They steal your money and offer a "good will" voucher instead

They did not resolve my problem and they've made me wait for one month and a half for an answer from (once I've received an answer back from Hertz 3 weeks ago). ved to the airport, I agreed on return on the next day to make the pick up first time in the morning, I went there and there was no system available to make the pick up, I've waited for more than one hour and the attendant told me that he could cancel my pick up with no charges once there were just a few hours until the end of my rental (that was booked for only one day) and they failed to deliver the car for me. So I want my money back in a full refund of 38.16GBP, once I've also contacted Hertz, they had a good comprehension about my case and they informed me (3 weeks ago) that they've made a full refund to Economy Bookings, so this isn't an act of good will, you guys are taking my money and at the same time offering a smaller value of 30GBP in a voucher to spend again with you and have more headaches in the future. Please don’t use this company
My god I wish I read the reviews before I booked my rental car through Economy Booking which also comes under Booking Group. You won’t get your money back when you cancel or it will takes months if your lucky. There just a middle person using cheap deals to lure you in. They couldn’t provide the car I agreed on, so I cancelled and they told me a refund will be 21 days. It’s over 2 months now

It's the first time I'm writing a negative review. But the story is worth sharing so you don't fall in the same trap I fell into.
I was going to NZ for the birthday of my partner in November 2022. We booked a car through Economybookings.com, and received the confirmation email. car for us in Auckland. Their call, not ours. So the shuttle of Bargain Rental Car do not dare pick us up, we have to get a uber on our own to head to their office in Christchurch. They offered us a replacement rental, a car from 2008 with 135,000+ km on the odometer. Clearly not we booked. We had to complain for at least 20 min to obtain a refund, but not the pre-booking ("you have to deal with econonybookings.com for that). Good luck, they never responded to any of my emails. So we had to take a second uber to get another rental, more expensive as on the spot. Naively, we booked again the second rental with Economybookings.com. What a fool I am! Second experience, this time with Goldcar in Christchurch. You have to take the insurance policy with them (around NZD 30 per day) otherwise they block NZD 2,500 on your credit card. And they don't accept driving license that were issued in the past year. Good luck for Aussies who have to renew their card every 5 years! It means you can't book a car if you're in the first year of your new card. And of course, we couldn't use my partner's license, as they can't change the name of the driver. The option is then to add my partner as an additional driver, extra fees $$$$$$$$$$. Anyway, after negotiating with the owner, we manage to finally have a car. In the end, we've spent 3 hours between getting out of the airport and having a rental car, and bleeding extra unexpected cash. Never again, don't book with them! They are a sham, a scam, they don't respond to the complaint emails. It's worth paying a bit extra at the start with another more reliable rental car company than those scammers!Similar opinion? Unconscionable business practices
There are very few times I get motivated to publicly criticize a business however in this case its warranted.
Economy bookings are a sham.
Masquerading as other car hire companies & redirecting to their website, taking deposits & confirming bookings that are fictitious.
Sham or scam is flattering them.
They do not respond to emails & have no legitimate local contacts.
They should not be permitted to represent other companies as their booking agents.

Not what I paid for
Booked a 'Nissan Teana or similar' which is a mid size car. The photo showed it was a 2013 onwards model. Upon arrival I was given the keys to a 16 year old Nissan Bluebird instead, which is a small car. After complaining I was 'upgraded' to a 2010 Toyota Corolla sedan, also a small car. No other cars were available. Sent an email to Economy Bookings asking how what I booked and what I received can be so different. Received some half assed reply a week later.
Customer service is dead.

Would not recommend, never again
Double booked, Immediately contacted company for refund, wouldn’t respond, charged us full rate for two rentals. A definite lack of customer service. Would not recommend. Never again.
Customer service nil, no response.

CRIMINALS
I booked a car though EconomyBookings.com to pick up in Vevey, Switzerland. I received a booking confirmation however the details said pick up from Avis at Nestle Offices (food and beverage company). I went to pick up the car and Avis said that this service is for Nestle employees only and that they cancelled my booking with EconomyBookings and I needed to go back to EconomyBookings and obtain a refund. The person I called refused to help. The email account that I was referred to, to obtain a refund will not respond. It has been weeks and they have taken over 200 euros and no responsibility. It is a blatant SCAM.

