How can I improve the gas flow

I recently had problems with flame height becoming very low. Although the injector looked clean to the naked eye... once I poked the injector hole using a fine piece of wire the flame height became nice and full and high again. So try that first. After that then try replacing the regulator - mine played up last year and caused low flame and shut offs.

Bought my e2go last week from Bunnings (floor stock). Cleaned the igniter with toothbrush but I still have have the same problem - a spark now and then, a click now and then and when it does light it has taken a long time and I am now sick of smelling gas each time it does not work which is just too much

Thanks very much but I have now been fully refunded, I really do not wish to have this replaced or repaired - if I'd have known you had to turn the control up to 5 times then if it did not light wait 5 minutes I would not have purchased in the first place. A very flimsy? ignition system I feel, and on top of that having the smell gas each time it did not work does not appear very safe or healthy. Thanks again

great little unit but mine is too hot!! even on the lowest gas setting hood temp is still 200+C can i change the jet to make it a bit more controllable?? The gas flame does go from low to high with the knob, so no problems there. at the low setting flame is ~ 5mm high and on high setting double that.

other than that a great unit!!

Hi Chris, No idea really if you hear the clicking of the BBQ trying to light you can use a long match and light it that way but overall the more l hear of the E2GO the more problems people are having l would never recommend it to anyone. Have you tried brushing all over the gas outlets in case they are clogged? Try ringing the shop where you bought it, they should be able to help you. l have kept mine just as a backup or using it for veg when my newer better BBQ is full up. Sorry. Cheers Joane

Thanks Joanne,
My BBQ igniter hasn’t worked since about 6 months after I bought it!
I’ve been lighting it with a lighter but now it won’t light at all.
The worst thing is I paid more $$$ to buy the red E2GO Grill BBQ. I got talked out of the Weber by the sales assistant that the Everdure was better.
After just over 2 years now it doesn’t work.
It’s just frustrating when you would expect it to last longer than that.
I don’t know what’s wrong with it but it’s clearly not well made.

l had the same problem, the only way to use it is like an oven - with the lid down. Useless as a bbq except for snags or onions. l have kept it for that purpose but bought a new one for steaks etc.

e2go Grill

Not sure of the difference between e2go and e2go grill however I find even after using a new 9kg bottle there is not enough heat for good a BBQ when the control knob is set to high and left to heat up for around 30 minutes. Cooking is slow and no char.
I brought it from Bunnings already constructed except for the trolly, is there an adjustment allowing more or higher gas other than the control knob?

Kerry

Hi brendan
I am finding the opposite. I put temp to high for about 10 mins to get needle on temp gauge to half way then lower control to low and find this more than adequate temp to cook roast etc.
I also use 9kg gas bottle. I do close the lid even when doing steak, sausages etc.
Maybe this is the difference.

No adjustments other than the control knob. Make sure once lit you close the lid and let it pre heat like an oven. Also they work best if you cook with the lid closed. Try and limit the amount of times you open the lid as you lose heat. These arent really like a standard bbq and work best with lids down. Once you get used to it you will love it.

Hi Josh. I am not sure mate. Do you get good blue flame with it open? Have you tried using a different regulator hose? Make sure there are no leaks from the gas bottle to the bbq. If the regulator notices any pressure changes it will shut itself down and cut off supply of gas. Make sure no fat has clogged any of the holes . I hope you resolve your problem. You could also send them email and see what they say.
all the best.

Tim.R

I'd check that you havn't got any blockages in the gas line, burner and gas bottle nozzle. Give the burner a good scrub with a wire brush to make sure the holes aren't to blocked up aswell.

My parents have an e2go bbq that they didn't use for a couple of years.
I went over to their place on the weekend and tried to fire it up, but it just didn't.
Gas is definitely coming from the cylinder and the ignition is lighting, so I'm guessing the gas is not coming through the burner when I turn the knob. Anyone know why this is happening?

1 answer
Dr Funkenstein
Dr Funkenstein

Are you pressing down on the gas knob as you turn it to ignition? What I do is press down on the gas knob for about 3, 4 seconds. Then while you are pressing it down, turn knob to ignition. Once it's lit, you can then stop pressing down and control the temperature for poking as per normal. When you press down on the knob you should be able to feel it come down by a few mils. I hope this helps.
