffee is just barely dripping out from the coffee part. I HATE IT. Never again will I buy a delonghi.

Short Lived.
I have had 2 of these machines. Both lasted just over 12 months. Outside warranty of course. Both started leaking & spurting water from around the outlet.
Amazing coffe in the beginning however. But I'll be replacing it with something that will last longer next time. This is not a cheap machine for 1 coffee a day to only last a little over 12 months.

Great while it lasted
Great crema. Great taste.
The frothing stem blasts off on occasion, even when it's been given a good shove before use. Exciting, but a shade frustrating.
Very easy to use, very easy to clean.
Sadly it has now disintegrated after about 4 years. Can't turn off the water/steam stem and it has taken to leaking through the coffee filter.

Leaks water from frother
The machine makes good coffee but after few months it drips water from the spout and you have to put a cup under it. Took it back to Argos thinking it was faulty and the second one done exactly the same. Waste of money as Delonghi pass you onto a repairer that you have to pay customer service about as good as the machine.

No crema, terrible milk frother, noisy/rattles.
I purchased the DeLonghi Icona Pump Espresso Machine as my old Breville was about 9 years old and it was time for an upgrade.
Cons:
It is a very lightweight machine which means the whole thing moves around when you're turning the coffee handle
It produces very weak coffee with no crema
Makes extremely aerated/bubbly milk - even fluffier than one of those coffee vending machines (there is absolutely no way to make creamy milk using this machine)
I took the outer plastic cover off the milk steamer and tried to froth the milk that way which works ok until the inner cover pops off into the milk jug because of the pressure of the steam
The steamer drips water when not in use
Noisy - everything rattles when the machine is in use

Easy to use, quite compared to my Sunbeam machine
Was lucky enough to pick up my machine for $100 online. Wow, so quiet compared to my old Sunbeam machine. The milk wand froths the milk really well and quickly. I like that I can see how much water is left in the removable tank. It's a compact unit that looks great in the kitchen. I find that I need the double shot to make a mug of coffee. The only big negative for me is that it won't fit the mug under brew spout.

Love it!
I use this coffee machine every day since we bought it a couple of years ago and never let me down and still continues to make excellent coffee. The noise is not too bad and it would be the same with any other manual coffee machine, and anyway it only last for few seconds so that doesn't bother us at all.
The only negative comment is the steaming attachment that sometimes detaches when using the steaming function, but I am not sure if it's us not attaching it correctly. Again this doesn't bother me at all. I think that for the price this is a very good coffee machine!

Good value for the money - very noisy though!
After my extremely well loved but very budget Kambrook Cappuccino machine died, I was unable to find the same model. I settled on this machine due to the low price (just under $200.00 at Target).
It is a fairly easy to operate machine and always creates a nice looking crema every time. It took some experimenting to get the strength I like (strong!), and unlike the Kambrook, I found that NOT grinding too finely or packing coffee too densely actually resulted in a stronger brew.
One thing that took my back was the sheer noise of the thing...Read more
as it gets up to pressure to extract a brew - it is very loud. However it does its job pretty quickly so its no big issue. Parts that need cleaning can all be removed relatively easily and it requires a descale treatment every 200 cups - which is nothing unusual. If you want a fairly decent coffee machine for $200 or less, you could do worse EDIT: Just over two years after purchase the machine has died :( Still far cheaper than buying coffees and I will probably replace with the same itemSimilar opinion? Quite good
I'm fairly happy with my coffee machine. Despite what other reviewers have said, it isn't that loud compared to similar small manual coffee machines. In fact it's fairly quiet. When you first turn the pump on and it hasn't primed yet it is very noisy, but after that it's fine.
Makes nice coffee if you're making a double. The single seems to make coffees that are a little bit weak.
I like that it has a separate temperature setting for frothing milk, but I find that i need to take the external part of the frothing nozzle off otherwise it froths too much.

