Thank you to Dux after product Failed
New home was built in 2014, with this system installed. Airoheat pump worked fine until tank sensor stopped working on just over 5 years usage and was unrepairable. We were told a new system was our only option, and quoted around $3800. As the unit had not been used for more than 6months due to us travelling, this was an unacceptable outcome. We applied under Duxs fair go policy to replace the unit. Thank you to Dux for providing a new Airoheat Pump and standing by your product. We are very happy with the outcome and would recommend your prompt after sales service. In our experience Dux listened and acted immediately on their customers behalf.

I cannot recommend this "Dux Airoheat Heat Pump "
I live in Harrington NSW. I replaced a 11 year old Quantum Heat Pump with the Dux Airoheat - heat pump on the 7/12/2016. The heat pump worked fine until the cooling fan started vibrate badly. I contacted the DUX agent in Taree. they sent out a service man to check the problem. The problem turned out that the fan blades had badly rusted . The cooling fan was replaced under "Warranty"30/05/2019. On the 17/10/2019 the heat pump failed to heat the water. Dux agent was contacted and sent out a service man. He found that the " refrigerant unit had fa...Read more
iled " on a phone call to Dux Australia he was informed that the unit was out of "warranty" and the customer would bear the cost of repairs. After less than 3 year of use I decided the cost of repairs was not worth it. I have replaced the Dux unit with a " Stellar Stainless steel Electric water heater" with a 12 year leakage Warranty. This is why I would not recommend the Dux Heater as reliable heater unit.Purchased in December 2021 for $2,600.00.

I wouldn't recommend a DUX
We had a DUX system installed when our house was built, so we personally did not choose the system. After living in our home for 13 months, the heater stopped working altogether (in the middle of winter!). We called for a plumber to fix it, and when he phoned DUX technicians, it was then noted that it was a design fault and DUX offered to replace the unit, although we had to pay for delivery and installation fees. And for some reason, they had our new unit delivered to a REECE store so we then had to somehow, work out how to get it delivered ...Read more
to our home. Why it wasn't delivered directly to our home, I still question this. So we got the new unit and it works however, it is loud when heating the water. I was sitting in my study room (9 metres away from the unit) and I heard this loud rumbling noise, and I went outside to see what it is and it was the unit - our original unit did not make this sound. Personally, I wouldn't recommend a DUX. If this was turns out inoperable (which we are expecting it to do so), we will simply fork out thousands for a whole different and better brand.Purchased in March 2021.

It makes heavy noises like metal hitting each other.
My neighbor has the same one installed a few years ago, recently it makes heavy noises day and night, my bedroom window is just next to it. I couldn't sleep when it runs.
I don't recommend DUX products.

Great at first, downhill from Year 6
Had this unit installed at my parents place back in 2009 to replace a previous Dux system that leaked and also had reached 12 years of service, we chose this model as it was a lower kW compared to others in hope to save some money on the power bill. The unit worked quite well for a few years until the 6th when issues began to arise. The pressure from the tank was quite weak, yet mains was strong, that was due to a faulty valve and to replace that was almost 2K in parts and labour which was a bit steep, could have replaced it instead. Even afte...Read more
r this service and a general service (not included in the 2k) and following the manuals minor maintenace, we would go up to 2 days without hot water due to the condenser failing to work at times which caused significant ice build up at the top of the unit, sometimes 3 to 4 inches thick which had to be removed manually to kickstart the unit to work (I am aware of the ice build up stated in the manual but should not be that thick) and now recently electrical faults have arised with it tripping the circuit breaker numerous times and an electician inspected the wiring and stated the fault is within the tank itself. As it endures its 10th year, it is being replaced with a different brand unit. Quite disappointed with Dux giving the cost of this unit and how many issues that have arised with it.Purchased in June 2021 for $3,100.00.

