Screwed again!

published

My Dux Radiant 250L, has begun leaking badly just over 5 years after installation. It's installed in a holiday home and has been quietly leaking like a sieve for quite sometime apparently, causing the heater to run continuously. So I now have the triple hit of a new HW service required plus larger water and electricity bills, not even sure for how long. It's only a couple of months out of warranty!!! Replacement cost including installation, over $4000. Thankyou very much. Yes Dux Sux. :(

Next update 5 September 2017. The new unit failed causing a $900 electricity bill. The failed part was replaced under warranty but I still had to pay for the electricity!!!!

Dux Airoheat Always Going Cold And Not Very Cost Effective

published

I have a 250 Ltr unit installed which has never performed. It consistently gets cold by the third shower and sometimes randomly for no reason. It seems also expensive to run even though it is touted as efficient. Annual running cost is in vicinity of $800 which for only 2 people doesn't seem to add up. Only response I have had from Dux is to get a technician look at it, but nothing found. I am now looking at other options as am over trying to solve. Dux will not be on my next shopping list.

Dux Products sucks

published

Within 7 years I have spent $960 for the repair of the water heater for a defective "Logic". The company refuses to comply with the competition and consumers guarantee. I cannot wait to get rid of that product which is of unacceptable quality and take them to court. I would not recommend this product to anyone who thinks that buying "local" is supporting our manufacturers.

I must now add a further comment that through some negotiating Dux has agreed to reimburse us the repair costs. however they are not anywhere close to being as efficient as they are made out to be

Ripped off. Poor quality and design

published

After just 2.5yrs in our brand new home our Dux hot water systems "hot logic" controller has partially died. The external fan motor gets hot but will not start. I have to manually "flick" the fan to get it to run otherwise no hot water. Surprise surprise. .... Dux tell me it's not covered under warranty. Replacement part will cost over $300.... & all that has failed is a capacitor worth a few $'s. Previous models had the capacitor mounted externally - cheap fix! Now I'm expected to pay premium $ to repair. I am getting quotes to replace the hot water system with other reliable brands. Sad to see a once quality company drop their game to this level.

5 ish years old and Leaking rusty water al over the garage from the top disappointing expensive piece of junk and by the looks of it we are not alone with that opinion now I have to spend a lot of time finding out with brand to get to replace it cause I don't think I want a dux again

never never buy dux

After having the unit replaced 4 times, again I have no hot water. I bought this Australian
product when they first came out for thousands of dollars and have had nothing but problems and shocking customer service since. All I want is a hot water device that will last more than a few years. Why is it with all this new technology nothing lasts like it used to. Australian manufacturers wonder why their businesses are going broke!!

Noisy

published

Recently had a leaking unit replaced under warranty. New unit had a faulty fan. Dux replaced the newly installed unit with another unit. Fan working in current unit however the hot water system is so noisy when heating. It can be heard from all rooms in the house. We were told by Dux this system is noisier than other hot water systems on the market. Not wrong. Find it hard to sleep at night as system is behind our bedroom window. Seems to be heating most of the day.

Is it normal for the unit to ice up during warmer weather? If so how long does the de-icing program run for. It has been going at least 12 hours now. The water being supplied from the unit is much hotter than normal.

Hi,
Do you have any instructions on how to replace the anodes in an D2FHG4HW0C?
I'm trying to determine if I need a plumber to do this or it's a DIY task.
Thanks.

Get onto your local Dux dealer, especially if you are still within their warranty period. They have an owner's manual which you should have got when it was installed. It will tell you more in that manual. If you didn't get one, ask Dux for a copy or download from their website. They now warranty their enamelled steel tanks for 10 years so it is reasonable to expect to get 10 years before any leaks. We had our first leak before 2 years and the replacement just over 5 years.

Do not bother - just go back to electric system

I have hydrotherm system also and it has been working a treat for almost 5 years.

My plumber totally advised against heat pumps but had not heard of hydrotherm which might be a good sign and I also have had fantastic experience with that brand.

Big NO to dux and rheem ! Problems from the very beginning!