Love this machine!
I have had this machine since March last year and it has never missed a beat. Matches my other appliances and produces a nice cup of coffee. Took me a little while to get the hang of it after years of using instant coffee but once mastered, was lovely. If only I drank more coffee!

great coffee machine
This is a fantastic coffee machine, and I wouldn't expect anything less from delonghi. It looks fantastic and makes cafe quality coffee. You do need to hold the coffee machine down while putting in the group head, but it really isn't a problem. The pump is noisy, but I have experienced way worse from a sunbeam machine. The tank is a great size. To fit a standard size coffee mug underneath it, we take the drip tray out as it has a 7.7 cm clearance, which is good for a small latte glass.
looks good, makes great coffee and has a good size water tank. not as noisy as other coffee machines I have had.
the coffee machine is very light, and you need to hold it down when putting the group head on.

OK
Aesthetically very pleasing unit, makes good coffee and is relatively easy to use. The couple of things I don't like about this machine is that its a manual process to stop the coffee from dispensing and it doesn't easily fit most size cups under the nozzle. Othewise its fine but probably would choose something different next time.

Good
Have owned the machine for about 18mths and use it daily. I'm hesitant to complain about anything because when you can spend thousands on a fully auto coffee machine, this one has been [censored word removed] good value given that it is an entry level product. We use the double shot for one coffee, using freshly ground beans and the coffees taste excellent. If you're looking to buy this then note that you'll probably want a separate tamper because the inbuilt one is a pain to use. Our milk frother has been good, although I agree with others tha...Read more
t it's inflexible and not well designed. My wife bought another ECO310 for her work and the pressure in that frother was not as good - so there are obviously inconsistencies between machines. Once you get used to the different parts it is easy to clean. Ours is starting to rattle a bit, but no leaks or other defects. Our grinder is much louder, so the noise isn't a concern. Overall, we've been very happy with it, although I concede that maybe we were lucky to strike a good one. Easy to use, clean, makes great coffee. Tamper and frother not user friendly2 comments
Ours is still chugging along after almost 4 years. The milk frother drips water, but everything else is still good. Great buy.

OK, not bad coffee
I have had this coffee machine for about a year. It makes good coffee.
Two issues I have with it though: 1. The milk frother is effectively useless due to it being almost impossible to clean properly, it also hangs out in a weird place so you cannot support anything you're frothing in. Small issue, I know but I've stopped using the frother completely. 2) It is the noisiest machine in the world. It wakes up the whole house. It rattles and vibrates to the point that I have to hold it in three areas to minimise the noise!
With some practise great coffee, inexpensive, reliable
Very noisy, Milk frother could be designed better

Cleaning the steam spout is easy and simple. Remove both parts, wash under running water and replace, 20 seconds and done. Mine has never blocked. Yes it doesn't have a lot of movement, but there is a work-around. See my earlier post.

Good value for money spent
I have had this product for well over a year. It is still working as good as new with regular descaling. It makes a good coffee with finely ground beans. I find the double shot is really more of a single though, and it can be a bit rattley around the reservoir lid when operating. The steam wand works far better with the sharp nozzle only.
Simple to use, more economical than nespresso. Makes good milk foam (without the large attachment).
It makes rattling noises when operating.

ictive and the steam knob/tap seems to go to almost fully open with just a mall twist (although I do wind it fully open in use), it has always made great coffee. I found that by putting the milk jug under the spout, then sliding our benchtop spoon holder (ours is a cow) under it, it raises the jug to the right height to stop milk pouring over the top when fully frothed and I turn on the steam and leave it until the jug is a tad more than too hot to touch. If I stop when the jug just feels hot, then the final brew is only luke warm (but immediately scoffable). Another secret it is to make sure the coffee handle and filter cup are washed after every session AND both the steam spouts removed and washed also. This prevents dried grounds (in the handle filter) and dried milk (in the spout) from clogging. Occasionally I will also take the handle filter (the bit that holds the grounds) apart to clean it. It's too bad I can't remove the main boiler filter (the screw seems welded in place) because this filter is now blocked and the machine just squeezes water out through the various hose connections and all over the bench instead of out through the filter.