What an absolute lemon
Just under 2 years old and system died caused by a system defrost which leaked into the main control unit. Complete design fault but yet no warranty. What a joke

Don’t buy
Purchased this heat pump hot water system 2011 with our new home. No hot water under high demand. In 2014 the electronics failed then in 2016 the tank failed after rusting. New system fitted under warranty but had to pay labor. It failed now 6/2019 and now refused warranty even though the tank has 10 year warranty. Not acceptable from an Australian co. I even asked for 1/2 and 1/2 but no. Don’t buy.
Purchased in April 2021.

We have endured 2 of these pathetic heaters. First one started giving us rust after 4yrs then total tank failure at 5.5yrs.
Dux did replace under warranty and this second unit has lasted 2.5yrs.
I am currently dismantling this one to see what the hell is going on inside these tanks.
I am amazed that people don't research such an expensive item before purchasing!
Dux you should remove this item from the shelves!
Please watch the YouTube video and share as much as you can and we may save some poor soul from going through the same problem.
Purchased in February 2021 for $3,000.00.

Have to replace every 5 year!
I have had 4 Dux units since 2005. The common problem was water leaks from the top. Always breaks down just after warrantee has expired a a few months! My third one leaked just after 3 years and was replaced by a new one which started to leak after 4 years. Gave them a call today but they said that it is not covered under warranty cos they included the 3 years from the previous one. So don't buy Dux, they don't last long!!!!!

After two failures through leaking tanks - never again will we buy a Dux product
Everyone deserves a second chance but when the same thing happens again and the company doesn't back it's product, it is time to take action. I am interested in a class action. I stripped down the replacement unit and it appears to me that the leak has been present for a long time. It did not become apparent externally as Dux have gone to great pains to seal around the cylinder which stops the leak showing for months or maybe even years. I am going to get a professional engineer's opinion.

We'd appreciate if you could email your details including your name, contact number, address where the water heater is installed, model number and serial number of the product to [email protected]? In regards to what you are describing about the inner cylinder being encapsulated, this sounds like our foam insulation which reduces heat loss from the water heater. We do this to improve the efficiency of our product and to comply with MEPS (an industry standard which sets maximum heat loss values). We hope to hear back from you soon. Best Regards, The Dux TeamI responded to this post and received a telephone call with an offer. Unfortunately I have lost all confidence in the Dux product and am awaiting a satisfactory resolution which I believe for both parties would be much better than legal action.

DUX AIROHEAT.....DISGUSTING QUALITY......BUYER BEWARE
This was installed with our brand new home....CONNECTED TO RAIN WATER.....called in the plumber 5 years 2 months after purchasing....water was leaking at bottom......actually the plumber found the root cause at the top of the tank..... corrosion everywhere....corrosion from leak was months or even years old.....it needs replacing.....NEVER EVER A DUX .....

DO NOT BUY A DUX !!!!!
New house. Runs RAIN WATER. A piece of [Word Removed].
Failed after 2.5 years of install. We'd been using it for two years. Energy bills were huge, constantly running and in South Australia that is a big stress. We got to the point of turning off the system and using the water until we needed to heat it up again to save on bills.
Beware if your building a new home and they specify a Dux, ask for an upgrade and install your own. Not worth the ongoing cost or replacement in two years...even if it is a cheaper initial outlay.
We'll never buy a Dux and wouldn't recommend to anyone else.

Save the enviroment and your money. Don't buy it!
Nothing but trouble and expensive power bills due to it running almost constantly. The water got to lukewarm and in the end it gave up the ghost when out of it's short warranty period. No one could give us any idea of cost of repairs. Perhaps many hundreds or so? So we bought a new a standard element system running off peak. Power bill dropped considerably.
My daughter had similar problems with another brand of heat pump hot water service caused by frogs getting in to the works causing havoc to the demise of the frogs and the heat pump. Be very wary everyone!

