Functional Quiet Refridgerator
We finally replaced our old two door 30 year old Phillips refridgerator with this modern french door unit.
It is very quiet and from the day it was delivered, (we've had it 1 month), it's been a dream to use.
The double door opening makes it easy to find things, comes wih glass shelves which are easy to clean.
We didn't previously store our milk in the door as it seemed to go off quickly, however with the configuration of this new refridgerator, the door is the optimal space for a 3L bottle but so far its not a problem.

iner would be useful to be supplied but you can buy an egg holder in variety stores and this solves the problem of where to store them safely. I like the freezer compartments, a vast improvement on what we used to have. The drawers are useful to separate items and we find it easy to locate items. All in all, I think its a great refridgerator, and I'm happy we finally upgraded.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Love it!
Its a great size, spacious and great for an organised fridge. However, the freezer is like a treasure chest, making it pretty hard to look for things. There is also no egg holder which annoys the crap outta me and the ice tray thing is a bane of my existence. The fridge maintains a good even temperature and the fast freeze function for the freezer actually works amazingly well.

Terrible warranty service
Beware of the closing mechanism. From day one the doors didn't close properly, they bounced back if you didn't swing them really hard. Although F & P admitted that they were faulty, and it qualified as a warranty issue, they wouldn't repair or replace the fridge as we lived an hour out of town and it was too far for a serviceman to visit. Not happy, as we paid $500 extra thinking it was a better brand than the Korean fringes. But other than that it keeps thing cold. A bit annoying that you need to open both doors to open the vegetable door. Defeats the purpose of French doors. Wouldn't buy a F&P again.

Loudest Fridge EVER!
This Fridge is LOUD! Constantly runs the motor and compressor (even after all trouble shooting), you should not have to have a service on a fridge only 3 weeks old! Save yourself and don't purchase this Fridge. The design of the Fridge is great, except where is the egg holder?? We are at our wits end due to the noise!! We can't fault their other products, just stay away from their Refrigeration.
UPDATE: After 3 replacements on this Fridge (yes 3), twice due to noise issues and one they delivered damaged, this fridge was returned and replaced...Read more
with an Electrolux Fridge - so much quieter, whilst not as big and spacey inside and not the great Fresh Produce of an F&P, it is much quieter and everything else is perfect. My recommendation, if you have an open space where the fridge is going to live (not surrounded by cupboards or walls) do not buy this fridge as you will hear it constantly.Similar opinion? Finally a quiet fridge
We have had F&P fridges for over 25 years. Recently we purchased a Botton mounted E522BRE5 and had to send it back due to noise. The service man did not argue and we received a store credit. We then paid a little extra for an RF522BRPX. It was very noisy. It is the same fridge as the RF522ADX4. We therefore were very concerned about replacing it with a fridge from the same range. However a reviewer pointed out the RF522ADX4 and the RF522ADX5 have significantly different reviews with the latter quiet. So with some trepidation we purchased the RF...Read more
522ADX5. It is a terrific fridge so far and very quiet. It is hard to believe the change in model from an X4 to X5 could make so much difference. The X5 is a much quieter fridge. Thanks to the previous reviewer we seem to have finally found the right fridge.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Good looking well designed fridge
Very good fridge. It is sturdy and seems resilient in spite of many openings and closes. It is very quiet and maintains an even temperature in all compartments. The only issue so far is the bottle chill light flashing and beeping for no apparent reason. We haven't used the bottle chill feature and yet it still flashes every few days or so. It is very easy to clean.

My wonderful Fridge
My new fridge freezer is wonderful and I love it. The size is great and all the compartments work very well. The freezer is great. the dairy compartment works very well and the butter comes out spreadable every time. The outlay is wonderful with the correct amount of space for everything. I love the vegetable crisper as it keeps my Fruit and vegetable so fresh and tasty. All in all a wonderful buy.

Very happy
Only bought the fridge this month and so far its working very well. No more frozen eggs and lettuce. Very quiet and looks good. We had limited depth and height in our fridge space and this model although wider was not as deep and high as other brands. Fitted into the space with no issues.

we like the look of the fridge
BUT, the doors dont close easily .We have had them out to fix it and we have been told this is normal .We have to push the doors hard for them to close, Never had a fridge like it before .If you had kids the door would be open all the time as they would have to slam it .We fine the doors are always open when we are busy or have people over, ITS A BIG DRAG we wouldnt of bought it if we had known this first

Great high quality fridge
Just received the fridge today and I am very very impressed with the quality and build, the doors and steel feel very high quality and has a nice solid thud when you close the door (similar to a well built german vehicle), shelves are very sturdy which was important as my Westinghouse fridge shelving had started to disintegrate after 8 years. The only thing this fridge lacks is an egg tray and also a nice wine rack instead of some plastic bottle moulds.

