Up in a puff of smoke
Considering this model is nearly 10 years old I'm not surprised is discontinued.
I'm not likely to buy another Dyson because it didn't do any better than any other vacuum that I have owned. The price is outlandish & over priced and no good for pet hair, better off getting an upright if you want to get rid of pet hair, otherwise you will be forever stopping and picking the hair out of the brush head. Yes my motor just blow up and the HEPA Filter was disintegrated

Thanks but it is 10 years old after all. Ive since replaced it but appreciate your response.

Good vacuum cleaner. Overly priced though.
Good suction. Cleans quickly but very difficult to manage. I inherited it, so I cant complain about the price!
Gave it a good service, cleaned filters etc. It has difficulty with cat hair that my $99 Kmart battery stick vacuum picks up first go. Admittedly the Kmart Vacc has a turbo head.
Lately the wheels on the Dyson have began to jam. Its very hard to pull along at the best of times, now it would rather capsize than follow me. I cant see how to repair this. It looks like the wheels are secured by a one-way clip, and if I force the wheels off...Read more
it will break. The head is very difficult to change from hard floor to carpet. The symbols suggest you can use your foot - no way. I have to pick it up and use both hands to change it. The cord winder is very sluggish and mostly I have to help it by pushing the cord in. But worst is the bagless design! Dont take it out to the bin and expect to empty it without a dust storm! Besides, who wants "raw" dust in a bin? Imagine the mess when the garbage blokes empty it. So most people tip the dust into a PLASTIC bag - to go to landfill! Is it better than the Sanyo "Myte-Hunter" it replaced? No. That is still going strong as my garage vac. And emptying the dirt is a doddle! ( It uses a bag... And being paper they degrade easily in landfill).

Vaccum
This is awesome vaccum. I use this for my carpet. My husband who has asthma loves this vaccum. I also use this in the floor tiles and it works really good. No issues with tipping over.

Practical, powerful vacuum cleaner.
I have had this for a few years now and I use it on both hard floors and carpets as well as cleaning my car and find this easy to use and has, plenty of power. The attachments are useful for hard to reach areas and does not require much in maintenance except to clean the filter once every few months. The only downside to this compared to my last dyson was the, connection to hold the hose isn't as user friendly.
Purchased in March 2021 at Harvey Norman for $300.00.

Don't buy! Trap hazard!
Multiple times when I've used this it's resulted in injury, the plastic build quality is so poor it can easily trap skin on your palm. Third time I've literally split blood over this vacuum.
Purchased in March 2021 for $150.00.

It irks very well
We picked up a full barrel just after I used my old vacuum. People that say it looses power they must have something caught in the pipe. We wash filter and there is no smell. I presume people vacuum stuff they shouldn’t and then say it smells. This is a good vacuum and easy to move around. After 10 years it still retracts cord the whole way. The tool storage on the stick is strong.
Purchased in March 2021 at Harvey Norman for $500.00.

Very good in general, but not I will prefer cordless in the further.
Firstly I have to say the performance and suction of Dyson is unbeatable. I stop sweap my floor, it only take 10 mins to clean the floor with Dyson. But it is not so quite, and always lots of dust hiding inside the dust cabin even after I tip out the dust. And I would look like if it is wireless, so I do not have to change switch several times during one cleaning.

Dyson's are a wonderful vacuum cleaner.
I have been very happy with this Dyson for about 10 years - easy to clean & has great suction - will be buying another Dyson.
It was very light to carry and maneuver.
The variety of heads that came with the machine were great for vacuuming the car - getting into narrow spaces along sliding doors.
The removable dust barrel was easy to wash clean and far better than having a bag.
The adjustable head for carpet, tiles or timber floors was fabulous.

The T34 Tank of the vacuum world.
Its a good machine BUT I agree whole heartedly with a previous review about the horrible smell it puts out after a few years use even though I change the filters each year. Its like a tank to pull around BUT makes up for that in reliability. Why do I have to Write more than fifty words ?????

