Asians are buying up in bulk and selling cleaning items plus other things on eBay at huge prices. I.E Glen 20 can bwt 30-86 a can. This should be stopped by eBay, but they just want the fees so are letting this happen. So disgusting I am lost for words.

Been good for years
I’ve used eBay many times over the years and have generally had a good experience. I’ve had a couple of small low value items arrive that have not been as described, but on raising a dispute through eBay they have me an instant refund without having to return the item.

No responsibility, no action on dodgy sellers
Oh the number of times I got scammed because let us be candid, sellers BUY reviews now with bribery. And each and every time, eBay says 'oh yes, there are consequences for these sellers' and yet weeks, months later those same dodgy sellers are still trading as normal. eBay would be a great and safe place to shop if only they did actually hold the bad ones accountable. Instead, they just simper and promise consequences where there are none because what matters to eBay, in the end, is them getting their fee cuts.

Poor conduct on behalf of eBay by encouraging the sale of hand sanitiser and toilet paper
Despite the global panic and shortage that hits the vulnerable first, eBay is contributing and profiteering from this unfair price gouging. Hand sanitiser and other items are sold at x10 the price. They claimed that they had stopped new listings of these products, but hey just look at the screenshot.

Allowing people to sell toilet paper in Australia during these strange times is disgusting
Those of us that live in Sydney, Australia right now has seen and experienced first hand the insanity that is our current toilet paper famine. It sounds absurd but it is a reality and this tissue is of importance to all. But you’ve got these fool hoarders who have decided to sell a pack of toilet rolls on EBay and the ridiculous and offensive part of it is that the EBay platform has allowed the vermin to capitalise on it, whilst others truly suffer to source “dunny paper”
Well done EBay, you are useless and to the sellers of toilet paper,I hope your homes flood and your toilet paper stash is destroyed

Seller friendly not buyer
Dont use ebay. Seller friendly not buyer. Even seller send purchase lately there is not much buyer can do. Use amazone. Ebay failed manage btw seller and buyer. If they closed case there is not much buyer can do. And they dont even explain about their decision. If they say I wasnt wrong you are not allowed refund or something. That's is all. You can easily lose your money.

Sellers can have genuine negative reviews deleted by Ebay
Bought item from Ebay over a week ago but the item never arrived. I left honest 1 star experience rating because it never arrived. Seller was able to get eBay to delete it because she has a 'good rating'. Wasn't able to complain either or repost. Im sure most people would say not receiving your order is a terrible experience. Ebay is fraudulent!!

Satisfied customer since 2003
EBay is my go to spot for all my online shopping. I love the ability to search for something locally or from overseas. The rating system for sellers is accurate and a good incentive for sellers not to be dodgy. If I ever run into a problem eBay's got my back, especially if you use PayPal to pay. I recently signed up to be an eBay plus member and it is well worth the money in postage savings and exclusive discounts. EBay even has a phone number where you can call and speak to a real person if you have to. I've used eBay as a seller and had my own personal online garage sale. They even take care of the postage costs where you just print a label and they charge your Paypal account. It really doesn't get any easier than that.

Ebay and seller in CAHOOTS! THIEVES. Would not refund on item not received!
Paid for an item about 3 weeks ago- Hohem stabiliser. Emailed the seller (Maexus) many times to cancel the order but NO response. Opened case with Ebay to request refund for non delivery of item. Then only did seller replied. Said item was delivered. Never arrived. Asked for proof of delivery from Ebay and my case was dismissed by some imbecile in customer service. I appealed the decision and again it was dismissed by the same imbecile. They just fobbed me off. Couldn't care less! Ebay and seller are in cahoots and defrauded me of $110! What hap...Read more
pened to buyer protection? Not worth the toilet paper it's written on. Ebay and seller are THIEVES. I recommend other sellers like Alibaba, Aliexpress, Banggood, Tomtop, Cesdeals, Wish, Catch of the Day to name a few. You can buy everything and cheaper from these sellers. Do not buy from EBAY. You will be dudded. I will contact Fair Trading as I have rights under Australian Consumer Law. Buyers if you have been ripped off contact Fair Trading.Similar opinion? eBay 10% final sale commission rip off
eBay was great at the beginning because there was no competitors and we did not care much of their final sale commission of 10% but it has been two decades and there is so many other advertising platforms now but eBay still charges 10%, eBay free insertion fee means nothing.

I got a statement from eBay and i was shocked to find they were charging me for items and postage for things i withdrew from the site. I have given up trying to contact them and point out their mistake, they dont care and just keep sending me threatening emails, if i dont pay i will be suspended, so suspend me i dont care. You used to be very good, but now your just greedy like all the rest and dont care about people who once trusted you.

eBay unhelpful and untrustworthy
I paid for some masks and didn’t receive them. I subsequently contacted the seller stating I’ve received advice that masks were delivered to my premises but I haven’t received any delivery.
The seller was unwilling to chase up Australia post and requested that I do it and ask for a refund on the product. I stated to the seller that contract regarding for the freight is between himself and Australia post and it was his responsibility for resolve this matter. I also stated that I do not wish to be reimbursed but want replacement .

Good on buyer protection but Lots of dodgy sellers
Ebay is a good platform I think compared to other online stores, except Amazon. I only rate Amazon better due to their rating system on products every seller sells. In contrast, in ebay most items have no review or rating, therefore lot of them are very poor quality. Lot of sellers are dodgy here as well, saying the items are locally shipped whereas actually from overseas and most sellers are from China based.
Ebay provides option to pay through Paypal and other systems which is better compared to Amazon. I had no issues with items and customer services from Ebay. In fact, the customer service is very good once you raise it properly.

Disgraceful customer service
Once again I get burnt by eBay so it’s about time I take my own advice and boot using the site. There are some great sellers but unfortunately there seem to be more cheats these days and eBay is not weening them out instead they let them and watch while they scam and shill bid etc...
Customer service are off with the pixies!! They do not know how to speak to people with respect. One does not need to curse to have a pompous ass attitude and that’s how they treat you when you have a legitimate complaint and are right in your argument.

Biased marketplace managed by Inefficient people. Rob both buyers and sellers money through all possible ways.
To the buyers and sellers...avoid them and promote local marketplaces. Most of the people who work there dont even know what they are talking about. Complete waste of time and money.

There are better places to buy and sell.
In my experience (member 17 years), trying to contact eBay is like butting your head against a brick wall. It removed my right to give a seller (positive) feedback for no reason I could fathom. The item was bought mid Feb. 2020 and received ten days later. Alarming the arbitrary control this foreign organisation exercises - over buyers in particular.

Why does E-bay mark items as being delivered when tracking clearly shows the items being in another town?
3 answers
Why does E-Bay show items as being AUSTRALIAN STOCK when they come from China.
It's not eBay that marks it Delivered, it's the courier. eBay just shows you what online tracking says.
@ Len1010,
Tax avoidance scam to save the 10% GST which applies to products sent from overseas, eg. from China as well as taking advantage of low postage charges. If you take a look at Aus Post domestic charges you quickly realize that expecting to buy an item for under 10 bucks locally with free delivery include is not realistic.
With most Chinese made products Aust based sellers either buy in bulk from Alibaba and try to compete with Chinese based sellers or for low volume items they order from AliExpress and item is shipped directly to you.
May as well cut out the middleman and order directly from China. ;-)
