Good suction on carpet but not ergonomically designed

    published

I can only compare it to my old vacuum the Electrolux Ultra Silencer. The Dyson is better for suction and the power turbine head is great for picking up hair on rugs and carpet but the Dyson is not as good in all other areas. I find the handle very uncomfortable. It is wide and the joins (not in one piece) seem to irritate my hand. The cord is shorter thus I have to change power points. It is not as manoeuvrable as the Electrolux. I think it is scratching my wooden floors thus I need to buy a hard floor attachment. As if it wasn't expensive enough ! It should come as a standard attachment.
    Suction, power turbine head
Handle uncomfortable, manoeuvrability not so good, need to buy hard floor attachment

I was just about to purchase one of Dyson's products, but I am now unsure. Plus all the advice given by these Dyson official's don't appear to be all that help full??

    Thanks Keith.

Just bought this vacuum, but am disappointed with the cleaning ability – the floor doesn’t seem clean afterwards. I suspect that the “turbo head” uses up too much of the suction power to suck up dirt effectively. However, the main problem I have is that while it’s supposed to have a HEPA filter, it generates noticeable airborne dust while in use, and there’s no way I’d want an allergy sufferer anywhere near that.

For the price, I expected much better.
Better than the $50 vacuum it replaced. Looks nice.
Price; doesn’t clean very well; creates airborne dust

    Best on the market

The Dyson DC39 Allergy is the best vacuum cleaner I've ever used. It picks up every bit or dirt and specks of dust, I was shocked by how much dirt is collected. Also helps greatly with prevention of my daughter's hay fever so would highly recommend for anyone who has a family member with asthma or hay fever.
    Fantastic results
    Expensive but well worth it

    Latest model - big disappointment!

    published

I heard about this model being lighter on its feet and so on and that's true but performance has dropped in line with the wattage which has dropped 100watts!! If you have the previous model and want CLEAN - stick to the old model!!! If you want average clean and a lighter machine then this is the one for you. I'm very disappointed as I bought my first Dyson for the cleaning power....
    Light and very manoeuvrable
    Very average cleaning power

Its either a Dyson or it isnt!

Absolutely worth the money, if you dont have to empty the bag at least twice in the first room you do ill be surprised. This model comes with the turbo head which for carpet you must have, it also features the mattress tool which is similar to the stair tool only smaller. The ball technoloy is cetainly interesting and seems to do what it advertises, in short i love the dyson and will never change back to another brand.
    Does everything it advertises

I've only just bought this product yesterday but I absolutely love it! The amount that came off our rug was incredible, and also amount that came off our floor boards! we have 3 cats and there was always hair covering everything that other vacuum cleaners just couldn't suck up.It's a bit heavy to use, but only because of the suction power..so I don't mind. I recommend this product and am very happy with my purchase :)
great suction power, easy to empty
bit heavy to use but only because suction is so strong

My turbo head has stopped spinning and therefore impacts upon suction. I have just had the handle replaced (second time :-() and it only stopped once I began using the new handle. Any ideas?

I can't really say what the issue would be without looking at it. Is it the same model handle you previously had and does the button you push to stop the head spinning return when you push it again. The head works on air vacuum. Does the vacuum work with the turbo head removed, if so it may be the turbo head itself. I have found that playing with / resetting the push button a couple of times on the handle can get it to work when it stops spinning.

    Hi there,

Thank you for your question. It is very hard to say why exactly this would be happening with the new handle. We would recommend to email us your details at [email protected] so we can best assist you.

I am thinking about getting the Allergy machine. However I see people saying that the muscle head is better than the trigger head for hard floors - mine are mainly polished wood. Can you please tell me if the Allergy machine has a muscle head?

When I bought my Allergy machine it came with the turbo head, so you are better off going down a level to get the muscle head. I may be wrong but the only difference I saw was that the Allergy machine came with a mattress cleaning attachment (a bit bigger than the upholstery attachment which was also provided). If you really want the mattress attachment, you can buy it separately. I hope that helps Danni. I find the muscle head much easier to push around than using the turbo head. Better on the wooden floors too. Regards, Shamira

What the different between the oldest model DC29 ALLERGY and DC39 ALLERGY?

    Hi there,

There are a few differences between these machines. The DC29 range uses Radix Cyclone technology for no loss of suction. The DC39 uses our new Radial Cyclone technology to seperate more dust and dirt from the air while maintaining suction power.

The DC39 range also uses our Ball technology, making them easier to handle and more stable.

If we can be of further assistance please email [email protected] and we will be in touch.

    Best wishes,

    Shan