Dyson dc 29 was alright.
Wow I was extremely excited to buy this vacuum cleaner my first ever Dyson. Back in 2013..... this was extremely heavy to pull around and then in 2014 /15 I blew up in flames..... so I went to Miele tried Miele then back to Dyson..... I do love my Dyson but this model seriously is extremely heavy to pull around. And stinky after a while

Perfect machine, can't fault it.
This was one of the biggest investment we made for a vacuum cleaner. But it's one of the most usable and long lasting machine we ever had. Although it's pricey, but it's worth every dollar. The machine were so good, we had it for almost 10 yrs. We now bought another Dyson though (newer model).
I would recommended it for anyone looking for a great vacuum cleaner, this brand is reliable and strong. The suction is strong and clean everything. They come with good backup warranty & customer service as well. You won't regret it.

Overrated product
I bought this product because of other people review. We are quite disappointed after start using it. It's overrated. The suction power is just similar to other vacuum brands but this is few hundreds dollars more expensive. I would not purchase this vacuum again unless this offers a huge discount where I can't resist.

Dyson best vacuum ever
Dyson vacuum is the very best vacuum I have ever owned.
Had top of the market to bottom of the market but after owning a Dyson I wouldn't ever buy anything else. I use it on tile & wood floor. its brilliant.
when the motor died we just ordered a new one from New Zealand, fitted new motor, good as new.

Sucks well but long term use not good
The suction is really good but it gets blocked frequently enough at the point between the head and the pipe then makes a super loud revving sound. I wasted $100+ on a new head to realise it doesn't help the problem. Still works after all these years but would go for a different make next time.

Started out great then not so much
We have the dyson DC29 and when i first used it I was very impressed. Over the course of 3 years it has become less than impressive. It lost power (although they say they don't), the floor attachment is difficult to use at best, the plastic tube and hand piece are flimsy, the wheel are noisy. If I had the choice again I wouldn't buy a Dyson. I have a cheap shop vac that work 100% better which is a real shame.
Just as some additional information yes all filters have been cleaned and/or replaced and it makes no difference. Very disappointing in this one as dyson do make some decent products.

Going Strong For 12 Years!!
This cleaner has been helping us clean 3 family homes. Best suction by far of ANY cleaner I've tried previously or since. If there has ever been a problem, the call centre have been marvellous.
The best thing about Dyson,is that you are dealing with them, the manufacturer. Consequently, you don't get "gouged"on the cost of spare parts....and so simple to fix. All in all,I'm wrapped in Dyson and also bought 2 stick cleaners for our children in their homes.
The only minus I should mention is, it does tend to be quite cumbersome for my wife to handle. She does love the Dyson stick vacuum to maneuver.

7 years and still going
Iv had my dyson vacuum for 7 years and it still works brilliantly, moves easily, has good suction, little bit squeely in noise but i think in comparison to other brands of vacuums its lasted alot longer and well worth money spent. I would like to get the hand held cordless vacuum for pets, if my dyson eventually dies.

Can understand why it is discontinued!
It's very cumbersome and the attachments are useless.Skirting/edge attachment sucks the bristles into the pipe so it's suction is inadequate.Dyson apparently has a very good reputation. Not so this model, I wish I hadn't purchased it! I have since purchased a Target vacuum cleaner at a fifth of the price that is 200% better than the Dyson.I would not buy Dyson products again and encourage prospective purchasers to look carefully before buying.Very, very disappointing.

Had big shoes to fill
When our trusty stand-up Dyson of over 10 years wasn't doing the job as well as it used to I was very scared to replace it. But when a secondhand barrel design was advertised cheap thought why not .. and I am glad I did because it is great I can go into so many more places than the stand up and it is so resistant to being dragged and bashed around I just love it. Only thing is it a bit heavy special or for when I am doing the car. Otherwise a gem.
