My son and girlfriend left stranded in Phuket by Emirates.
My son and girlfriend left stranded in Phuket by Emirates.
They were on a 2 week holiday.
Emirates flew them out there on14th March then sent a text on 22nd informing them their flight home on 28 March was cancelled.
No advice on how they could contact them or alternative flight options home.
Emirates did not answer phone calls,e mails nothing. Just left stranded.
I had to Pay 2000 for Ethiad flight to get them home. They had to fly to Bangkok first, stay in a hotel overnight then catch the Ethiad flight.
To date Emirates have only sent an automated response re claim for refund.
Never again will we book with Emirates.

Found a way to get a refund
I managed to get a refund by requesting my credit card provider to do a chargeback and 48 hours later I received a refund much quicker than the 6 weeks trying with Emirates

Don’t fly with Emirates
You would know how the airline performs during hard times. So here we go with Emirates. I booked my ticket well before COVID for July 2020 and my second trip after Emirates is with S7. While S7 gave me a voucher for 2 years because clearly not many are happy to fly in July 2020, Emirates keep saying that my flight in July has not been cancelled. So, fly with COVID people around you and then don’t fly with S7 because you can’t - is this your logic Emirates? So, are you saying that I’m not entitled to get a voucher for at least a year? I used to fly with you many times, never again.

Absolute Robery!
Shame on you Emirates for the way you are handling the COVID-19 situation. It's an absolute disgrace that you are not giving people their money back when you cancel flights.
I was given 3 options:
1. re-book on the spot - how do you expect to know when I'm travelling next? no one knows what is happening in the world
2. credit - with absolutely ridiculous T&C - has to be same destination etc. so another absolute robbery
3. refund - Lose %70 of your ticket price between the airline and the agent.
Shame on you been traveling with you for over 10 years! Etihad has done better!

Terrible customer service! Awful airline
I cancelled two tickets (purchased on 29 Mayember 2022) on 3 March 2020 and offered full refund due to COVID19. Received an email confirming that my refund request will be processed in 15-21 days (see attached). I followed up again and again and again but received NOTHING but just bunch of generic words repeated by some people sitting overseas: "we will follow up with back office". Make Sure Your Luggage is Secure
When travelling by Emirates it is advisable to ensure that your luggage is secure and that you do not use back packs, duffel bags or any other type of bag wherby a zip can be professionally seperated to allow baggage handlers access to your luggage. e 7 days. When raising a compalint with Emirates, customer service is appalling and respond via email with a 'no reply' email address. Contacing senior managers employed by Emirates is a waste of time as they do not respond. What is of real concern is that if luggage can be accessed during transit and items stolen, items can also be place in luggage without the customer's knowledge. Extremely poor customer service when really needed
Just received information from Emirates stating my trip has been cancelled. The information tells me to call the airline. I have tried various numbers all of which are apparently disconnected. I know that I am going to have to do something regarding the trip but I need to speak to a representative first to ensure I choose the most economical option for me. Impossible. I used to be a big fan of the airline but won't be flying with them again following this experience
I have booked my flights over 6 months in advance, way before there's been such thing as COVID-19. At the moment, my country closed borders, the destination country closed borders and Emirates where we have a few days stopover no longer issues visas on arrival. Yet there is no refund (it seems like same conditions apply, which means I'll lose half of what I paid) and I couldn't get through to customer support after trying for 5 days straight

Wow utterly awful!

Terrible Customer Service, Terrible Experience
Had booked flight from Melbourne to Athens for the end of March. Emirates Airline cancelled the second leg of the trip from Dubai to Athens due to low numbers and without consulting with me place me on a flight a day later. Have attempted to change flight date online so that I do not spend 24 hours in the airport or having to go to a motel for a night at my expence but realised that they wanted to charge me for the change. Have attempted to contact customer centre...but cannot get through to them. I WILL NEVER AGAIN fly with Emirates

*Best Airline*
Booking business class from Australia to UK. Was easy online. Chauffeur was a on time at both ends. Aircraft was clean ( A380 ) Staff both on ground and in the air were faultless. I have anther trip booked with Emirates In June Australia to Spain ... I recommend this airline in every way.
All flights were on time.