Worst rental car company I’ve had!!
They are thieves. Because they have the worst phone service (they have phone number but nobody is answering) I couldn’t move my booking for few hours later or cancel it and now after almost 2 months asking about, you don’t want to refund my money. Theydon’t deserve to have a licence to rent anything, because they are not responsible to help their costumers. The only thing they want is to take the money and after disappear. :-(

Do not use!
I made a booking through Economy Bookings (not to be confused with Economy Car Rentals) for pick up at Auckland Airport. You would think a car rental would be open 24/7 at an international airport but this one closed at 6pm. But they didn't tell you that until you had paid a deposit. Nor did they tell you that the rental (Snap Rental) is not even located at the airport and that you have to take a shuttle bus there. Double Charge, unresponsive!
I booked two cars in New Zealand with them, they are not linked with the car rental agent. So they charge you for the deposit upon booking whilst car rental is not aware of that and you have to pay the whole amount to car rental before booking, that's sucks and is ripping off the customers to make more money.

There are European company with different working hours as they mentioned in their website, I was lucky did not get protection from them for the first car, I bought it directly from the car rental however for the second car in Auckland, car rental pre-authorized $2,600 in my credit card and told me if any accident happens right of the bat they take $2600 and then give me the documents to send it the third party. I am pretty sure it was very unlikely they even answer if there was any incident in this regard. Horrible Customer Service
We booked 2 vehicles with Discount Car through EconomyBookings. We paid extra to get 1 van and 1 SUV, the van which they weren't able to provide so instead they had provided 2 SUVs. The car rental company noted they were unable to adjust the pricing for this as it was booked through EconomyBookings and I had to deal with them.

I have booked cars in Australia and New Zealand through Economy bookings several times and have no problems with changing bookings when needed and have had some lovely upgrades.

Charge me nothing!!!
I charged for nothing on the pre-payment fees as I thought it was gonna deducted from the car rental office ( I was using ace car rental ). The ace does not know anything about the payment that I had given and me and the staffs were so shock on this case. Worse no ever.
Worse booking company and please do not use it if you do not want to get any charges or payment from it.
It is a fraud!!
Just book directly from the company if you want a car!

AVOID!!! at all cost
This company is just a broker and have no care what so ever as to what unscrupulous company they are booking you with and just brush their hands of any issues you have/had.
Our paperwork told us we would be met in the airport foyet by the rental company but after waiting and searching, no one showed, we enquired at the airport desk, who told us the rental company had an office across the main road outside, so we struggled across with all our suitcases to find no one in the office either.

Shocking
We made a pre-payment for a Europcar rental assuming that would be deducted when we pick up from Europcar. Turns out Europcar knows nothing about it and despite multiple phone calls to EconomyBookings which were never answered and many emails (also never answered) we still have not got our pre-payment back. There is no customer service and I feel like this was a deliberate rip-off.
NEVER EVER USE THIS COMPANY OR OTHER THIRD PARTY RENTAL OUTFIT. The real car rental companies disclaim what it is they do

Awful service
We accidentally booked the hire car for the day after we were supposed to. We were unable to amend details on the site and tried calling several times where we got put on hold several times but each time after ten minutes the phone would hang up.
We needed the car desperately that day so we had to book another one entirely. We emailed explaining our situation and got an email back saying they would not refund.
Very upset and definitely would not recommend this company.

Charged for additional insurance after accidentally clicking on email link. Refunded eventually. Otherwise good.
Clicked on the Full Cover option in the email to find out more details and they immediately charged my credit card $160! Refund obtained after 2 or 3 weeks. Car was ok, as expected.

No car and no refund even after the rental company refunded them
I rented AND PAID EconomyBookings.com for a car rented from Hertz. When I went to collect the car, Hertz did not give me the car because my licence was a temporary licence (card was coming in the mail). I was too tired to fight and I hate conflict. Hertz said they would refund EconomyBookings within 10 days.

EconomyBookings.com took my money, received a refund from Hertz and refused to return my money. Its fraud! I would be understanding if they said that I had to pay an admin fee but to take my money and get a refund from Hertz and simply keep the entire rental money is dishonest. Don't use them! Look at the other reviews, over 60% of the people have had a bad experience with this company. Excellent!!! Excellent!!!
We used Sixt through EconomyBookings and knew exactly where the desk was as we used Sixt last year. The receptionist was the same person as last year and he was fantastic. The whole process of booking was great and the check in procedure went without a hitch the drop off even easier although if we hadn't done it previously at first it can be daunting.

Convenient and very economical
I had already rented a car along with Our airline tickets through KAYAK. But I canceled that rental and booked with you saving an additional 64 eur for a one-week rental and upgraded from a little economy car to an SUV.
