I'm no fridge expert but it all depends on how long since you've adjusted the temperature? I do know the thermostat is not designed to be adjusted too often but if you are to adjust it's recommend only doing so every 24hrs.

If you wish to alter the temperature of either the fresh food compartment or freezer compartment, this can be easily done by using the control panel located at the back of the fresh food compartment.
The fresh food compartment light on the refrigerator diagram will be showing. The temperature indicator illustrated by a thermometer will show the temperature setting for this compartment as a series of lights.
■■ The temperature may be altered by pressing the ^ or v buttons. One press on either of these buttons will produce a dimmer light which indicates a small change in temperature.
■■ Pressing either button twice gives a brighter light and indicates a greater change in temperature.
■■ Fewer lights on the thermometer means a cooler temperature for the compartment selected.

The serial number is invalid - the serial plate is located on the bottom kickstrip of the cabinet with the door open.

I have noted that a lot of people are saying that this fridge is noisy. Is this a high pitched noise or a mid level. My present fridge has a high pitched noise that drives me crazy and I don't want to make another expensive mistake.

No, the noise I refer to is the motor noise which is certainly not high pitched. All fridges make motor noise, but I found my E402B is a bit noisier than other fridges I have owned.
Our fridge is a Fisher & Paykel 403L ActiveSmart Fridge - E402BL3. It is ABSOLUTELY QUIET. We are 100% happy.
Thanks for the feedback. I expect anything with a motor would make some noise I would be happy as long as it not a high pitched one.

I bought an Active Smart 19 years ago on new Zealand. It has freezer on top fridge in the middle and large crisper drawer on the bottom. Can you tell me the model this is please as I cannot find the model no on it anywhere and need to get new seals for it.

Look for a sticker at the very bottom with the bottom door open. The door seal will press up against the sticker when the door is closed.

My fridge keeps beeping, the lights at the back keep going off or flickering??

Ours is as well! I'm often up in the middle of the night, coming downstairs to press one of the buttons at the back of the fridge to get it quiet again. We have literally just pulled it out and taken the back off carefully. The fan seems to stop when the door is opened but the beeping has stopped for now.we will see how the light is in a few hours but the indicator has been flashing green on and off constantly for a couple of weeks now.
bought one 2nd hand, was okay for the first 6 weeks, but started doing the same thing... was something to do with the 'motherboard' of the machine... once this was replaced it returned to normal...