The chaffeur who picked us have the "professional" courtesy to ask us to load our own bag into his car.. what a service !

Daylight robbery
I tried to book on line two return business class tickets to New Zealand and back. At the time I was not aware that Emirates no longer did that leg and it would be a Qantas flight. There was nothing to indicate that when I booked. The booking was then not confirmed so I rang Emirates and booked by phone. ight was marginally more expensive so I assumed they would deduct the additional cost from my card. Not the case. They deducted the full amount again and then told me the first payment would become void and I could expect a refund within four days. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told "they can't help you anymore than I can so I will not be putting you through to one. " They said that they could only resolve their mistake by charging my credit card twice. That is totally unacceptable when the error was their error. I am now out of pocket to the tune of $5,000 for a mistake they made. Why does this airline think they have the right to behave so unethically and dishonestly? some staff have zero compassion
SIngapore airport with Emirates check in counter staff.
I and my family had arrived in Singapore Changi airport from another international flight, and we had an issue with our luggage being delayed (as did everyone on that flight). I attended the early check in counter without luggage so we could check in and go to the Singapore transit hotel (Inside the airport after check-in).

Terrible customer service
Flew on an outdated emirates flight after being offloaded from business to economy after purchasing the ticket 5 months in advance. Me and my wife were at the gate the first ones with pre check and when we check with the kiosk to show passports, they said that there has been a problem and we have been offloaded.

Needed help to get back to uk as son in hospital. Emirates no help. I think I was talking to a robot.
Needed help from a human with people skills. Got no help at all. Very poor. My son taken into hospital as an emergency and kept in. I need to get home asap. I have a ticket just need to change the date. Emirates want me to pay the near price for a new ticket. When I booked the ticket I was told it was open and could be charged with a small admin charge. Not the case. The person from Emirates was like a robot with no people skills. Poor job.

Unfriendly over rated
Compared to Qatar airways there is no comparison . Unfriendly staff fake smiles ! I flew Business class as I do with Qatar it was like a normal economy flight except you had a bed! Hundreds of people in business class not what I expected! Queuing for the toilet through the lounge bar! What I ridiculous layout! No privacy at all!
Bed not comfortable and narrow no room to put all your belongings . Limited films to watch or programs, food not great at all .. no service to speak of . On Qatar they are so lovely and attentive and come all the time...Read more

Terrible service and attitude from staff, extremely disappointed
Was flying from Shanghai to Dubai via the emirates airline, I’m a frequent flyer(5+ times per year). During the flight, the flight attendant were no where to be found, I waited patiently and asked a staff 3 times for a coke. I ended up going to the back and asking for it. Flight attendants are good looking but had attitudes, no smile, yelling at passengers etc.
I was very disappointed with the overall experience with Emirates airline, I’ll not recommend it to anyone and I’ll certainly not use it again ever.

Frequently use this airline. Ground staff at Sydney hopeless. Told to cancel a upgrade by airport staff. So to allow for a better upgrade. But once cancelled. Told no.we won't allow you to upgrade.

Though if they cancelled your flight then terms and conditions stating below
9.2.2 You will be entitled to choose one of the following three available remedies if we cancel a flight;
fail to operate a flight reasonably according to the schedule; fail to stop at your destination or Stopover
destination; or cause you to miss a connecting flight with us or with another airline for which you hold a
through booking/confirmed reservation and adequate time existed to make the connection after the
scheduled time of arrival of your flight
9.2.2(a) Remedy One - we will carry you and your Baggage as soon as we can on another of our flights
on which space is available and, where necessary, extend the period of validity of your Ticket to cover that
carriage.
9.2.2(b) Remedy Two - we will re-route you and your Baggage within a reasonable period of time to the
destination shown on your Ticket on another of our flights or on the flight of another airline, or by other
mutually agreed means and class of carriage. We will also refund you any difference between the fare,
taxes, fees, charges and surcharges paid for your carriage and any lower fare, taxes, fees, charges and
surcharges applicable to your revised carriage.