Stay well away!!
stay away from this product!!!
Moved into my brand new house and within two weeks, the sensor in the actual water system is faulty and requires a completely new system.
Sure it's covered under warranty however, 5 days with no hot water! NOT happy is an understatement!!!
Called Dux to inform them how unacceptable having their device fail after 2 weeks installed... did they care you ask... hmmmm NO.
I wish I checked the reviews prior to buying it as I would have never have purchased it. After informing nearby neighbours and reading these reviews, it appears I'm not the only person having issues with their DUX hot water system!

complete and utter rubbish
WE installed d2fh00000c in 2010 the tank leaked 1 month before warranty ran out lucky for us unit was replaced for free by a d2fhg4hwoc which is now leaking from the top of the tank again (all my nice warm shower water running out onto the ground). This product is a piece of utter garbage and I don't know how any body could claim they are good for the environment when they only last a few years. The carbon footprint for producing these hideous units based on life span would be a Greenie's worst nightmare. It seems like an opportunistic company springing into existence just to take advantage of kevin Rudds rebate scheme.

Terrible Product. Terrible Service
Please don't go near this company. Absolutely awful from start to finish. Waste of money.
They're not interested in anything. This is just a heat pump that we use for having showers, which is hardly something that gets lots of wear and tear. It's a shockingly bad product. Avoid at all cost.

Great support
My controller failed almost exactly 2 years to the day I moved in to my new house. Understandably DUX has policies around proof of installation date, which unfortunately due to poor handover from the builder I could not provide. Even though the plumbing certificate showed the system being installed almost 1 month outside of the 2 year warranty period, DUX did the right thing and repaired the controller under full warranty very quickly. In my mind this is great customer service and based on this alone I would recommend the product.

Disgusting product Dux poor engineering designed to fail.
Dux Airoheat came recommended by our builder on the Sunshine Coast, two faults at 13 and 14 months were the fan stopped the compressor kept running, technician came replaced Hot Logic Board and fan, at 37 months fan stopped, unknown to us, the compressor failed, service repair agent told us with unit now out of warranty, we should replace with new normal Hot Water Service, we have taken the Dux to the rubbish tip.

One star because I can't select zero
Trying not to use expletives. Useless in cold weather, no savings for us whatsoever, fourth repair in five years today. Only their technicians can service. $629 today for a fan and another electrical component, then told might last another two years. The rebate is obviously built in to the initial ridiculous cost. Appalling System And Customer Service
Absolutely disgusted. My system is only three years old and now won't turn on. Called Dux and without even looking at the machine they already know the problem and say it won't be covered. Contact person was rude and did not provide a solution. They are using people's need for hot water to blackmail you into fixing a machine at your own expense with the hope you won't follow up with fair trading. I certainly will be.

ould have put me $450 out of pocket if it hadn't been repaired by Dux. While this is a positive result and I am pleased Dux came around, I shouldn't have had to go around in circles all day and put up with people telling me there was no possible way anything could be done just to ensure my own consumer rights weren't violated. The end result is a good reflection on Dux, however if I hadn't pushed the point and ended up $450 out of pocket 3 years after installing a $3000 system I can't say I would have been so happy. Thank you Dux for providing the service but perhaps in future making similar service available to everyone would avoid such a terrible rating on here. I've edited my review from 1 star to 3 as a result of this resolution as the machine had operated faultlessly otherwise (although quite noisy).Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Hi,
Do you have any instructions on how to replace the anodes in an D2FHG4HW0C?
I'm trying to determine if I need a plumber to do this or it's a DIY task.
Thanks.

Get onto your local Dux dealer, especially if you are still within their warranty period. They have an owner's manual which you should have got when it was installed. It will tell you more in that manual. If you didn't get one, ask Dux for a copy or download from their website. They now warranty their enamelled steel tanks for 10 years so it is reasonable to expect to get 10 years before any leaks. We had our first leak before 2 years and the replacement just over 5 years.
Do not bother - just go back to electric system
I have hydrotherm system also and it has been working a treat for almost 5 years.
My plumber totally advised against heat pumps but had not heard of hydrotherm which might be a good sign and I also have had fantastic experience with that brand.
Big NO to dux and rheem ! Problems from the very beginning!