Excellent Fridge!!!
This fridge is the best fridge I have ever purchased. It is very quiet and looks great. The french doors are great because they allow for a larger fridge with full width shelves within restricted spaces. The fridge and freezer compartments are well laid out. Great product at a very reasonable price!!!

Do not buy this fridge!
Bought this just before Christmas 2016 and after a couple of days it started making this weird high pitched noise, all the time, it never stopped! I could hear the thing from almost every room in the house!
After customising the temperature to moderately cool in the fridge and freezer it started "chirping", making noises like there was a family of crickets living in it. The only way to get it to stop was to turn the temperature up so far that it was barely keeping things cool. Finally had enough of the noise and arranged for a technician to co...Read more

Poor quality control
Unpacked new fridge and after taking packing plastic film off doors I opened the doors and found the left door would not shut again as the flap remained in the wrong position and hit the right door if it was closed. Every time the left door was closed I had to physically hold the flap in the right position so it would pass by the closed right door and had to physically locate it in it's locking slot in top of doorway.
This is such an obvious fault which should've been picked up at either some level of quality control checking or when the pers...Read more

I have just got this fridge yesterday, its a good looking fridge, fit perfectly to my kitchen. My concern is the gliding noises when every time pulling out the freezer door. Has anyone had same problem?

Ours sounds the same. It's probably the roller bearings. The freezer specification says 159 litres. That's a lot of possible weight. So they probably had to use heavy roller bearings to carry the weight and survive being open and shut so many time in its lifetime. Maybe they made it loud so you know when someone is after the icecream also, lol.
Exactly, probably just for the purpose of saving ice creams ;)
Ours is having the same issue. Had the service guy out the day after we bought it. He has ordered new set of rails in the hope it will fix the problem. My issue is none of the display models we looked at (in multiple stores) had this issue, they were all quiet.

Where is the egg holder???

The eggs have to stay in the egg carton or some dish not included in purchase.
not supplied, too many customers complaining about dropping eggs.
There is no egg tray for this fridge

We have just had the fridge delivered however the freezer drawer seems very difficult to open and close and makes a loud metal grating sound like it is off it's bearings, but can't see any actual problem.
Also the left door has an exposed spring on the movable flap that make a lot of noise and looks ready to pop off.
I am wondering if these are abnormalities?

it is very difficult to make an accurate diagnosis of the specific cause without the benefit of inspecting your appliance.
If you would like to arrange a technician to attend to your refrigerator, warranty service call, you can call our 24-hour Customer Care Centre on 1300 650 590 and a Customer Representative will assist you with service in your area.
Alternatively, you can search for service in your area by using our online locator at the following link:

If there is a Fisher & Paykel technician in your area, a form will be generated which you can complete to submit a service request using our online booking facility. Otherwise, the locator will provide you with the contact details for the Authorised Service Centre(s) near your area.
No problems with drawer on ours...slides well....think u have a problem there. I have had the spring replaced...and yes it does protrude.
I have today just had the second door hinge hook replaced. They tell me new ones are different type of plastic and dont break.
Just hope that is all that is going to happen. Have had all rubbers replaced as well.
Good luck with your fridge. I really like it, just sick of hassles. F and P will be hearing from me if there are any other problems.

An addendum to my above review dated Dec 28: The help centre was very helpful when I rung to advise them of the problem and they booked me in for a technician but due to the Christmas/New Year disrupt... Read more
ions the technician could not make it until Tues Jan 3. This seemed reasonable under the circumstances though I had the ongoing frustration of not using the left door or having to open the right door and then hold the left door flap in place and closing the left door and then closing the right door after it. I was given a window between noon and 1700 hrs for the arrival of the technician. He sent me a message saying he was on his way and arrived just after noon. He took one look at the door and took out a little spring from the flap and replaced it with another. Took about 1 minute to do the job and the door flap was fixed and operating as it should be. So, I have to say despite complaints others have made about Fisher and Paykel and about this model fridge or their service I have no complaints with the speed, attention and politeness I received from start to finish and I'm happy about that.
