I have the V6 absolute. It's been a recurring problem but I only get about a minute of vacuuming before I get either the amber light (which stays on for a few seconds before becoming flashing blue) or flashing blue light. A couple seconds on the charger and it goes back to working for a minute or so.
If I use the power mode I don't even get 10 seconds before it dies. I have tried doing some full charge cycles but that does not seem to affect anything. I noticed this became a probelm after cleaning the filters (as instructed by dyson- and I let dry for over 24 hours).
Would this be a battery problem or soemthing else?

Hi
I've had my V6 absolute dyson for 2 half years uning it 5 dyas a week but not for very long, Just the last few weeks it only lasts for a couple of minutes and then shuts off. I have pulled it apart to clean and was wondering if it is the battery or the charger?
1 answer
Dyson Team ..Dyson
If your Dyson V6 is working well otherwise (i.e. picking up dust and debris well and not making any unusual noises) and the charger lights up when the machine is plugged in, it would indicate the battery on the machine would likely need to be replaced. You can purchase a replacement battery for the Dyson V6 here: https://shop.dyson.com.au/spare-parts/battery-967810-21
If this isn't the case, the machine is under two years old, or you have any further queries, our Dyson Experts are available via [email protected] and we will be happy to help.

Hi my dyson is not working and flashing red light 32 times. What does that mean?
1 answer
Dyson Team ..Dyson
If the red light on your machine is flashing, this indicates the battery of your machine needs to be replaced.
New batteries can be ordered online via this link: https://shop.dyson.com.au/spare-parts/battery-967810-21
That being said, if your machine is under the Dyson 2 year Guarantee, or you have any queries, our Dyson Experts are available via [email protected] and happy to help.

It just displays a amber light when you pull the trigger ?
1 answer
Dyson Team ..Dyson
An amber light usually means the machine is too hot or too cold to run. We would recommend leaving the machine in a room between 3 degrees celcius and 40 degrees celcius for half an hour before retrying or charging the machine.
If we can assist further, our Dyson Experts are available via [email protected] and happy to help.

The felt strip on the motor head is peeling off. We tried hot glue to reattach, but it only lasted a day or so. What do you recommend to reattach it?
Used regularly for three years now, very pleased. Thank you

We would kindly ask you to forward your query, a photo of the effected part, along with the machine serial number and your details to [email protected] and our Dyson Experts will be be happy to assist.

My V6 Animal hand stick has all of a sudden died when i plug the motorised head in.
It will work perfect with no attachments.
I bought a replacement motorised head as I thought it may be the head that was broken.
The brand new head wont work. When the head is plugged in and I try turning it on it will flash a green light once that is it.
Vacuum seems to be charging as normal, can still work with other NON motorised attachments.
Vacuum has been full pulled a part and clean thoroughly. Still wont work.
Any ideas, i do not want to be wasting money on more parts that arent the problem?

I know it's not exactly the same question, however the first steps are often the same. Please follow those suggestions before purchasing anything else. It sound like it could be a battery issue as well. The motorised heads will be the first attachments to stop functioning with battery related issues.
Please let me know how you go,
Happy Consumering

My vacuum bought in August 2015 only works for a few minutes before going flat. Do I need to buy a replacement battery?? I expected it to last several more years. The vacuum filters are washed regularly.

After 3 years use, it could be the battery. Perhaps Dyson should give an indication off how long the battery is expected to last. Of course it would depend on frequency of use.

After l have fully charged my cordless dyson and start hoovering it stops working after a couple of minutes and the blue charge light flashes why is that?
1 answer
Dyson Team ..Dyson
Hi Maria,
Thank you for your query.
To confirm, your V6 should achieve a run time of 6 minutes, or on normal mode, a run time of 16-17 minutes with a motorised floor tool attached, or 20 minutes without.
Standard out of the box, your machine will be on Max mode. To change to normal mode for the longer run time, while the machine is running with your finger on the trigger, press and release the "Max" button on the back of the machine. The "Max" button light will turn off and you will hear the machine change tone to indicate it is now running in normal mode.
If it isn't achieving these run times, please email our Dyson Experts via [email protected] and we will be more than happy to assist.

Hi, i own a Dyson V6 Absolute, all of a sudden i'm not getting power to the brush. When i attach the brush directly to the head it works fine, when i attach it to the wand, nothing. It was fine yesterday, I get that something must've happened in the wand, but is there a fix?
1 answer
Dyson Team ..Dyson
Hi Charlie,
Thank you for your query.
Sorry to hear about this. If the motorised heads work when connected directly to the front of the machine, but not to the wand, this indicates a fault within the wand itself.
So we can best assist, we would kindly ask you to email [email protected] with your details and our Dyson Experts will be happy to help get this sorted.
We look forward to hearing from you and assisting.
Best wishes,
